To feel incredibly sad over treatment of the slenderman attempted murder girls

So I watched the documentary early this morning and just can't stop thinking about the 2 girls.
I understand what they did totally and they've never once denied what they did either.
I just feel so very sad that a so called compassionate society would treat as they are.
Of course it was wrong but they need help and love and care and proper treatment, not to be put on trial as adults 2 years after the offence with a chance of anything upto 65 years In prison.
I already have a low opinion on the USA in general and this lowers it more to feel it's terrible to treat them as they are.
I think about if it was my eldest girl and yes she knows right and wrong but no girl her age thinks about consequences thinks about things at all as an adult will.
I think the justice system they are been put through is very sick and twisted.also makes me wonder if they were of rich parents this may not be as it is now.
If they had been allowed to be tried as juveniles they would be out of prison at 18 but could still be monitored fully as needed. That would still be 6 years in prison. For a child 6 years is An entire life to them.

IMHO?? Anyone who attempts to commit or does commit murder should be killed themselves, I don't want to live in this society with killers.

Yes you can say "well what about the people who kill the murderers?? They aren't any better", they are simply ridding society of the worst humans.

You do realise that EVERY Lawyer in every case will look for the 'mental health issues' as a w
ay out don't you? They are paid for this shit.

Carollocking · 28/01/2017 19:27

I don't think there's doubt about some kind mental problem,it's not exactly a normal thing to do is it

Poorlybabysickday · 28/01/2017 19:30

Misstic · 28/01/2017 19:35

Badcat666 are you serious? They thought it was fine to kill their friend? It is highly unlikely that at this age they don't know basic right from wrong. This is not nuanced right and wrong. This is basic. Even a 5 year old knows that.

If it was my child, I would want them punished. This just wouldn't sit well with me.

BooFuckingHoo · 28/01/2017 19:38

Where can I watch this on sky/catch up, does anyone know?

Carollocking · 28/01/2017 19:38

What is the name of the documentary? I'd like to find it on sky.

SavoyCabbage · 28/01/2017 19:41

Didn't they plan it on paper and invite the victim for a sleepover or something?

Carollocking · 28/01/2017 19:42

Beware slenderman or beware of the slenderman

OP posts:
SavoyCabbage · 28/01/2017 19:42

Carollocking · 28/01/2017 19:43

They had a sleepover and it was the next day and yes it was planned to a point

Badcat666 · 28/01/2017 19:44

What Misstic ??

I've been saying all along that at 12 year olds they would know that stabbing someone would be wrong and they knew that by stabbing someone 19 bloody times they would be trying to kill their friend. It's just by sheer chance that poor child survived.

I have no sympathy for those 2 girls, they knew what they were doing all along and planned it. To me you can have bad children, just as you can have bad adults.

PossumInAPearTree · 28/01/2017 19:44

I have sympathy for them. Of course if it was my dd they'd stabbed I would want justice for her but I do agree that they shouldn't be tried as adults. They can be tried as children and still receive a custodial sentence which would be punishment and hopefully some sort of rehabilitation.

How many years did Thompson and Venables serve? Ten? Eight? That to me seems more reasonable than the possibility of 65 years.

BingBongBingBong · 28/01/2017 19:46

It's Beware The Slenderman. They need to be locked up for a very long time. Mental health issues or not they are dangerous girls and should not be part of society.

AQuietMind · 28/01/2017 19:46

No it is not normal at all. Are you saying that both girls just happen to have mh problems? Why not go the full hog and say the victim had mh problems too, otherwise why would she have went with them?

Sorry op but I completely disagree with your stand on this, they omitted a crime and they deserve whatever punishment comes their way.

For real people with real mh problems this is insulting, I have been through the mill with mh problems from an early age but I never dragged on any of my mates in the woods and tried to kill them.

Carollocking · 28/01/2017 19:46

Yes and they did kill him

OP posts:
expatinscotland · 28/01/2017 19:47

I'm glad they won't be let out and do this to someone else. That poor girl they tried to slaughter. Fuckin hell.

1happyhippie · 28/01/2017 19:49

They did plan it. They stabbed the girl numerous times and left her for dead.
Can you imagine how terrifying for the victim this was? How do you even begin to move on with your life after something so horrific?
They were supposed to be her friends. She had known one of the girls since starting school.
My sympathy lies with the 12year old victim here.

Carollocking · 28/01/2017 19:50

I should have thought mental health issues couldn't be disputed as it's not something any normal child would choose to do I'm sure,so whether like it or not as an excuse or reason I don't see anyone would think it was a thing 2 normal girls would choose to do.
Or is a mental Health reason only for adults ?

OP posts:
originalmavis · 28/01/2017 19:55

Pretty sure the victim now has lifetime mental health issues.

Badcat666 · 28/01/2017 19:56

Not everything bad a person does it due to "mental health issues". Mental health issues doesn't make everyone stab a friend. Maybe they are just utter bastards you wanted to kill someone? Doesn't make them mentally ill, just makes them a sick fuck.
