For all of you who don't understand the disgust with the Daily Mail...

I have just been told they have published an article about John Hemming in which they name me. Both my real name and my user name.

Luckily for me I don't care. Luckily for me I decided long ago I would never put anything on line that I would be ashamed/upset/frightened for anyone else to read.

But for lots of people this would be a complete and utter disaster. People post really personal and sensitive stuff on this site about the worst times of their lives, looking for help and support. They must know that.

Note that they never bothered contacting me to find out which category I fell into.

So if anyone wants to start another wide eyed innocent thread - o I just don't understand why you all hate the Daily Mail so much!

Does this kind of thing help you understand a little more?

I will link to the scum bags but only because I hope people might leave some 'helpful' comments about JH.

Oh, I like claig too - just like I used to be v fond of a yappy little terrier my parents had Smile.
Her take on the DM's behaviour would be interesting, is all.

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 21:21

Yes, that blog was one of the first online sites that took the story up and quite detailed too Smile.

Spero · 02/01/2014 21:23

Isn't the reason Claig is so fond of the DM because she says they stand up for the individual (Disclaimer - obvs not if black, gay, immigrant or female individual). So this is presumably just another example of them standing up for the individual by, er, singling me out.

Just wait until they find out I am a disabled single mother on benefits (child benefit)!

And yes agree ^^ Hopkins and Hemming must surely be being fattened up in preparation for storage in a DM bunker somewhere for tireless generation of future headlines and column inches Grin

TwattyBojangles · 02/01/2014 21:27

Fucking hell. I missed the whole JH incident, only caught glimpses, but after reading that, holy shit spero, you must be furious. What a huge and disgusting invasion of your privacy. I hope you're okay.

Can MNers not complain to parliamentary commissioner for standards about the behaviour in public life of a sitting MP?

His behaviour hardly reflect the 7 standards, particularly Integrity, does it? Hmm

I COMPLAINED TO PARLLIAMENTARY COMMISSIONER FOR STANDARDS IN 2012!!

Sorry for shouting, but they sent me a really narky response basically saying they would do nothing and cared less.

So its absolutely fine and doodle dandy to have an MP stand up in Parliament and talk the kind of bollocks that might make even David Icke blush.

And they wonder why politicians are so universally reviled.

... and not respected Angry

VworpVworp · 02/01/2014 21:38

Sorry Spero Blush - I am skimming!

Perhaps we could all complain, en masse, is what I meant, for this current behaviour.

And I'm pretty sure Isobel does not give a fuck about her father's posting online tbh. Angry

Sorry, I am not having a go at you for not reading and retaining 5000 plus posts!

I am just so cross and frustrated.

I found on the internet some Members Code of Conduct for Parliament which said at para 15 'Members shall not behave in such a way to bring the House into disrepute' - or similar I paraphrase.

I sent them a detailed letter of complaint with about 20 separate incidents of when JH had certainly behaved in a way lacking in any integrity or honesty and on occasions actually harmed someone, such as the woman who lost her baby after taking his 'advice'.

They DID NOT CARE. THEY DID NOTHING. Nor did my MP Dawn Primarolo give a shit. Nor did Nick Clegg. I was treated as if I had written to them in green crayon and wittered on about lizards.

thekitchenfairy · 02/01/2014 21:44

Well I feel I should complain to them, conduct unbecoming of an MP etc etc.

Bloody disgraceful.

Can Parliament ignore many complaints made against the same MP?

Spero · 02/01/2014 21:46

At the time I complained, I think at least seven other mumsnetters did. Maybe if 100s of people complained they might do something.

arf@ green pen!

as I said on another thread- his time as an MP is running out

CuriosityCola · 02/01/2014 21:59

Comments are appearing on article. (Apart from mine).

BoreOfWhabylon · 02/01/2014 22:04

Which article curiosity? There are so many now Grin

I'd be very happy to join in a mass complaining if somebody would care to point me in the right direction/clue me up with appropriate wording.

CuriosityCola · 02/01/2014 22:06

Original one from start of thread. Smile

Did they acknowledge that the House is in the Thames thanks to Hemming??

To try and talk to anyone in the government is like talking with the three monkeys "I'm deaf, I'm mute, I'm blind".......

PacificDogwood · 02/01/2014 22:13

I am up to join a complaint campaign to the House.

perfectstorm · 02/01/2014 22:18

My local MP is Lib Dem. I vote for him, too. Am happy to drop in at the next surgery and express serious concerns about Hemming, and ask what the view is. I like them a lot in that office - very dedicated to constituency support and very direct and sane. Be interesting to see what the MP says as it's the staff I've had dealings with.

Spero · 02/01/2014 22:19

I am happy to draft a letter.

If people could tweak it and send it to their MP that might have impact.

OP posts:
LakeDistrictBabe · 02/01/2014 22:20

Good PerfectStorm! The more the better.

My MP is Labour and considering the state of the local council atm, Hemming is the last of the worries here.. Tried to engage a couple of local journos but there are more important issues at hand...sniff

ExitPursuedByAChristmasGrinch · 02/01/2014 22:20

Count me in.

LakeDistrictBabe · 02/01/2014 22:21

Spero

If you draft a letter I will join too. Yep, happy to sign with my original name :)
