There are far too many cases where the authorities rush to remove children and do not give both parents and wider family a say. Adoption is rushed through.
The fact a senior family judge is insisting he is involved in the rest of this case is a good thing and the more cases like this which receive publicity the better.

The point is it is like justice in China and Russia. If it's secret then those involved cannot justify themselves. If we have more in the public domain that is a greater good than any risk from disclosure to the children and parents involved. it is why open justice and published judgments and rights for all those involved in child disputes to use twitter, blogs and emails and no stifling of free speech.

Thankfully things are all moving this way and we lucky to have people like JM and C Booker to give publicity to the issues which need much wider debate. I would imagine most social workers and lawyers involved in this area are very happy that the issues get more public debate not less. Most professions would.

If and when in some months time, the baby is placed with parents and they apply for an adoption order, and then the final round of appeals begins and ends...then I'm sure the final court judgements will generate another thread

nearly a 1000 posts and I still haven't had my questions answered from last night by Mr Hemming or any of his friends. And I don't suppose I ever will.....

I will therefore be contacting my own MP Tim Farron (president of the Lib Dem party) to ask him instead about his party member's activities and whether they represent the views of the Lib Dem party and if Mr Hemming is authorised to do this kind of work during his working day.

my biological mother had mental capacity issues. her mother (biological gran) had care of her older chikd but was in her 70s when my mother got pregnant with me

she refused to take me as she was too old and it wasnt fair on her, my mother or myself.

so I was adopted. by far the best thing anyone ever did for me. I was in care for a few
months while assessments were made of my mother and then adopted to a wonderful and loving famiky who were able to care for me and make the best decisions for me, something my own mother may have been unable to do

it means I have never met my biological sister and was raised an 'only child' . beyond a mild curiosity(stronger when pregnant with my own children), this has not affecred me at all.

love and good stable care is more important than biology imo and having read the judgement and the lack of suitable stable carers (lets not pretend the Dad did anywhere near enough to show his ability to care for the child and the aunt in USA is a bloody stupid idea) then I think ss made the correct decision

The one really good thing about the thread is that I think it has really crystallised justifiable outrage about these men and their activities, and hopefully publicised it a bit more.

I urged people to complain to the. Lib Dems about JH's activities whilst holding himself out to be an MP but don't hold your breath for any response. I sent a detailed letter to. Nick Clegg last summer and did. To even have the courtesy of an acknowledgement - and I know this has happened to others.

Every time JH pops up on a thread like this I am going to ask him the same question - where is the proof that LA now or ever were paid a bounty for every baby they took into care?

Maybe others have a question they too would like answering. We can simply repeat the questions (which he will never answer because he cannot: his assertions are wrong) and hopefully the penny will drop for some just who he really is.

Way back in this thread JH cried an Early Day Motion in the House of Commons in support of his stance. The only trouble is, it was his own EDM, and he was the only signatory.

I can't work out whether he's just thick, or whether he thinks we're too dim to notice. If the latter, that would make him exceptionally thick.

Anyway even if this child didn't make contact with her sisters and other extended family until she was 25 would it not be better that she had been brought up in Italy speaking Italian so that she was able to do this later if she wanted to?

A child of mixed race who would suffer further delays in terms of process, perhaps to the point of never being placed outside of an insititution ?

Hell no.

I love Italy. I have lived here for the bulk of my adult life (and I am not young). I even made a mini Italian with my very own body. In all likeyhood I'll die here, and as long as a teaspoon of me goes home, that's ok.

But given the specifics of this case, anybody who thinks shunting her over to Italy is making a priority of the child in question, is utterly ignorant of many realities here.
