Would you vote to stay or leave the EU?

Quick poll.

Now we wait for Theresa May. If Theresa and Boris want to be leaders of the party, they may both go for broke and Brexit and that would be very bad news for the Establishment.

"Only two politicians can change the EU referendum result by leading the Brexit campaign

The Leave campaign needs a strong leader to put their case to the nation. Theresa May and Boris Johnson are the only figures big enough to make a real difference"

Cameron, Osborne. Eddie Izzard, as many Labour luvvies as can be rounded up and charidee bigwigs are not going to cut it with the people. We may still win.

claig · 19/02/2016 21:56

Deal has been agreed

SilverHawk · 19/02/2016 22:09

The 'Deal' has been agreed and Cameron has nothing. The big City question has not been sorted.
Mr Cameron has had to show the electorate that he has been doing 'something'.
Martin Schulz, the President of the European Parliament, has shown that any deals are worthless.

RortyCrankle · 19/02/2016 22:26

The latest poll taken AFTER DC's pathetic grovelling demands for EU reform - Leave 53% stay 47% which is very good news.

RortyCrankle · 19/02/2016 22:36

Agree that Leave need a strong leader and hopefully Boris will take on the role after tomorrow's cabinet meeting when they will obviously be discussing the outcome of DC's feeble grovelling demands.

Somebody in yesterday's Telegraph comments linked to the attached document which I found very interesting. I KNOW it's UKIP, I'm a Tory so have not and will never vote for them but if you can get past that, I thought it was worth reading.

I am so pleased to see Gove stand by what he believes, yet to see who else will tomorrow.

Do think Boris will have shot himself in foot if decides to go with deal - he will lose credibility and respect from anyone that thought he might make a go for leadership.

TheNewStatesman · 20/02/2016 08:34

Galloway??????

ProfessorPreciseaBug · 20/02/2016 08:43

wCameron said he wanted fundamental reform of Europe.
He got the ability to demand a debate, an opt out ot ever closer union and changes to benefits...

I sort of wonder.... it that it?

Chipstick10 · 20/02/2016 08:55

lefties living in a tiny bubble the likes of Izzard, Thompson and Cumberbatch are not going to swing anything for me and I suspect it will turn a lot of people off. Speaches by Obama, likewise. Cameron missed a very simple trick right at the beginning by showing his pro EU hand at the start and telling them he would be campaigning to stay in. What a total muppet. They need us far more than we need them, but I expect scare tactics like those used in the GE with Labour/Snp alliance

var123 · 20/02/2016 08:55

I think Galloway is the out campaign's first bad move. What were they thinking?!

Maybe he has sway with a demographic that I have no overlap with.

RortyCrankle · 20/02/2016 11:15

If Boris has any chance of going for the leadership he must lead the Leaves. He will be dead in the water if he backs the recent effort.

I agree, Galloway is a definite negative on the Leave side but not sure what they can do about it.

I'm really encouraged that the poll taken after DC's recent efforts show a majority for Leave. Just need to keep the momentum going now and increase the lead.

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 20/02/2016 11:29

Galloway sometimes talks sense. (Translate: I agreed with him on Scottish referendum.)
He is also one hell of an orator on his day.

claig · 20/02/2016 11:34

'I think Galloway is the out campaign's first bad move. What were they thinking?!'

I agree. I don't trust Galloway, I am not sure he is for real. He may end up creating division in the out camp which will help the Establishment.

He is a very good speaker. But I sometimes wonder if he believes what he says.

claig · 20/02/2016 11:43

Here was Galloway a few years ago, patronizing a man "calling him my dear" in his usual style, because he wants a referendum.

Galloway then didn't want a referendum.

In my opinion, Galloway is Establishment.

I expect that Galloway may cause a huge ruck in the Out campaign and the Estbalishment will laugh their heads off.

claig · 20/02/2016 11:51

"He [Galloway] said he wanted to prove the Brexit campaign did not have to "wallow in nationalism" adding: "I can hardly be called a Little Englander!"

www.express.co.uk/news/politics/645853/Controversy-George-Galloway-unveiled-supporter-Grassroots-Out-Brexit-campaign

I think the Establishment are rubbing their hands at the prospect of Galloway mentioning "wallowing in nationalism" and narrow-minded "Little Englander" at every opportunity.

Let's just hope that the Out campiagn doesn't make Galloway the spokesman in an attempt to be politically correct by electing a left winger rather than a "Little Englander" as their spokesman, because the Establishment would love Galloway to drive home the message they want.

claig · 20/02/2016 11:59

"but actually withdrawing from the European Union is the province of a tiny group of narrow-minded Little Englanders"

is what Galloway says at 2:39 into that audio link.

They are having a right laugh.

SonyaAtTheSamovar · 20/02/2016 12:02

The point of Galloway is that there are people across the political spectrum who think UK would be better off in the future out of a sclerotic EU.

For example, Jeremy Corbyn up until his circumstances changed recently! I am not sure about McDonnell.

claig · 20/02/2016 12:05

"I'm amazed at how important you all think elections are"

says Galloway in almost disdain for the people.

The Establishment must love him.

claig · 20/02/2016 12:06

'For example, Jeremy Corbyn'

Yes, Jeremy Corbyn is for real but is under huge pressure from the Establishment and its stooges within his own party.

But Galloway, I am not sure he is for real.

claig · 20/02/2016 12:07

The Out campaign would love to have Corbyn or McDonnell join them. But I think they may come to regret Galloway.

AnnaForbes · 20/02/2016 12:10

I think Galloway is a plant being used to discredit the leave campaign. The establishment will stop at nothing to win this referendum. I'm sure they have plenty of tricks up their treasonous sleeves and Galloway is one of them.

MTWTFSS · 20/02/2016 12:24

Thursday 23rd June!!!

claig · 20/02/2016 12:25

It gets worse with Galloway. Just read this.

"Hundreds storm out of anti-EU rally over George Galloway's 'anti-Semitic remarks'
...
The recruitment of the divisive figure was criticised by some of those leaving - and was mocked by the "in" campaign.

James McGrory, chief campaign spokesman for Britain Stronger in Europe, suggested Mr Galloway was "the worst special guest since Jean-Claude Van Damme appeared in that episode of Friends".

www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/hundreds-storm-out-anti-eu-7406007

It doesn't say what Galloway said and they may be exaggerating but these type of headlines harm the Out Campaign.

No wonder the "in" campaign are mocking the inclusion of Galloay in the Out Campaign. They must all be laughing their heads off.
