LakeDistrictBabe · 13/12/2013 20:20

Ok, the old thread is nearly full. If you read the other three, I don't need to re-write everything again ;)

But you know I am referring to the case involving an Italian mother and the British social services.
Opinions welcome.

John, can you please confirm whether you are posting as an elected MP or as a private individual.

CarpeVinum · 20/12/2013 22:05

Oddly enough it is those people who sent copies of my mistake to various people (and arguably Spero is OK sending it to Essex) who have actually broken the law because they believed that what they were sending to people was in contravention of a court order whereas I did not believe this at the time I posted it.

Can I just clarify what you are saying in your defence please.

........

I=John Hemming

I had an extract from a legal document.

I did not investigate to acertain that the document had not been released to the public by the Italian court that produced it.

I did not check it for sensitive information.

I did not stop to consider that perhaps my Italian language skills were not up to the task of checking the extract properly for status or sensitive information before posting.

I posted it anyway.

I claim my "oops" and my "get off scot free" card.

johnhemming · 20/12/2013 22:07

John, can you please confirm whether you are posting as an elected MP
or as a private individual.

In accordance with the 1688 Bill of Rights it is quite obvious that Mumsnet is not a proceeding in parliament

CarpeVinum · 20/12/2013 22:10

I surmise because he is still here 'joking' about what he has done that either no one is taking any action against him or has even 'had a word' with him

In that case we need an AIBU That MPs shpuldn't be above the law thread.

And ask mumsnetters if they think it is right and proper that an elected offical can do what has been done here, in full public view, reported to appropriate authorities, and still TPTB take the view that it's OK when an MP doesnshit like this, just as long as the little people behave.

MadameDefarge · 20/12/2013 22:11

So you are not prepared to confirm whether you are posting in your capacity as an elected MP or as a private individual.

johnhemming · 20/12/2013 22:12

I think I am posting in my capacity as an individual. I thought that was rather obvious. Mumsnet is not a proceeding in parliament.

WestmorlandSausage · 20/12/2013 22:12

thats not what was asked John.

We asked - are you posting as Mr Hemming, citizen and general ordinary bloke from down the pub about your personal beliefs

or as you posting as Liberal Democrat MP John Hemming about your political views in the name of the lib dem party.

We don't need to know that you have managed to identify that mumsnet isn't a proceeding in parliment (clever you), as despite being women we had managed to work that one out for ourselves.

WestmorlandSausage · 20/12/2013 22:14

that was a crossed post on my behalf -

you THINK you are posting in your capacity as an individual John? Does't that mean your not entirely sure of what you are doing here?

MadameDefarge · 20/12/2013 22:14

If you are posting as a private individual, do you feel it is right to post confidential documents that are only in your possession in your capacity as an elected MP?

LakeDistrictBabe · 20/12/2013 22:14

I'm crying out of desperation.

Tolkien never said Middle Earth existed. If he was asked to place it somewhere, that would have been northwestern Europe. The Shire was inspired by rural England, not Birmingham.

Modern version of Middle Earth is New Zealand and I have seen the sets, therefore I can confirm you movies were shot there.

The fact I am Italian and I have to tell you this about one of the most famous British books of all time is quite incredible.

You really know nothing about nothing. As if.. Pfft

OP posts:
johnhemming · 20/12/2013 22:15

Obviously I am not speaking on behalf of the party as a whole. That falls into the category of "bleeding obvious".

I am not the party's spokesman on "babystealing".

MadameDefarge · 20/12/2013 22:15

And I am sure you undertake many activities outside of parliament in your capacity as an elected MP.

Like, ooh, forcing mince pies on unsuspecting public servants.

Spero · 20/12/2013 22:16

He is clearly posting 'as an MP' because he has used his own name.

Ergo he wants to be identified as his public persona.

If this was just the 'private man' talking he would have a cute little nickname.

I think Humpty Dumpty was suggested earlier. May I recommend that.

At least I have just discovered that my MP Duncan Hames HAS replied to me and asked me to forward my concerns to his office, which I have done.

I think I will just tweet, email and post until somebody somewhere takes this seriously.

MadameDefarge · 20/12/2013 22:16

So why did you feel you have the right to break the confidentiality shown in you as an MP, as a private individual when you named those three children on the internet?

Do you understand to concept of professional boundaries?

johnhemming · 20/12/2013 22:17

The Shire was inspired by rural England, not Birmingham.

Try reading you might learn something.

WestmorlandSausage · 20/12/2013 22:17

You do realise I asked you these questions about 3000 posts ago and you didn't deign to answer me. What has changed?

LakeDistrictBabe · 20/12/2013 22:17

the Bill of Rights was passed on December 16th 1689

You don't even know history lol

OP posts:
LakeDistrictBabe · 20/12/2013 22:19

johnhemming

Do you suggest that an academic should read the Telegraph?

Bwahwahahahahahahahahaha

Ditto.

I am now offically on holiday. Finally have time to really get stuck in.

Spero · 20/12/2013 22:22

I think he must be drunk.

At least I hope he is drunk.

If this is him sober then it is worrying.

johnhemming · 20/12/2013 22:23

Lets have a look at the Bill of Rights on the leglislation website
www.legislation.gov.uk/aep/WillandMarSess2/1/2/introduction

Bill of Rights [1688]

(there are complications about the change between Julian and Gregorian calendars and when the year starts).

However, I am happy to trust the legislation website on this point.

The year used to start on Christmas day.

LakeDistrictBabe · 20/12/2013 22:24

He is sober, unless he is such a lightweight that he got drunk in half an hour.

I agree Spero, it is worrying!

OP posts:
MadameDefarge · 20/12/2013 22:25

Thank you John for confirming that you are posting here on mumsnet as a private individual.

And that you also posted confidential court documents relating to two different court proceedings on the internet which were only in your possession due to being and elected Member of Parliament.

johnhemming · 20/12/2013 22:25

If this is him sober then it is worrying.
I am not sober, but I am right.

Spero · 20/12/2013 22:27

This is just embarrassing now
