I was phoned today by a survivor from HDLG who is grateful to those such as bunglie for revealing the coverup. Thank you from me as well.

Thats a relief. He seems to suffer so much during the nightsSad

member · 14/11/2012 17:02

Wow, thanks Bunglie - it must have taken a lot to speak in the first place & then to have the programme makers delve into every aspect of you before Exposure went to air, that takes strength.

Remember, before everything went haywire with the Bryn Estyn thing, the testimonies of you & others on Exposure prompted loads of others who had suffered in silence for years, to reach out & get help.

I hope Steve is getting support & that the BBC aren't just saying that to appease people - who knows Sad There are obviously people on Twitter who have historical issues with SM who are berating him for opening up old scars on one hand, yet saying that the truth needs to be exposed on the other?

I also think Mark Williams-Thomas is a good guy & I'm sure he's become a point of contact for many. These thoughts are a bit random & I'm not sure quite where I'm going except that I think an over-arching enquiry rather than piecemeal is the way to go.

NapDamnYou · 14/11/2012 18:02

Big respect to Bunglie and everyone affected by this, families, friends, all of you.

TheLightPassenger · 14/11/2012 18:10

bunglie - thanks for posting. I believe you, and have always believed you. I was on this site many years ago when you posted about the MSBP issues (you probably won't remember me but I was mummy to steven), and have often over the years wondered how you were getting on. best wishes to you x

Tipsandshoots · 14/11/2012 18:14

Bunglie
Well done you. For all your bravery and strength.
You have done a massive thing, you may have with a bit of luck changed the way children will be protected in the future .
By raising awareness and allowing people to speak and to ensure people listen you may have chagedthe future of many children.
I hope now people will listen to children and believe.

I also want to apologise for all the crap you have to go through now.
Through our need to find out information, the need to do something you are being hounded for the want of a story in the papes, or for a
sound bite.
There is the press complain commission t ( toothless and a lot crap) but at least an e-mail to them . Your MP surely would make a fuss for you( they probably would want to appear helpful at this time.
Good luck ,
Keep safe and look after yourself and thanks for your selflessness.

Dededum · 14/11/2012 18:35

Bunglie its good to hear you trust the police. Having read some of the Waterhouse report it has really skewed my opinion of them aswell.

I hope they keep you informed of whats happening so you don't have to rely on half truths via the press.

The support Steve Messham received after that awful article in the DM at the weekend was unbelievable. If they thought it would be well received they misjudged it badly. Nearly every comment was slamming into the bad journalism.

People are listening and are very aware.

JH is the best one to ask about parliamentary privilege.

AnyaKnowIt · 14/11/2012 20:32

Bunglie Thank you for speaking out, I admire your bravery Smile

I believe you

I want to say well done too Bunglie.

Just saying the truth takes a lot of guts sometimes, when you know it's going to set off a lot of consequences. I hope it brings justice for all those abused one step closer.

johnhemming · 14/11/2012 20:58

bunglie - if you want to email me. I am the only person that looks at my emails.

edam · 14/11/2012 23:39

Bunglie! I remember you very well indeed. How are things? I'm so sorry to hear you are involved in this distressing case and have been bothered by people contacting you but agree with everyone else in saying thank you for speaking out.

i'm afraid i can't agree with the idea that kids today in care are fine or the idea that things have gone too far with child protection. too many recent cases for that nice as it would be to believe.

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2232742/Michael-Souter-Former-BBC-Radio-Norfolk-presenter-charged-sexually-abusing-underage-boys.html

This seems strange that he has been investigated before and only this time the cps is going forward

Apparently MI5 has the file it's not lost.. That will confirm a lotof conspiracy theories.

Mac alpine is close to agreeing a settlement from the bbc for newsnight report.
I don't know why but it doesn't feel right.
Hope patten is pulling the old boy club strings to reduce the money paid out to the millionaire macalpine .
Macalpine does sound ill. I wonder why he didn't sue before when it's been In the public domain for years.

Tipsandshoots · 15/11/2012 06:22

Bunglie there is a huge case going through in Manchester at the moment.

Unfortunately it quite contemporary. It won't be reported for a bit they have to go through the case.

Abra1d · 15/11/2012 07:07

Unfortunately making people pay out a lot of money is the only thing that works sometimes if you want to make sure a story is not repeated. Perhaps he will give the money to charity.
