Anything resulting in mass loss of life will have a criminal investigation. They will be looking for failures. Corporate manslaughter / gross negligence manslaughter are criminal offences too.

I was recently involved in an inquest where there were numerous failures by a public body. It also involved a concurrent criminal investigation.

So sad FlowersFlowers

CaveMum · 16/06/2017 13:18

Playing Devil's Advocate, it's possible TM wanted to go but was advised not to do so. Of course that doesn't make it right, but we don't know for sure why she didn't go.

The best thing she can do now is go there today, be contrite and allow people to say what they are feeling and take it on the chin.

sunisshininghot · 16/06/2017 13:18

30 new death toll
50 plus missing

BeyondStrongAndStable · 16/06/2017 13:18

I've written council there, I mean HA.

upperlimit · 16/06/2017 13:20

For TM be at the site and not take time to talk to victims and acknowledge the pain felt by grieving relatives and for her not to meet a community in anguish smacks of contempt for those people that you represent.

I'm couldn't give two hoots about the Queen but at least it goes some way to demonstrate that this disinterest doesn't spread the breadth of the ruling class.

For a community that feels ignored, well ffs, she makes David Cameron look human.

Want2bSupermum · 16/06/2017 13:20

The Queen was dealing with two grandchildren who had just lost their mother when Diana died. TM doesn't have an excuse.

brexitstolemyfuture · 16/06/2017 13:22

Seeing sk yesterday and what happened no way will TM want to go there unless only a few controlled normals are allowed around her.

I want to know right now all the buildings in the country with the same type of cladding and know that people are working around the weekend to get rid of it! AngrySad

There are none around here else I would demand action from my mp

StatisticallyChallenged · 16/06/2017 13:24

Agrees supermum, she misjudged the situation when Diana died but I don't think it's comparable really.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 16/06/2017 13:24

This is going to be a fucking white wash.
TM has fucked off, no one addressing the actual worries.

I am always angry about the state of our society, but this has made me very fucking angry.

We don't need platitudes and promises.

There needs to be QUESTIONS ANSWERED NOW.

I have a 5 yr old, I live in social housing (thank fuck not a block) and the story of the woman losing hold of her 5 yr old sons hand trying to escape is simply fucking heart breaking.

COUNTLESS CHILDREN HAVE DIED AND I AM SO SO ANGRY AT ALL THE PEOOPLE WHO IGNORED RESIDENTS CONCERNS AND CUT FUCKING CORNERS, AND AT THE POLITICIANS WHO REFUSED TO PASS HOUSING BILLS IMPROVING PEOPLES LIVES.

FFS WHEN WILL WE STOP PUTTING PROFIT ABOVE PEOPLE???

(yes the capitals are deliberate!)

mrsglowglow · 16/06/2017 13:25

Helena, you were quite right. Here it is the word 'vexatious' . Used in a reply to the grenfellactiongroup from councillor Judith blakeman. Everyone please take time to read the bullying tactics used by Kensington and Chelsea council and kctmo. Google grenfellactiongroup.

NormaSmuff · 16/06/2017 13:26

TM is pm, she is busy. it is not time for political point scoring

upperlimit · 16/06/2017 13:27

Maybe we should reserve the top floor of all council run high rise buildings for MPs who are away from their constituency and visiting London and see if that focuses the mind when they are setting the standard for fire safety?

peaceout · 16/06/2017 13:28

I predict a riot

user1496484020 · 16/06/2017 13:28

Do you know what quote comes to mind? 'It's better to be poor in a poor country than poor in a rich country'.

Hearing people interviewed who lived in the blocks or neighbouring towers, it is apparent they were completely ignored and neglected.

I can just see some penpusher looking at 2 issues. One a complaint from Johnny Billionaire that the road-works are interrupting his peaceful enjoyment of his pad. One complaint from 200 signatories that they're afraid for their lives as their accommodation is a fire hazard. Which one do you think said pen-pusher addressed?

ssd · 16/06/2017 13:28

FFS WHEN WILL WE STOP PUTTING PROFIT ABOVE PEOPLE???

when people stop voting conservative lana

BigYellowJumper · 16/06/2017 13:29

norma

Oh well, if she's busy, it's ok to ignore the people she serves, isn't it?

KatherinaMinola · 16/06/2017 13:30

"Vexatious" is a legal term though, so its use per se shouldn't be an issue. (Though I wouldn't mind betting it was used here to rationalize away genuine complaints.)

ssd · 16/06/2017 13:30

NormaSmuff, you championing the tories on every thread smacks of someone who works for them

if TM cant take time out her busy schedule for something like this then that says a lot

IdontTrusther · 16/06/2017 13:30

Hmmm so looking at some of the blog - "

In the last twenty years and despite the terrifying power surge incident in 2013 and recent fire at Adair Tower, the residents of Grenfell Tower have received no proper fire safety instructions from the KCTMO"

On going complacency and laxity at play under various governments.

BeyondStrongAndStable · 16/06/2017 13:30

I wouldn't argue with that statement, peace. Now the shock is wearing off, people are getting very angry.

user1496484020 · 16/06/2017 13:31

mrsglowglow - thanks for that.
What a fucking arrogant ignorant response. And who the fuck uses the word tendentious? I'd fucking stick tendentious down Judith's throat.

LanaKanesLeftNippleTassle · 16/06/2017 13:31

I agree.

OR..

Stop second homes allowances for those MPs who live within commuting distance of London, like the rest of us have to.

If every MP who lived in a "commutable" area of London lost their second home, and that money went to fund social projects, might that not work better?

My MP has a London home, my DP commutes every fucking day to a place where its apprently too hard to commute to for my MP.

When people question where the money goes......well there it fucking is.
Shit like that.

norma odfod. You think shoving her head up some dup arse is more important than dealing with an incident with large loss of life and massive safety implications?
