Guys there is no point arguing with Extro. My DH is a theologian and I regularly get drawn into discussions of this sort (not with him though, thank goodness).

Extro's response will always be based on something we cannot accept because we cannot accept "God says so" as a reason, and extro believes "God says so" is literally incontrovertible.

But you cannot impose your views onto others. If you were a smart pro-life person you would stop trying to argue with people who will never accept anything other than total autonomy over their own bodies and throw yourself into making sure that the number of pregnancies that women needed to terminate was minimized by

• provision of comprehensive sex education
• provision of comprehensive and free contraception and family planning counselling
• provision of a rock-solid social support network to ensure that women and families can financially and socially support the children they have.

If you're still alive now that doesn't count. God comes in after permanent death, and I'm not sure what I believe about NDE's but they are not final judgment.

I am not religeous, live in ireland and have five children. However NOBODY has a right to tell me what to do with MY body and its contents, same as i dont have the right to make the decision for anyone else. When i was pregnant with my oldest child i was living in a country where women have choices re reproductive issues. I was asked whether or not i wanted to go through with the pregnancy. He is an adult now and last saturday we met at the pro choice demonstration in belfast.

One big difference between pro choice and anti choice (aka pro life) is that pro choice respects other peoples views and decisions. If you dont want an abortion, dont have one. But dont tell me what to do.
