It appears the children and teacher have been found alive.
Has a miracle happened ?
I am so delighted and hope they will be ok after their horrific ordeal.
It's always nice to see good news as lately all the headlines are of something bad having happened.
Please forgive me if there is already a thread on this topic.

Breaking on sky news now - yes

EachandEveryone · 08/07/2018 12:48

Just breaking on Sky News now. Two boys out.

PickwickThePlockingDodo · 08/07/2018 12:51

I think they are out of the flooded bit but still have a walk to the exit

PestymcPestFace · 08/07/2018 13:03

No official announcement was been made, but police radio chatter said the two players are being brought to a waiting helicopter at Baan Chong football field

The first boy walked out at 5:40pm and the second at 5:50pm. Thai TV shows speeding ambulances with lots of police.

chequeplease · 08/07/2018 13:08

That seems remarkably quick if 2 have come out already!
There's no official news as of yet.

Goingalonenow · 08/07/2018 13:16

Metro reporting two out and taken to local hospital.

Official news now: two boys out!

53rdWay · 08/07/2018 13:18

From the Guardian liveblog:

“The first two members of the Thai football team have been rescued, a local rescue official told Reuters.

“Two kids are out. They are currently at the field hospital near the cave,” said Tossathep Boonthong, chief of Chiang Rai’s health department and part of the rescue team.

“We are giving them a physical examination. They have not been moved to Chiang Rai hospital yet,” Tossathep told Reuters.”

Taking the fittest out first .

viques · 08/07/2018 13:37

Riveting to watch the rescue teams underground, such brave, unselfish people, restores your faith in human beings.

peridito · 08/07/2018 13:42

Apparently BBC reporting that weakest are coming out first .

Pupsiecola · 08/07/2018 13:42

4 sue out soon. At divers' base at present.

Urbanbeetler · 08/07/2018 13:44

They’re moving them in there batches apparently. What wonderful news that the first few are out safely.

ValMc1 · 08/07/2018 13:49

6 our now - wonderful news

LartenCrepsley · 08/07/2018 13:56

They’re way ahead of schedule, too. It’s going much better than they’d envisioned.

Whirliegigspiders · 08/07/2018 14:07

Absolutely amazing. Can't believe how well they are doing. So much respect to these rescuers

DamsonGin · 08/07/2018 14:10

So happy! Fingers crossed they'll all be out easily.

Pupsiecola · 08/07/2018 14:10

I hope those boys know the world is thinking of them.

They say it's taking 9 to 10 hours to get them out. Incredible. I hope they can get them to the World Cup. Wouldn't that be amazing.

PestymcPestFace · 08/07/2018 14:12

One is needing urgent medical attention and is transferred to the local hospital, Maesai hospital and not to the Chiangrai General hospital 60KM away.

UndergroundSun · 08/07/2018 14:15

I'm relieved that the first lot are out. Hoping that the last 6 and the coach get out safely too. I've been thinking about this for days.

ValMc1 · 08/07/2018 14:18

They're coming home, they're coming home - when the last us out millions will sigh with relief - my heart goes out to their parents as well - there but for ...

peridito · 08/07/2018 14:19

pesty I'd heard that 2 of the boys have been taken by helicopter .
Presumably because of their health .

FissionChips · 08/07/2018 14:20

Wonderful news, I’ll certainly be donating to the charities involved.

Whirliegigspiders · 08/07/2018 14:22

Hope hope hope that rain holds off from being too detrimental.

And hope the rescuers don't get too exhausted.
