Conservative Carswell defects to UKIP

Isitmebut · 28/08/2014 13:46

Modernizer Carwell won the new Clacton seat in 2010 with a large majority, heavily influenced by Ukip deciding not to stand a candidate themselves – so he has found a natural home with those that have a totally anti EU stance, but seems to forget that Ukip without a parliamentary majority cannot change British law to bring us out.

Claig …… after all your rants about right wing ‘modernizers’, you now own another one – so time for you to ‘jump’ the other way? lol

P.S. His defection was hardly cold, but by 1.30pm Wikipedia had been changed to reflect his defection. Who do you think was in a hurry to reflect his move, Ukip or the Conservatives? lol

I actually find myself on the same side as Galloway, Diane Abbott, Jeremy Corbin, Denis Skinner. People I never thought I had a single thing in common with when I voted mrs t into power back then.'

I was with them when they voted against the strike on Syria - don't know if Denis Skinner did.

This is Farage again. He is amazing - a brave statesman, totally independent, not like the rest of the puppets.

"Western countries must stop "playing war games" in Ukraine and "poking the Russian bear with a stick" and instead work with Vladimir Putin to defeat the self-proclaimed Islamic State, Nigel Farage has said.

Speaking to the European Parliament, the UKIP leader said that Putin is "on our side" in the battle against Islamist extremism, and accused to EU of helping start the ongoing conflict in Ukraine by "directly encouraging" the uprising that toppled Viktor Yanukovich, which "led in turn to Vladimir Putin reacting".

the DUP MP has obviously just watched the Zukip conference as he's saying that we should be tackling radicalisation here in the uk

war is good for Dave with an election voting up.
It's good for the Defence Chiefs. It's good for BAe and the other weapons manufacturers.

These MPs are actually getting fucking hysterical calling for the protection of Akrotiri in Cyprus because it's 100 miles away from ISIS ( across quite a choppy stretch if water according to my last recollection )

We are led by bonkerZ people determined to join Obamas congo. Barking.

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 16:12

I love those UKIP clips of Nige pissing off. Barriso and Von Rompuy. Nige is especially good at winding up that German, Martin something

claig · 26/09/2014 16:13

'hysterical calling for the protection of Akrotiri in Cyprus because it's 100 miles away from ISIS'

Sounds like deja vu.

"Saddam Hussein's armoury of chemical weapons is on standby for use within 45 minutes, Tony Blair's dossier revealed today.

The Iraqi leader has 20 missiles which could reach British military bases in Cyprus, as well as Israel and Nato members Greece and Turkey."

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-139703/Just-45-minutes-attack.html

We are led by people who are not independent, unlike the UK Independence Party. We have lots of puppets who have to do as their bosses in the EU and elewhere tell them.

claig · 26/09/2014 16:21

The Daily Mail reported that a senior UKIP figure had hinted that there may be 2 more defections announced during this conference. The senior figure then denied it, but it may be on the cards. It will be interesting to watch.

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 16:33

Well were seeing them in all their glorious stupidity today in the H o C.

The EUs being very quiet on this bombing. France are doing it and Denmark announced earlier today that they'll join in. Where's the coherent EU response.

Anyway, well have to stop when we run out of bullets as they are made in Belgium and the Belgians refused to give us any to fight the fight the Argies.

All this is reminding me of Edward the what's its visit to that poverty stricken mining village after which he stated Something must be done

"UKIP Tanks On Labour's Lawn, Says Farage"
...
Speaking at the party's conference in Doncaster - the town Ed Miliband represents - Mr Farage said UKIP was "tearing vast chunks" out of the Labour vote.
...
Many target seats for UKIP are Labour-held, said Mr Farage and claimed polling showed his party was a threat "not just to the Conservative Party, as the papers would have you believe, we pose a threat to the entire British political class and I'll drink to that".
...
"And if we hold the balance of power there won't just be a referendum on our EU membership there will be a culture change in British politics. It will be a kind of politics that represents ordinary men and women in this country."

MY fear is that spread themselves too thin. The Lib model was to take councils, establish local party groups and then launch a Westminster challenge, then spread to the neighbouring constituency and repeat the action.

UKIP should focus on Essex and copy the Lib model instead of trying to split its resources by trying to takenEssex and Labour heartlands up North

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 17:03

Of course Ed has done himself no favours by following Dave's call to bomb Iraq.

I really don't understand why he didn't say no

claig · 26/09/2014 17:34

Fantastic, Farage says he will campaign to only allow postal voting for the ederly, the sick, the infirm and for people weorking overseas. He will put an end to what he calls corruption in postal voting. Finally someone has spoken up about this and challenged these Labour luvvies who champion it in order they say to increase electoral participation.

claig · 26/09/2014 17:36

UKIP's major tax policy is no tax for people earning minimum wage. Excellent.

claig · 26/09/2014 17:54

Very good speech by Farage. The PPEs have got nothing like it. If Farage gets onto the TV debates, he will wipe the floor with the spinners and the public will be queuing up to vote UKIP.

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 17:59

It was very good. He's not afraid to tackle the difficult subjects.

Shame about the acoustics as the audience appreciation wasn't always apparent.

claig · 26/09/2014 18:03

Yes, I am amazed how brave he is and how he goes against the cosy consensus of the spinners and what their bosses tell them to do.

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 18:28

Liked the. We are the party if right and wrong. V good sound bite

claig · 26/09/2014 18:49

Yes. "It's not about left and right, it's about right and wrong"

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 19:26

I see Channel 4 news used that clip. good. Also see Michael Crick determined to stir up trouble. That's really poor journalism in my eyes.

claig · 26/09/2014 19:38

Yes, Crick always does that - he's a PPE, establishment.

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 22:55

Radio 5 live UKIP conference comment. V interesting
Now

claig · 26/09/2014 22:57

Thanks, just caught the end about "no earth shattering policies"

claig · 26/09/2014 23:00

UKIP on Newsnight

WetAugust · 26/09/2014 23:00

I only caught the tail end too but the commentator said that, for now, the conference was bit stage managed but was attended by UKIP members - some of which has some strange old fashioned ideas. They interviewed someone from up north who sleuthed from Labour NAND thought Nige was totally genuine.
They also played a good portion and might even have played all of Niges speech

After the news they are interviewing Roger Helmand

claig · 26/09/2014 23:06

Just listening to Helmer now

claig · 26/09/2014 23:09

Stephen Nolan doing the usual BBC type attempt to sway the public against UKIP. Probably all written down on a script by a luvvie.
