For all of you who don't understand the disgust with the Daily Mail...

I have just been told they have published an article about John Hemming in which they name me. Both my real name and my user name.

Luckily for me I don't care. Luckily for me I decided long ago I would never put anything on line that I would be ashamed/upset/frightened for anyone else to read.

But for lots of people this would be a complete and utter disaster. People post really personal and sensitive stuff on this site about the worst times of their lives, looking for help and support. They must know that.

Note that they never bothered contacting me to find out which category I fell into.

So if anyone wants to start another wide eyed innocent thread - o I just don't understand why you all hate the Daily Mail so much!

Does this kind of thing help you understand a little more?

I will link to the scum bags but only because I hope people might leave some 'helpful' comments about JH.

Yes, I'd seen reports of the investigations - there was a report in 2010 too. But as I get the impression he isn't overly concerned about obeying the laws of the land in other areas (breaking injunctions etc) despite being named and shamed - he may also consider himself likely to have special dispensation in financial areas?

I don't mean to red-herring this debate though, it's just a thought. Much better off concentrating on the immediate, provable actions of his for now, and bear in mind the financial angle for later, if another angle is needed.

Spero · 05/01/2014 10:58

I am still very happy to be living here in 2014 then pretty much anywhere else in the world.

However, I agree with Carpe - it is important to try and stop the slide into unaccountability otherwise we may end up with JH as our own Berlusconi which is too scarey to contemplate at this time of the morning.

Athelstane - it is not a red herring but I suspect he conducts himself with a great deal more care and circumspection in those areas than he did on a website full of silly little women.

his misogyny may yet be his undoing.

I don't think they do get many, Spero - a quick skim of 2011's donations has less than two handfuls donating around the £10,000 mark. He's given well over that.

Spero · 05/01/2014 11:03

Thanks for that. Always nice to have ones suspicions confirmed.

Guess the deafening silence from the Lib Dems will continue to deafen.

But why o why are they so silly? They may gain in the short term from this but in the long term they continue their self destruct.

You're probably right, there won't be anything too blatant. Yet there is still mileage to be had out of people sailing perilously close to the financial winds - as the outraged reporting of his 'allowed' expenses showed.

Spero · 05/01/2014 11:08

But he sailed through that didn't he? And the absurd Love Rat Stuff and the awful hounding of his wife....

Be really funny if what sunk him was his own behaviour on this website.

But I doubt it.

He seems teflon. But I will just keep chipping away, any way I can.

Oh, yes, I agree, I feel v lucky to be living in a democratic Western European country. Even with its failings.

I am beginning to get the hope impression that maybe he blatant disregard for various rules and his idea that he is somehow above the law may be something that might trip him up in time.

WestmorlandSausage · 05/01/2014 11:15

Athelstane any chance you have a link to those figures I struggling to find which ones you are talking about online?

LokiIsMine · 05/01/2014 11:27

Lilka

Just delurking briefly to say that my grannie used to pour wine in my glass when I was two, did that make a bad grannie. Need to add I was not adopted so see original families can be bad too ;)

CarpeVinum · 05/01/2014 11:34

may end up with JH as our own Berlusconi which is too scarey to contemplate at this time of the morning.

Cheapo version of Berlusconi if you don't mind.

Right. I am off to investigate The Netherlands as a uni option destination for Squirto.

Just in case Britian turns out to be a "frying pan to frying pan" option by the time he is about to break my heart, how could you leave me! I gave you life! Stay with me FOREVER! La mamma é la mamma! fly the nest and go forth into higher ed.

Based on what DeathBlow! by leg shagging sheep Lady's followers are telling me, there is a deep deep malise in the LibDem party, and like any other disease.... it will be contagious.

At present they don't seem willing to amputate for the good of the whole. We shall see if that remains their preferred status quo once Operation ChopItOff finally gets underway.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 05/01/2014 11:45

Hello Sausage

lots of detail on here: www.libdemvoice.org/, and there was something about a £25,000 donation in a Times article as well, I'll just go and see when it was...*

  • note this is not the official declaration of funding list - not sure where that is kept.
AthelstaneTheUnready · 05/01/2014 11:47

My apologies, they were taken from the Electoral Commission figures. But cannot vouch that it is the whole story.

AthelstaneTheUnready · 05/01/2014 11:48

direct link: looking at the money

WestmorlandSausage · 05/01/2014 12:11

cheers having a look at them now. Its protected on a google doc so trying to find away to transfer it elsewhere so I can have a fiddle with some filters

Lilka · 05/01/2014 12:40

Thanks for the money links, interesting. That's pretty much what I've always thought as well

Yes pacific that's the actual ending! I didn't make up anything in any my posts about that book! Every single thing was true. It IS an interesting view into some people's mindsets. Very juvenile is my opinion

WestmorlandSausage · 05/01/2014 12:42

its just short of £50k in donations over 10 years that have been done in his name as an individual.

Its odd that he is listed on one set of spread sheets and not on the other though?

MadameDefarge · 05/01/2014 12:49

my lesbian filo parcels are all finished and winging their way to a wedding.

Never again. Oh dear god, never again.

BeyondTheLimitsOfAcceptability · 05/01/2014 13:01

I read the preview of that book finally last night. I was literally sat here like Shock

Was supposed to be catching up on sleep, didnt feel well so my mum had the boys. I got to sleep at about 5.30am!

Tiredemma · 05/01/2014 14:24

erm... might ahve to eat a bit of humble pie for suggesting that the Bham Post was in his pocket.

Just been into WH smiths in my local town (sutton coldfield) and the story is actually front page and all on page 3. Including a piece about his controversial history. Paper runs from Jan 2nd until weds this week.

Spero · 05/01/2014 14:35

Weyhay! I think it is the Birmingham Mail who pulled their piece on his intervention. Nice to see the Post has a more commodious vagina than the weedy Mail!

OP posts:
Tiredemma · 05/01/2014 14:36

lots of references to 'drunken posts'. really doesnt AT ALL paint him in any positive light,

goes onto talk about the catnapping also

Spero · 05/01/2014 14:39

Can't find it on line?

But I did find this which is quite interesting. Note how cross he is if anyone suggests he isn't a 'full time MP'

so how do you categorise your very extensive postings on this and other fora JH? Was this ALL in your spare time?

I think we should be told.

Mail piece is still awol, and cant find anything on post website, wonder if anyone can upload a picture of it?

MadameDefarge · 05/01/2014 14:43

I would assume that if the paper had already gone to print and had been distributed, it could not be recalled unless by a court order.

But you can pull the online versions.
