Terrible, poor babies :'(

With someone arrested for murder, the idea that they died as a result of an arson attack rather than a tragic accident is even more shocking.

the father is the bloke that was on the telly a few years ago, he had 18 kids, not that that makes it any less tragic.

So sad. They have arrested someone else now.

A man and a woman have been arrested.

I saw a picture on the news and I recognised the man from the TV.

Morph2 - Not all of the 18 are biologically his, I don't think. He stated "I love all my children more than life itself including the ones who are not my flesh and blood". The Police and Fire Service commended his bravery in trying to get the children out, it must have been awful for him.

Most recent, the children's name and photo released Poor little ones.

I'm interested Derbys I only heard about this on my way home from work and no nothing of the details.

House fire is up there with those situations that fill me with dread.

Poor poor children and their families.

The father has been tabloid fodder for years.
He's been on Jeremy Kyle and a programme with Anne Widdicombe and I have to admit he came across as utterly feckless, but a loving father.
Five of his children, it doesn't bear thinking about.
This is going to keep the tabloids in sales for months.
I just hope that he is left in peace to grieve.

His poor wife too. She appears to have lost all of her children bar one who is fighting for his life in hospital. No one deserves to suffer like this no matter what they've done.

May all of those children rest in peace.

It's truly horrible, I can't imagine how devastated the parents must be to have lost their children.

It's so so tragic.

I tell you what though, some of the comments I read on the yahoo page about it made me sick to my stomach.

Just when I thought I couldn't have a lower opinion of some people, there they go, showing me the barrel had a false bottom.

Not just on Yahoo Hecate.
What possible difference does his lifestyle make, 5 children are dead.

How his wife is ever going to find the strength to deal with this is beyond me, losing your 5 children, hoping the oldest will pull through. This fills me with fear, I love my children and being a parent but the pain if it all goes wrong like this is overwhelming and terrifying.

I believe it's his ex girlfriend and her new partner who have been arrested.

How horrific, poor kids and poor family. I don't know how they will cope

I know it's not the same situation at all, but the comments I read online when Michelle Duggar miscarried her twentieth baby were along the same lines. A load of nastiness about people being irresponsible for having so many children, judgmental comments on how they pay for them all etc etc. Regardless of opinion on large families, lives have been lost and for anyone to use this as a soapbox for their views is hideous.

They are suffering unimaginable loss. People should let them grieve without a social commentary on their reproductive choices. It's disgusting how nasty some people have been about the family.

If it his ex that is responsible how fucking hateful must she be? Not only are 5 kids dead but her children have lost 5 of their siblings.

The ex apparently lived there until a week ago, so not only are her kids half-siblings of the dead children, but she lived with those kids for years and was their sort-of step-mum How could she?

I've just read that the two people arrested have been released without charge. I hope they can find out what did cause it, I hope nobody did do it deliberately - they are still treating it as suspicious

Friends and community trying to raise funds for the 5 funerals. The expense and logistics of having to take care of them while grieving and holding out for their eldest who is hospital in a completely different city thankfully, their other family and community members are trying to help them with that.

The fund hasn't been set up yet, but it's said it will likely go through the family's church - contact details at bottom.

Heart braking totally heartbreaking

The 6th child. Duwayne is to have his life support switched off. I can't imagine what those parents are going through.

What an awful thing. I can't imagine anything worse.
