Miscommunication?

Right.

GraceKellysLeftArm · 04/02/2016 19:20

Britt I'd always been under the impression that Goldsmiths was in fact the "Jewish university" of London, but when I googled that to try and find out, I found this:

www.huffingtonpost.co.uk/2014/10/16/goldsmiths-su-rejects-commemorate-holocaust_n_5995240.html

Shocking.

carlajean · 04/02/2016 19:40

So could MN comment on why they're unwilling to host this?

DeeEm · 04/02/2016 20:05

BrittEkland
It makes you wonder how much the media haven't been telling us. I'm glad we have social media now. Did you talk to your Hindu neighbour?

GraceKellysLeftArm
I've been called racist/nazi for daring to talk about Cologne on other forums (while trying to be as PC as possible). As if it's not bad enough that sjws are silent on Cologne, they will attack anyone who speaks on it. Angry

BrittEkland · 04/02/2016 20:20

DeeEm He's back from Canada and busy attending medical conferences in London. I will catch up with him. We have long, long phone chats (even tho' we are next door to each other) about the islamification of UK and Canada.

I cannot get my head around why you would be called a nazi for trying to speak about Cologne. It's as if thousands of people have lost their reason and forgive the very misogyny they oppose.

ExitPursuedByABear · 04/02/2016 20:35

I am shocked and disappointed at MNHQs decision.

mrsquagmire · 04/02/2016 20:43

Extremely good article at www.spiegel.de/international/germany/good-journalism-is-crucial-amid-all-the-lies-and-hysteria-a-1075302.html
I wish there was a British equivalent.

emilybohemia · 04/02/2016 20:57

2016, did you really compare refugees wit barbarian hordes?

Will you all be asking David Davies why he doesn't support gay marriage?

ExitPursuedByABear · 04/02/2016 21:18

high fives Emily.

Where've ya been chuck?

MNHQ please give us a reason why David Davies will not be allowed an official webchat.

Why does this stink to high heaven of more silencing on the subject.

Someone said that they were concerned about posting the petition on FB , I posted it with a short note of my concerns . Personally the reaction or lack of it from the media re Cologne was a major shock to me. With so much social media etc.. we have to accept that much of it is spun and some untrue . But the fact is hundreds of women were attacked by men and the police did not protect them . Who ever the men were , I can't see why it is unreasonable to ask the question . Are we or would we be protected here in the UK ?
Once I explained to my friends they have been happy to sign the petition .

BillSykesDog · 04/02/2016 21:45

Actually in fairness to MN, David Davies has just announced that he is putting himself forward as the leader of the 'No' campaign for the Euro referendum.

When it's someone involved in big ticket items like elections etc Mumsnet does try to be balanced and not give one side a platform without giving the same to the other. Plus I don't really think they can be seen as being partisan to one person campaigning for that role.

So I do get where they are coming from here and I doubt it has much anything to do with silencing.

seeThereWeAreThen · 04/02/2016 21:48

Well I'm sure it wouldn't take to much effort for MNHQ to request a 'yes' politician to come and do a webchat to 'balance' it all out. Hmm

BillSykesDog · 04/02/2016 21:55

Nice bit of slut shaming on Channel 4's 'Keeping Up with the Khan's' at the moment. More on the part of the programme makers rather than the refugee involved. Portraying Sheffield women as drunken half dressed sluts. Nice.

seeThereWeAreThen · 04/02/2016 21:58

I saw that advertised and just knew I shouldn't watch it.

It's still all along the lines of benefits scum and "init grim up north" cheap shite spin.

BillSykesDog · 04/02/2016 22:05

It's extremely sympathetic to the refugees. Every white person shown is thick, drunk, on drugs, ignorant. They're mainly concentrating on one genuine refugee who is very sympathetic. Only very briefly showing parts with one man who is presenting obviously forged documents to back up his case and a lot of other failed asylum seekers.

I'm watching because I live fairly locally. It's very one sided because there have been huge problems in that area with violence and anti-social behaviour which they're just ignoring.

I will be interested in what happens next week when they concentrate on the Roma. The overwhelming majority of opposition to the Roma came from the Pakistani community, but judging from the trailer they're going to ignore that too and make it all about the nasty white people.

LumelaMme · 04/02/2016 22:08

Will you all be asking David Davies why he doesn't support gay marriage?
Oh, emily, we have missed you.
That is EXACTLY what I thought you would say.

(And in case there is any doubt, I support gay marriage and was completely thrilled when my gay neighbours were able to go off and get civil-partnered.)

GraceKellysLeftArm · 04/02/2016 22:10

Emily - your migrants also oppose gay marriage.

Now, do you support gay marriage or migrants? Pick one.

WidowWadman · 04/02/2016 22:14

Grace - All migrants oppose gay marriage? What a stupid thing to say.

GraceKellysLeftArm · 04/02/2016 22:28

Have you been waiting in the wings eager to pounce on a badly-phrased, hastily-typed reposte? Hmm

OK then, "migrants who sexually assault women en masse are not huge fans of homosexuality and the rights of gay people to live at liberty and enjoy the freedoms, benefits and marriage of "traditional" heterosexual couples".

WidowWadman · 04/02/2016 22:31

And at what point has Emily supported the actions of anyone who sexually assaults women?
