On New Year's Eve women in Cologne were amongst those who were sexually assaulted and robbed in mass attacks.

We also hope that tomorrow, Monday 8th February, David TC Davies MP will be on MN for a web chat between 1pm and 2pm - it should be a sticky on either Chat or In The News. David was one of the few MPs who has shown any interest in this whole issue and who has responded sympathetically to those of us concerned about women's rights in a changing world.

Well that's heartening. They can vilify the whistleblowers and in thirty years those women might get justice.

It turns out one of the abusers parked up next to a police station with a 12 year old. A police car stopped and asked what they were doing. The abuser said 'She's just sucking me cock mate'. And they just drove on. A 12 year old. And they didn't even ask if she was okay or she consented.

I really do not understand why there isn't more outrage against these crimes on women and children being covered up and ignored.

BillSykes Do you know what that description reminds me of? It reminds me of the corruption and rancid morals of the men portrayed in the Michael Caine film "Get Carter", set in a grimy Northern town which Carter visits after his brother is killed. He see the moral destruction of his niece and takes revenge.

Is the police force being investigated in Rotherham? I read something about councillors also being involved. I suppose all that will be swept under the carpet as it usually is

It's emerged today that one of the victims has also accused a Labour councillor of rape, and there may be further charges.

I believe the investigations into SYP are ongoing, one by the National Crime Agency, several by the IPCC and one internal investigation.

Part of the issue with that is that the main officer involved died in a rather serendipitous car crash which I'm not entirely convinced was accidental. I believe there may have been a touch of the ol' Princess Di about it. So partly a key witness is missing, partly a lot of stuff can be pinned on the deceased. Which is convenient.
