I don't tend to lurk. I either read and comment or don't have the time to look.

I am doing quite a bit of work on various issues relating to the historical maltreatment of children and in particular about the problems in Jersey. The US Journalist Leah McGrath Goodman who was banned from the UK because she wished to investigate this (I got her ban reduced from 2 years to 1) has now applied again. All the application was finished on Friday and we now will see whether they reject her again.

If anyone has any allegations about any people committing criminal offences they should make those allegations to the police. I did not comment on either of the two names floating around after Tom Watson's comments. I checked out the Macalpine one and it did not take long to find that it was unlikely (that was before the Guardian reported). The other does not seem to stack up properly either.

There is a lot of solid evidence around. It does not help for people to go off on wild goose chases.

Nigella

I have to admit i have seen both of those names before in the same article weeks ago but cant understand why you wouldnt report immediately before blogging and making it public like BF did.

Then again, we all know how the police havent investigated anything in the past and nothing seems to have changed much when you look at the NHS who havent even started investigating Savile yetConfused

Its a tiny bit unfortunate or convenient that the alleged tapes of the incident were lost in a fire. Seems to be a common theme that evidence is lost or people unexpectedly dieHmm

I hope Leah gets permission to go to Jersey soon. The media seem to be trying to distance this whole thing from HDLG. They must think the public have forgotten whereas i think they are underestimating how many people are watching and waiting for honest answers because they are sick of being bull shitted to.

Somethings got to happen soon.

I am surprised that the domestic media are so little concerned about the banning of a journalist from the Common Travel Area by UKBA.

The Common Travel Area covers the UK, Crown Dependencies and Republic of Ireland. It is our equivalent of Schengen. Yes you can leave the UK and get to another country without a passport - via public transport. (or just walking across the border in Ireland).

John, I am mystified why UK LA's sent children in care out of the UK in the first place, it is bad enough to move them to another part of the country another thing to move them abroad.

Eileen Fairweather did the research on Islington. I had some identified from Birmingham, but this sort of thing is as opaque as you get.

In any event we should be concerned what is happening in Jersey as the UK government is responsible in the end. We should be concerned about human rights anywhere in the world, but places the UK can directly do things about should take a higher priority.

Hi John hemming, do you know if the nhs investigations have started . If not who and why are they stalled.

As for the term lurking in my understanding it's not derogatory it's what most people do on a thread ie read but not post.

The new investigation has been mentioned for jersey.

A good round up of jersey cover up

I can't link to the Ben fellows story and in trying to it knocked out all my open pages.

That story was out ages ago and one of the names was the one I thought would becoming out instead of mac a.

Ben fellows has been dismissed by various commentators as a fantasist and a show off. Sounds familiar.
As I can'tlink in does that mean that the tape has gone missing?

It doesn't mean they haven't witnesses though or are they all dead?

Ben fellows told other researchers at the time so although it his word against ahems he does have corroboration .

Yes I know that story has been out for a while, but i posted the link above because it says that BF went to the police about it a couple of days ago (you need to scroll down).

NigellaI hope the police fully investigate BF claims because i'm amazed KC hasnt stamped his feet and sued him for libel, McA style. It always makes you look guilty if you dont respond but look even guiltier if you take out a super injunction to prevent the media reporting or by suing everyone in sight.

Lets be honest, the accused cant win at the moment but thats the fault of all the lies we know we are being fed. Nobody can work out fact from fiction anymore and it just keeps getting worse.

Why are the media not reporting on Leah McGrath Goodman not being allowed into Jersey or have i missed it?

Well the abused still can't win, it appears anyone who has spoken out has been vilified silenced and mocked.

I would love to have a progress report. It appears that nothing is happening.
Has anybody written to their MP about the non action with the NHS

Mrcrumpswife · 04/12/2012 15:58

I dont think anything is happening which is why they are not reporting or the other alternative is that there are an awful lot of super injunctions being taken out to prevent reporting.

Its all gone very quiet.
