Cologne Carnival Women's Day? Confused

That sounds like it might get a bit of unwanted attention.

I wonder how much protection there'll be out there for them Hmm

At the carnival women's day they dress in fancy dress and parade through the town....
Maybe they should cancel that day this year...

hiddenhome2 · 12/01/2016 19:02

Only racists talk about the weather.......and food.......and their job, pets, hobbies, what mode of transport they use etc Confused

hiddenhome2 · 12/01/2016 19:04

She must have gone to get her tea.

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 12/01/2016 19:07

So policing or lack of it has nothing to do with the attacks or the nature of this thread?

Well Emily, I guess policing or lack of it, is one of the consequences of allowing one million young men into your country in 12 months.

Did Merkel increase her police force? Did she check, make sure all her infrastructure could cope?

I suspect she did as Much as Blair did when he wanted to flood us with migrants from the EU, leaving councils with no budgets, schools with no places and so on.

You tell me how a police force used to dealing with x amount of the population can cope with a million new people committing crimes in a new way and in new volume of numbers.

LongWayRound · 12/01/2016 19:08

Weiberfastnacht (women's carnival) is the last Thursday before Lent. One of the main features is that women cut off men's ties...

DespicableBee · 12/01/2016 19:08

Or maybe she's gone to watch emerdale...

TwistedReach · 12/01/2016 19:10

I am still thinking about the way Emily and I were treated last night. The way that posters were certain that we were men, in cahoots, working for someone sinister, one troll with a sock puppet. But it was ok, you were so sure you knew the truth about the terrible bad people and what they were really up to, that mumnsnet would soon ban them and make all their posts go away.

The fact is you were wrong. You were being utterly paranoid and blaming people for 'bad' things that they hadn't done. Making assumptions based on your own paranoia.

I would say it shows a huge amount about how you understand the world and how you quickly you come to paranoid conclusions about people.

Having worked on one housing case where a muslim family were subletting a council property is not evidence that immigrants are responsible for the housing crisis.

Not speaking to a woman in a bhurka because they must be rude and thinking they are better than you is another example of paranoia and actually really upsetting to read.

HelpTheAnimalsFirst · 12/01/2016 19:10

Emily I am still waiting for your response to my post timed at 17:24:44 reproduced here. Could I have an answer please.
^
Emily: "It isn't right to simply blame the police, but sexual violence appears to thrive in communities where there are no serious consequences for sexual violence."^

Agreed, sexual violence does thrive when there are no consequences to the men. But as taharrush gamea is woven into the fabric of Egypt and is endemic in that part of the world, we can confidently say that love of such sadistic attacks on women is systemic within culture and will be imported by men coming from that part of the globe.

THAT is a massively important and major portion of any profile that any FBI profiler could assemble. Just that one aspect trumps anything else. Therefore we hv the kernel of a rapist's profile from behaviour and hobbies - in this case joining other men in beating and sexually assaulting women.

hiddenhome2 · 12/01/2016 19:10

Somehow I don't think women's carnival would be a good idea.

DespicableBee · 12/01/2016 19:10

Maybe they should use their scissors to cut something else

Yes, but we're racists Twisted, you need to accept that we're going to post upsetting things Hmm

I eat kittens for example. That is bound to upset people, but I think my difference should be celebrated Smile

hiddenhome2 · 12/01/2016 19:15

Yes, I saw them together in a lift once. They were whispering together in the corner as if they were up to something.

TwistedReach: "Having worked on one housing case where a muslim family were subletting a council property is not evidence that immigrants are responsible for the housing crisis."

Not one housing case, more like 200 under my direction. And guess what, all immigrants. I can understand the temptation to move in with relatives and earn some extra cash, but it is ILLEGAL. Got it.

hiddenhome2 · 12/01/2016 19:16

I think they were calling the other occupants of the lift 'racist', but weren't sure whether they should because the other people were from Guatemala.

TwistedReach · 12/01/2016 19:19

Help if you work in housing with immigrants- please tell me it wasn't you that said you won't speak to a woman in a bhurka.

WildeWoman · 12/01/2016 19:22

I am leaving this thread as it is absolutely impossible to listen to PURE AND UTTER SHITE on a permanent basis from Emily.

I'll find another forum.

hiddenhome2 · 12/01/2016 19:23

Don't you dare go Wilde Shock

WillBeatJanuaryBlues · 12/01/2016 19:23

twisted so many wonderful posts on here, ipost, mistress mia among others, moving articles being posted and lots of interesting discussion.

I agree the thinking they are better is a little close to the bone, but I'm sure you wouldn't stand around and make polite conversation with a skin head with facial tattoos. Appearance does matter

Before you start, I'm not trying to conflate the two in possible threat levels or anything, etc etc

I would say it shows a huge amount about how you understand the world and how quickly you come to paranoid conclusions about people

I think you should dwell on this and apply it to yourself.
