I've just heared the news that he has been captured, alive. DNA tests have been done and proven it is him, and Irquis are celibrating. And to be honest, so am I.

I don't believe in capital punishment, but I will not shed any tears over this one if the Irqaui people disagree with me.

absolutely sickening but I am not surprised either
How will Donald get out of this one?

I'm no Bush-supporter, but I have to admit that I find a lot of the comments in this thread offensive, especially on how 'American' this whole thing has been played.

well, whatever punishment is meted out will never, ever be enough. BTW dadslib you are wrong in your statement that Iraq is subject to Sharia law - it isn't.Under Saddam it was always run by military( and totally made up as he went along) law.I'm not sure what legal systems are being put into place now , but in fact there are many Moslem countries which do not have sharia law.Thank the Lord (IMO).

I agree with you tinyfeet.Anti Americanism is so damn trendy though, hey!

heard a woman on Radio4 yesterday who survived the (I think Halabja) massacre in iraq, saying he shouldn't be executed, rather he should be humiliated on tv every now & then. sounds fair enough.

Donnie, the irony of it all is that anti-Americanism is what started this all in the first place - right? The 'legal' issues will be very interesting to follow.

donnie · 16/12/2003 15:01

yes indeed tinyfeet; personally I am torn between feeling the fairest, most scrupulous justice should be appropriated, and that he should just be let loose, unarmed, on the streets of Bagdhad and left for the crowds to deal with. This anti Americanism is interesting though.I am no Bush lover either and believe Al Gore should actually be in the White house, but it is ludicrous to see people in Trafalgar square burning effigies of Blair and Bush while Al -Qaeda are blowing people up in Istanbul.Where are the burning effigies of the Al- Qaeda murderers? anyway I'm rambling as usual and have probably made even more enemies so I'll shut up!
