The facebook post I previously posted on 15th May mentions that the re-analysis of data was one of the things the Malaysian parliament agreed during this transition phase i.e ongoing

Has anybody heard anything about an interview with the Malaysian prime minister in which he raises the probability of hijack?
I was trying to watch something online but the video stopped before the PM spoke.

3littlefrogs · 21/05/2014 22:57

Today I mean.

member · 22/05/2014 10:56

I only know of a former Malaysian PM who subscribes to highjacking by the CIA theory, don't know anything about the current PM mentioning highjack.

Further press statement

JOINT PRESS STATEMENT
BY INMARSAT UK AND DCA MALAYSIA
20 May 2014

Following the announcement by the Malaysian Minister of Defence and Acting Minister of Transport on 19th May 2014, the Malaysian Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) is pleased to provide further information on the discussion with Inmarsat, assisted by the AAIB, to get a common descriptor for the Inmarsat satellite data which had been provided to Malaysia Airlines when MH370 first went missing.

It must be noted that previously where reference has been made to data communication logs and raw data- they refer to the same set of data.

In moving forward, it is imperative for us to provide helpful information to the next of kin and general public - which will include the data communication logs as well as relevant explanation to enable the reader to understand the data provided. It must also be noted that the data communication logs is just one of the many elements of the investigation information.

In line with our commitment towards greater transparency, all parties are working for the release of the data communication logs and the technical description of the analysis for public consumption.
DCA notes Inmarsats full support for the ongoing MH370 investigation.

----------------------------------------

The key part here in my mind is will include the data communication logs; it is still not clear if this will be the whole data set or simply the portion from the last ping.

AnyaKnowIt · 23/05/2014 23:15

I wonder when that will be released

AnyaKnowIt · 27/05/2014 11:01

The data has been released today. Can't link on phone as its a pdf

AKeyFox · 27/05/2014 14:06

Inmarsat data log

It seems that the log does contain the 5 missing pings (page 40).

It seems to rasie a few interesting questions:

0. Could these extra data be utilised to provide more information ?

  1. Which of the 3 significantly different burst timing offsets (BTOs)(18, 23 and 49 ms) 00:10:59-00:19:38 is used in the the published doppler calculations ?
  1. What results are obtained with each of the 3 values ?
  1. Why do the BTOs change so rapidly from 18-49 ms in the last 10 minutes, when in the 3 hours from 1941-2241 they conly hange from 11 to 14 ms ?
  1. Is the change due to aircraft altitude ?
  1. In any case, what interpretation can be drawn from these differences ?
  1. Can a north-path vs south-path interpretation be superposed on each of the results ?
  1. Why was that analysis not in fact carried out ?

8.Has the ground initiated event at 23:13 been discussed ?
Why was this attempt made then and not earlier/more frequently ?

Hopefully, these and other questions will be adressed in the next few days, by those requisitely clued-up in the area.

I can't understand what any of it means. Can you interpret any of it?

ZacEfronsLeftBicep · 29/05/2014 08:26

Have you seen on the news today? So now they are completely ruling out that area of the Indian Ocean as the plane's final resting place and they think the pings they thought were from the black box, were actually from something else (possibly one of the search boats).

So back to square one then Confused

AnyaKnowIt · 29/05/2014 08:41

Yep everyone in agreement that the pings came from a search boat

BillnTedsMostFeministAdventure · 29/05/2014 08:44

Oh no, that's really sad.

Why August?

God knows what the families are gong through

BillnTedsMostFeministAdventure · 29/05/2014 14:38

Ok, so it's a deduction from the lack of results of the search.

Wow.

August may be weather related or it may be to give time to further analyse the Inmarsat data which is now the only guide to the search area, if more can be deduced about speed etc.

AKeyFox · 29/05/2014 15:15

I hope the whole pinger situation now gets clarified.

A couple of things from member's link:

They insisted that the signals were in the wrong frequency and detected too far apart to be from the boxes.

As soon as I saw the frequency and the distance between the pings I knew it couldnt be the aircraft pinger, one scientist said.

I'd queried this upthread.
People should have been on top of this within hours, at worst a couple of days.
It's completely insane that only weeks on is such a basic mistake "uncovered".

The JACC has refused a request to release recordings of the signals for independent analysis and it did not release the exact location or precise depth of the signals.

  1. Yeah, and now we know why: independent analysis would have refuted the claims.
  1. Why weren't the media onto this ? Why hasn't the JACC refusal significant news at the time of the refusal ? There was a crystal clear problem with the frequency difference of the detected and expected signal.

And the other thing is none of this was on the 1 o'clock news today either.

AKeyFox · 29/05/2014 15:17

Radio 4 news, that is ^.

BillnTedsMostFeministAdventure · 29/05/2014 15:18

It's the top "world news" story on the bbc news app now,

AnyaKnowIt · 08/06/2014 11:19

The families are trying to raise money to reward any whistle blowers

DieselSpillages · 08/06/2014 21:01

I was glad to hear that the families are raising money to pay for more info. They must be desperate to understand what happened. Someone Knows where that plane went and I'm sure it's not anywhere near the Southern Ocean. Perrhaps this will persuade them to talk.

AKeyFox · 11/06/2014 00:19

Dutch company hired to map ocean floor

JaneParker · 11/06/2014 09:13

There was a lady who says she saw it, wasn't there (when it was on fire and she was on another plane) and that was not in the area they were searching but North. That always sounded likely to me.

AnnabelleDarling · 13/06/2014 11:07

Look at this. Several planes which disappeared from radar for a period of time. A cyber attack? Wasn't that one of the early theories for MH370?

AnyaKnowIt · 13/06/2014 11:45

[shocked]

JKSLtd · 13/06/2014 13:42

The thought went through my head, was this is further 'test' of cyber attacking air traffic control?
Or have I spent too much time on conspiracy threads?
