that's great sitting. There is hope out there

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:18

Look the smears about Hamas, IRA, Marxist and not campaigning on the referendum have failed. Give it up as a bad job.

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:18

seriously ghost? you really don't want to engage with anything that doesn't totally follow with your point of view. and, as I said, the book isn't pro-tory at all.

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:19

if you want to think they're smears because you refuse to engage with other points of view, even to read them, it's your loss.

OliviaStabler · 24/06/2017 23:20

Agree. Complete asshole.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:21

Yes seriously. There were prominent politicians from all parties supporting remain. It didn't work. The press barons wanted out and that's what they got. Remember, EU army, turkey is joining EU etc. The real project fear.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:23

Why should i read one specific book that fits your world view? I have read stacks on Brexit from all sides of the debate.

Smellbellina · 24/06/2017 23:23

JC has rebranded himself as a Jesus/Father Christmas character who can give us all everything we've ever wanted, despite Brexit, the deficit and all that tedious money stuff
No he hasn't. That's the kind of condescending waffle the daily fail has promoted. Why be a parrot?

MayhemAndRudderless · 24/06/2017 23:23

How does speaking to crowds at Glastonbury, make him a creep?

Your logic is funny, op

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:24

Well argued olivia, which debating school did you attend?

ILikeyourHairyHands · 24/06/2017 23:25

It's not a smear, he's spoken repeatedly about how much he admires him, he also cites Hugo Chavez as one of his political heros.

He's a Marxist, as is McDonnell. It's hardly a secret.

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:25

you mean, seriously you won't read outside the box of your opinions? Don't you think that's dangerous?
So, if the press barons are all powerful, how come labour did so well in the election this time?

explodingkittens · 24/06/2017 23:25

So you're basically saying that anyone who hasn't read this one specific book can't have an opinion on brexit, or Corbyn, or the media, and is living in an echo chamber?

Okie dokie then.

You have absolutely no idea what I or anyone else 'engages with' in terms of news, journalism, opinions, social media etc. Just because someone has a different opinion to you doesn't mean they live in an echo chamber. Such a lazy, cliched term.

MayhemAndRudderless · 24/06/2017 23:25

If JC is like Jesus or Father Christmas, I'm all the more for him. We need more people like him in this world.

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:26

Remember when the regressive right were encouraging people to join Labour to vote for Corbyn? From unelectable to messiah, make up your minds! U turning is in fashion this season

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:28

People are finally turning against the press barons. Brexit and May's negative, fear monging campaign are end game for the regressive right.

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:28

no ghost I didn't have a 'world view'. It's just very comprehensive and balanced IMO. It seems a shame that sone posters can't bear to read a book because of who writes it.
Have you checked out what Johnson had to say about Corbyn post referendum? It's easy enough.

MayhemAndRudderless · 24/06/2017 23:28

Actually, Corbyn and McDonnell are not Marxist - neither was Tony Benn. Read up, people!

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:29

as in Alan Johnson

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:31

I thought you were the one saying that you wouldn't read it because of who it was written by kittens
So, by extension, you only read stuff written by non right wingers, which seems a bit limitted

BestIsWest · 24/06/2017 23:31

Hang on... JC is responsible for Brexit?

An advisory referendum called by the Conservative party as promised in their manifesto in an election where Corbyn wasn't even in the shadow cabinet.

How on earth do you reach the conclusion that Corbyn is to blame?

HateSummer · 24/06/2017 23:31

Wow, that speech was inspiring! What a wonderful man!

lucydogz · 24/06/2017 23:32

can anyone tell my why the horrible press barons didn't manage to stop the surge to Labour in this election, if they're all powerful?

GhostofFrankGrimes · 24/06/2017 23:33

Why are you asking me to read specific things? I don't blame Corbyn for Brexit, he didn't call the referendum and it's not the Labour party that are riddled with euro sceptics (see the John Major government) or people calling for suicidal hard Brexit.

ShoesHaveSouls · 24/06/2017 23:33

Ridiculous, actually laughable, to suggest that JC was responsible for the Leave vote. I'll tell you who was responsible: Arron Banks, Dominic Cummings, Boris Johnson, Michael Gove, Nigel Farage.

But, no doubt, when it all goes to shit, it'll suit the rw press to blame JC.

I'm relieved to see that we've reached a time when "it was the Sun wot won it" is now meaningless. Murdoch and Dacre have a little less power since this election - and that pleases me.
