Lockedout - Any news on why you have been locked out?

Lockedout434 · 18/11/2012 22:24

Nope I will have another go and compose a begging letter.
Tis tricky on iPod to view all the links . Hopefully it's me cocking up my password but I will have another mess about.

Darkesteyes · 18/11/2012 22:36

Bloody hell @ the links that have appeared on this thread recently.
On Twitter someone tweeted this.......

Entwhistle £450.000
McAlpine 185.000
14 yr old victim of abuse £7.000

McAlpine was wrongly identified and accused. A sinister undercurrent which really shows up our society for what it is is the way some media outlets and some sections of society kept saying that the victims were only after money.
Havent seen the same outlets saying the same about McAlpine though!

Glad you are ok Bunglie x

This makes me feel ill.
www.express.co.uk/posts/view/359078/New-Cyril-Smith-abuse-claim-by-Martin-Digan
Mr Digan last night said: ?I worked there for a long time and the stories about Cyril resonated throughout the building. To see him bouncing seven-year-old boys up and down on his knee was frightening. The sexual abuse of boys with learning difficulties did become public but no one ever proved anything against Smith. He was a very clever man who covered his tracks very well.?

Mrcrumpswife · 19/11/2012 18:17

I have just seen the BBC news, someone has managed to find the missing police file on Cyril Smith. What a surprise.

Its funny how it only warranted a 30 second piece on the main news almost as an after thoughtAngry

Mrcrumpswife · 19/11/2012 18:24

I'm not sure who is following the DI site but thought i'd post this as its such a different style of writing about the royal family and establishment!

www.hangthebankers.com/prince-philip-is-this-the-sickest-man-in-the-uk/

If they taught history in this style when i was at school it would have been a lot more interesting. The odd thing is its factually correct with all of the family links.

ChazsBrilliantAttitude · 19/11/2012 18:42

MrsC but isn't most of that info in the public domain?

There was a Ch4 programme about the Bowes-Lyon cousins a year ago.
www.channel4.com/programmes/the-queens-hidden-cousins/episode-guide/series-1/episode-1

Its well known that Edward VIII was a nazi sympathiser that's thought to be the real reason he was forced to abdicate not Wallis Simpson.

Again its well known that Prince Phillip's sisters were fascists but he did join the Navy and fought for the allies in WWII so arguably he picked his side.

Mrcrumpswife · 19/11/2012 19:16

All of it is in the public domain, it just doesnt contain the normal compassionate spin that is written in the history books. Its much more to the point!

The attitude to disability hurts, especially when i look at DS and see what he achieves everyday.

I watched the CH4 Bowes-Lyon programme and was very shocked. I hadnt read about the sisters before.

LineRunner · 19/11/2012 19:34

I've just read half of it and what Beer just said ^^

Also a wry smile at 'Who would make a film about Edward VIII?' Erm, Madonna?

MrsjREwing · 19/11/2012 19:48

MrsC, yes I read a lot of that already and saw some programmes. Odly Phil's Mum saved Jews in WW2, odd her and Phill were on opposite sides as his Sisters.

OP posts:
Mrcrumpswife · 19/11/2012 19:49

it devalues it imo, as it's just pretty common historical knowledge (although I appreciate it's new to many) couched in hateful terms

But thats the whole point, we read things in a certain style everyday that is presented to us by the mainstream media, very tastefully written with whatever spin the author deems to put on it. We are all so desensitised to it we barely read whats in front of us and skim through without questioning what we have read. All of the reports of abuse over the years have been sat right in front of us by people like Nick Davies and Eileen fairweather yet for some reason we havent put it together into one giant miserable story.

In that article its written so straight and harsh without the dressing that the mainstream presents that you read it properly and question it and quite rightly critisise.

I dont understand how all of this information was out there and we all missed it over 30 years when it was in the papers sat in front of us every morning.

ladymuckbeth · 19/11/2012 19:50

Occasional poster on this thread but have to agree with BeerTricks - that article really does nothing for the cause. And laughing just a bit at the thought that no-one dare make a film about Edward VIII - there have been loads of the buggers.

I flick through the DI site occasionally and it does throw up some interesting links and discussions. It's not without its fruitloop quotient though...

Xenia · 19/11/2012 19:52

It was how it was in its time.

In the light of your discussion this is a grin link
www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2232357/Retired-Church-England-bishop-Peter-Ball--80-arrested-child-sex-abuse-allegations-Diocese.html

Apprently peter ball was a loyal friend of prince charles

Lockedout434 · 19/11/2012 22:52

It makes you think what did Paul Burrell say to the queen to stop that trial .

MrsjREwing · 19/11/2012 22:55

So Charles was close to Savile and this man arrested for child abuse, Wow he picks dodgy characters to spend time with.

OP posts:
Lockedout434 · 20/11/2012 02:56

Just looking around and a pattern appears
The accusation strong enough to stop a trial

Intimidation and threat - read the comments PB's family is threatened and he is going to court for the publicity ??

Then the trapping of a weak and vulnerable witness .
There are a few accusations in these articles that make you blink. Especially the naming in the guardian

Xenia · 20/11/2012 11:41

I don't think it's fair to say Prince Charles picks dodgy characters to spend time with. Many many people supported Savile's charity work and plenty of them did not know what Savile appears to have been up to.

Mrcrumpswife · 20/11/2012 12:49

Not many charity supporters chose to stay with Savile in his Highland home as far as we know, unlike Charles. Havent seen any picks of Esther up there yet.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2222878/Jimmy-Savile-scandal-Inside-paedophiles-Glencoe-lair-20-suffered-abuse.html

You also have to remember that Prince Charles and the Royal family pay vast amounts of money to have anyone close to them vetted. Beats me how they missed JS indiscretions especially when you see the link below which states that they started more detailed screening back in 1951! Nobody can argue that those behind the scenes didnt know what JS was up to. They have all crawled out of the woodwork over the last 6 weeks.

trove.nla.gov.au/ndp/del/article/23064844

Considering the Royals have paid up to 128 million pounds on an annual security bill, it makes you wonder if they need to employ someone else to check people out. They seem to be unfortunate enough to keep employing paedophiles/sex offenders/blackmailers, aswell as choosing them as personal friends.

www.dailymail.co.uk/debate/columnists/article-228750/CHARLES-ON-THE-RACK.html

It really must be terribly frustrating for the Royals to keep having their name dragged through the mud because someone hasnt done their homework on their behalf. Jimmy savile was just one of many dodgy characters that slipped through the net for Prince Charles.
