Other thread getting full

If it is one persons word agaisnt someone from 40 years ago it sticks that they don't go to court

but if there are are more people who can corroberate what happened to them and it falls into a pattern then they should be prosecuted

1.10 We therefore consider it pragmatic to present this report in as factual a way as possible given that the information provided has not been corroborated. Further investigation seeking corroboration of individual allegations, the majority dating back many years, is considered disproportionate when there is no prospect of criminal proceedings.

Mrcrumpswife · 11/01/2013 13:04

Its the phrase 'there is no clear evidence' that really pisses me off. What evidence do they need other than apparently a signed confession with all dates and details includedAngry The word clear is definitely well thought out to cover their arses for the future inquiry in 40 years time which will then disclose how corrupt they all are.

Sky are constantly putting the pic of JS and Thatcher up. I wonder if they are all waiting for her to drop off her perch before releasing any details of dead MPs linked to him via her cabinet. I can only hope thats the motive for the deafening silence.

Lockedout434 · 11/01/2013 13:05

stinks not sticks

2.9 Whilst the NSPCC Helpline was contacted by some people who had previously reported their concerns and wished to alert the authorities again, the majority of people had never spoken about their experiences to the authorities until now. The reasons cited for this were varied and included the fear of not being believed and a lack of trust in statutory agencies or feeling that the justice system would be ineffective in prosecuting the offender.

No shit sherlock

Just watching Channel Island news, they are launching a new investigation into the abuse comitted on the Islands.

OP posts:
ProzacHelps · 11/01/2013 23:33

On newsnight tonight they talked about the possibility of victims receiving compensation footed by the tax payer. Where is all the money JS pocketed over the years? The victims deserve compensation and if JS had millions in his bank account it should be used to compensate the people he abused.

ElectricSheep · 12/01/2013 00:47

I've been reading/lurking too.

swallow you asked how you find out if someone was alive, I think it might be easier to search for their death if you know their full name and dob.

Hello you. Lovely lovely lurkers and to Anya the most prolific poster for some reason I forgot to mention earlier.
Kisses and hugs

boschy · 12/01/2013 07:15

The thing is, it's all outside anything I've ever experienced, you know? (for which I am very fortunate). But I have 2 pretty teenage daughters... and well you know what I mean I hope.

boschy · 12/01/2013 07:51

And I know whether they are pretty or not is irrelevant, just protective mummy stuff coming out!

swallowedAfly · 12/01/2013 16:37

why do they assume a 'paedophile ring' and 'an informal network' are two different things? is it not a ring unless they all sit in a circle and sing songs and do rituals? an informal network of paedophiles working together to exploit, rape and abuse children is a fucking paedophile ring ffs.

it's not the time to play games with semantics.

seriously though what would constitute a ring and what an informal network? to my mind of course it would be an informal network - it's illegal activity so it's not going to be formal is it!

swallowedAfly · 12/01/2013 16:40

thanks for link btw electricsheep - i don't know date of birth - i can't even be sure what his age was as he lied and lied - first pretending to be late teens, then i found out he had to be at least early 20's and then i was told he was late 20's. god knows.

i have a meeting with someone from the police for work next week. i could ask (without revealing it's me - could be one of my students for all they know) what one would do. we'll see. i can remember the name of one of the police officers who came to my house i think - he was very involved because allegedly his daughter had been one of this guys victims Sad apparently i was her spitting image. seedy bloody business.

boschy · 12/01/2013 18:26

swallowed hang on in there....

AnyaKnowIt · 12/01/2013 18:48

Swallowed Ask them for an 'off the record' chat. See what they say.

I can't work out what the difference between a peado ring and an informal network are either Hmm

OP posts:
Mrcrumpswife · 12/01/2013 19:32

I dont think there is a difference, its just a play on words to distract everyone from the reality that the British establishment has allowed a massive network of paedophiles in high places get away with whatever they wanted.

I have finally managed to get my family interested by mentioning the fact that Jeremy Beadle raised over 100 million for charity and didnt receive Royal honours or the same level of regard as Savile did allegedly because of his tireless charity work. It just shows there had to be far more to Savile than offering 40 million to hospitals for him to reach the dizzy heights of untouchable.

I'm not even sure what forum it was that mentioned Beadles charity work but an off the cuff comment got them thinking. Beadle was far more poplular in the 80's/90's than Savile yet sadly died without any great fanfare. He obviously didnt move in the right circles or know the right infoConfused My Mums ears pricked up without the normal eye roll!! She even asked about her 1960's pop idol, shame he's a pervert aswellShock

Lockedout434 · 12/01/2013 20:06

From the dm ages ago
No ring just a collective then

And from Guy Marsden, Jimmy Savile?s nephew.

At 13, Guy and three friends hitch-hiked to London ?for an adventure?. They returned home about five weeks later but regularly ran away to the capital for similar periods.

On the first trip in 1967, the group of boys went to Euston Station and were quickly invited to a grubby flat by men who recognised them as easy prey, although Guy says he was never abused.

?About four days later?, Jimmy Savile turned up at the flat where they were staying. ?He recognised me and I thought ?this is it, I?m going to get in big trouble here?. I hadn?t been in touch with my parents to tell them where I was. But Uncle Jimmy just took us away to a much better place?. Savile turned up by coincidence at the address because he mixed with ?fellow child molester?, said Guy.

The group of runaways ended up in a fabulous house ? believed to belong to a famous pop impresario ? with a big indoor swimming pool. The celebrity home was one of the party venues.

?At night you would get about 15 or 20 people turning up. There would be music and tables full of food, we couldn?t believe it. There was everything we needed and we just hung around.

?At first we automatically assumed the children lived there, but we soon realised they didn?t. They would be brought there, sometimes by Uncle Jimmy, and would stay for six or seven hours until 3 or 4am. They were just little kids, boys and girls.

?Two or three would go off and come back later. The really strange thing was that they didn?t come out the bedrooms kicking and screaming. None of them seemed to be in any distress, but there is no doubt at all in my mind what they were being used for.

Savile?s nephew Guy said children would be brought to house parties, ?sometimes by Uncle Jimmy, and would stay for six or seven hours until 3 or 4am. They were just little kids, boys and girls.?

?They used to say they were ?playing.? You heard sounds and moans and groans coming from the bedroom and knew what was going on.?

Guy said he believed he and his friends were there to ?keep the kids happy?. He said: ?I didn?t think anything about it at the time, maybe because there was no such thing as paedophiles back then. I never saw Jimmy Savile sexually abuse any of the children, but as far as I am concerned he was part of a paedophile ring at those parties.?

swallowedAfly · 12/01/2013 20:57

it's total semantic bs imo.

informal network means yes they are working together and are a network but what? they're not a ltd company? don't have a shared bank account?

utter nonsense.

i want an informal network of child rapists dealt with, not to be told it's somehow not a big deal because it's not what - formal?
