From now on the race becomes winner take all. If Trump wins Florida on March 15, it is probably all over.

But, instead of giving random quotes, how will he ensure the big businesses will pass on profits to his workers in the form of salary rises?

I suspect workers will start getting rises regardless of who goes to office and if they don't ruin the economy, simply because unemployment has been getting lower and there will be more competition. So, if the economy has been getting better, anyway, what else is Trump bringing in that Obama didn't?

claig · 12/03/2016 11:27

'But, instead of giving random quotes, how will he ensure the big businesses will pass on profits to his workers in the form of salary rises?'

Because it is basic demand and supply market capitalism. There will be more employment and fewer employees, so employers will have to compete with each other to attract employees by raising wages. They won't be able to undercut the people's wages by employing illegal immigrants because Trump will end illegal immigration and he will also end open borders which will control immigration.

'because unemployment has been getting lower and there will be more competition. So, if the economy has been getting better, anyway, what else is Trump bringing in that Obama didn't?'

Trump says the employment figures are phoney and created to make the politicians look good. Sean Hannity on Fox says that the real unemployment is 92 million out of the labour force because many have given up looking for work and are not counted in the politicians' official figures.

The economy is not doing well and there is a $19 trillion deficit rising to $21 trillion. Trump and Carson say that "America is on the precipice" and that "the bubble coule easily blow". It is a very serious situation which is why Trump has entered the race and decided to take America back from the globalists in order to save America and "make it great again".

If he says, then it must be true. Grin

Has Trump given regular raises to his workers? All?
That would be interesting to find out.

claig · 12/03/2016 11:30

Ben Carson, a very decent man, endorsed Trump yesterday. They are taking America back.

Surely if the economy was that bad, legal and illegal immigration would stop. Maybe that's his plan.

claig · 12/03/2016 11:39

'Surely if the economy was that bad, legal and illegal immigration would stop.'

Why do you think there is such outcry at Trump's plan to control immigration and end open borders and build a wall between Mexico and the United States? The bllionaire globalist class want open borders, just like they do in Europe with Schengen. The billionaire "loser" elite are the ones who have presided over America's decline, its globalist free tarde deals, its huge deficit and its futile expensive globalist wars.

Trump is going to end their entire game. That is why they fund protestors against him and use the media to try and stop him. If Trump wins, it's over for them and some of them will probably be going to jail. It is the most important election of our lifetimes, it's the greatest show on earth. It's Trump 2016!

Not sure how what you've written relates to my comment...

claig · 12/03/2016 11:45

I have xplained why legal and illegal immigration will not stop, because the billionaire elite don't want it to stop. They are for globalisation, open borders, free movement of capital and labour and care more about globalism and globalisation that about America's national interest, unlike Trump.

"As Trump's Slovakian wife, Melania, said to him once, when she was a girl they used to see products with "made in America" written on them and that stood for quality"

Yes, 35 years ago in Slovakia, anything made outside the Soviet sphere of influence must have looked like it was made of fairy dust.

And LOL at looking up to the economy analyses of a bimbo who has been a permanent resident in the US for all of 15 years. A foreign ex-model said American exports have been declining in quality, so it must be true Grin

CoteDAzur · 12/03/2016 11:50

"care more about globalism and globalisation that about America's national interest, unlike Trump."

... and unlike you, a UK citizen from Essex.

CoteDAzur · 12/03/2016 11:51

" It is the most important election of our lifetimes, it's the greatest show on earth. It's Trump 2016!"

Who cares if the election is a great show? The winner will end up with nuclear launch codes FFS Hmm

Lweji · 12/03/2016 11:51

Supposedly.

I still don't see how your reply follows my comment.

claig · 12/03/2016 11:56

I think America's national interest is in our national interest too because America is the leader of the free world and its freedom and prosperity ensure our freedom and prosperity. I want America to be extremely successful and elimintae its deficit and make its people rich and productive because I think that will ensure our freedom and prosperity too. I think if Trump ends globalism, we will benefit, as the world's fifth largest economy, too.

'I still don't see how your reply follows my comment.'

That is how I understood your comment. If you explain if further, I can answer it better.

Actually 'made in America' products tended to be of much higher quality. Clothing is something that as a kid everything was made here. My clothes came from Kmart. They had gone through 3 cousins and my sister before they got to me. They went on to my two younger cousins. Today even children's clothes from gap struggle to make it through more than 2 kids.

I could go on with different products. We have a false economy where imported goods are nearly always inferior to what was made here when I was a kid.

America is one hell of a country, one hell of a place. There has never been anything like it in world history and it is because of freedom. I liked Ross Perot back in the day, but I have never paid much attention to American elections until this time with Trump and this time I think I have understood what it is all about, what makes America such a great place and that is a simple and precious thing - freedom. I have learned more about America and what makes America great by listening to Ben Carson and Trump and Cruz and following the debates and political discussions in that great country.

I want the principles that made America great and rich and prosperous to endure and spread across the planet so that people across the world can share that freedom. I now understand even more why I am a conservative and believe in common sense conservatism because it is that what has created the freedom and prosperity that America was built on in my opinion. I hope Trump wins and we get a bit of common sense conservatism over here as well. I think that Saul Alinsky and his "rules for radicals" that Hillary admired when she was young are not good for the freedom and prosperity of the world. I hope billionaire capitalist entrepreneurTrump defeats the "rules for radicals" crowd and spreads prosperity and freedom across the world by his example.

"America is a unique country, founded on the principle that we are endowed with “certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.” Yet today, through taxes and regulations, government takes half of what each American earns. Government regulates what goods and services entrepreneurs can offer consumers, and restricts consumer freedom to buy many goods from other countries. Politicians currently are trying to restrict or ban what we can smoke, where we can use our cell phones, what we can view on the Internet, and which fattening foods we can eat.

How is it that the people of a country dedicated to freedom put up with such restrictions from political elites? Do Americans still value freedom?"

"America is one hell of a country, one hell of a place. There has never been anything like it in world history and it is because of freedom"

Oh sure. Because no other country on Earth is as "free" as the US Hmm

I really really hope that you are being paid for plastering MN with all this rubbish, claig. The alternative is too sad to contemplate.

Lweji · 12/03/2016 12:43

Actually, I live in a country where I'm not afraid of gun violence. I prefer this alternative. Even if we are not leaders of anything.

claig · 12/03/2016 12:45

'Because no other country on Earth is as "free" as the US'

I don't think there is another country on the planet which has the value of freedom enshrined in its independence and Constitution and laws as America has.

It has the best Freedom of Information laws, it has the best freedom of speech enshrined in its First Amendment anywhere in the world. And it is that freedom that has unleashed the power and potential of its people which propelled it to become world leader. There is no other place like it and that is why it is so important that America thrives and prospers and remains free. Trump will end the assualt on freedom and free speech, the attempt by radicals to intimidate public gatherings of free speech like Trump rallies, he will end the political correctness that stifles free speech and leads to university professors having to resign their posts due to political activism and pressure that deny free speech.

You are regurgitating American nationalistic dogma as spewed on a daily basis by Fox News - an equivalent of Daily Mail in terms of journalistic standards and credibility.

We are the freest of the free. Terrorist hate us because they hate freedom. etc etc.

It's complete bullshit. Children's stuff that is frankly pathetic for an adult to buy into and try to dissipate as if it means anything.

claig · 12/03/2016 13:02

'Terrorist hate us because they hate freedom'

I don't say that. That is what Labour's Hillary Benn said in Parliament when he voted for the strikes on Syria and got applause and an ovation from the Conservative and Labour benches.

But freedom is the best thing ever and I think that Trump will ensure that freedom and "make America great again" and at least half of Fox News are not too keen on Trump and prefer the Establishment GOP instead.

Kind of like mom's apple pie, right?

It's scary how Fox News can turn some woman in Essex into an American drone.

Lweji · 12/03/2016 13:05

The US

One of the last western countries to still have the death penalty
One of the countries where gun massacres and serious crimes are common
One of the countries where the police feel the need to be aggressive and shoot
A democracy where the president is not directly elected by the population.
Possibly the country where university education is the most expensive.
Prevailing racism
Poor social protection - many people end up in the streets.
People suffer or die because they can't afford health care (changed a bit recently, but oh, the difficulty).
Hardly any maternity protection (apart from unpaid leave).
Incarceration rates way above European countries.
Lower life expectancy compared to Europe.
Bad public transport.

It's big and resource rich, which largely explains its leadership position. Nothing much relating to their intrinsic values as a country.
