I can't help being cynical with this woman, she has proven herself to be so devious in the past. Looks like she is intent on making us all like her so she gets to sit with Charles as his queen :(

LOL I know my opinion counts for nothing but considering how she and Charles arranged his first wedding whilst sleeping together before and after , it seems so calculating. People have affairs, people get divorced but this behaviour was on a different level. This spin of her as a doting granny with a wicked sense of humour somehow seems to absolve her past behaviour. I can't understand it. PS Charles is as culpable.

If so that is terribly outdated particularly as Charles is also divorced.

But none of that is relevant in a hereditary monarchy (and god knows, nothing they did is that bad on a historical scale). Charles inherits throne, Camilla is married to Charles, bish bosh, she is the queen consort.

In a nod to public sensibility, she may not take the title but she is entitled (no pun intended) to do so.

I would suggest you start campaigning for the abolition of the monarchy.

Princes William and Harry are reported to be happy with her, and always look at ease when seen with her. I don't think there's a need to have greater scruples than they do.

Oh and the Princes met her way before it was reported in the press and do get on very well with her

I would like her to be queen. No, I haven't always liked her, but I think she was always the ideal woman for Charles, and it was just his hesitancy in getting together with her before she married Parker-Bowles that started all the problems. And I don't think he was wrong to be hesitant, considering the upheaval for anyone who marries into the royal family.

In terms of the 'In the News' aspect of the story (accepting this isn't in AIBU!) - I think this is what the OP is referring to. Camilla has created a recipe challenge to make a menu 'fit for THE Queen' (not 'a' queen).

Is it part of a PR campaign to make it more palatable to the Great British Public that someone other than Diana gets to be Queen when / if Charles takes the throne? Maybe. I can't quite honestly imagine Camilla being the sort of person to give a toss about that - it might matter more to Charles.

The women of the family tend to live for a long time (the queen certainly doesn't look like she's going anywhere anytime soon) but the men of the royal family all seem to die youngish (obvs not prince philip). If the queen last another 10 years Charles will be about 74 before he becomes king, it might just go straight to William

Oh FFs. It's her mother in law's anniversary. All of them will be allocated something to "do". Each and every one of them will have the whole year planned out in detail. It's ALL about making the Royal Family more popular. It wasn't that long ago that half the monarchs in Europe were deposed and our Windsors realised they needed to put a bit of effort into it.

Don't get me wrong, I'm no monarchist, but it's not all about one woman.

I like her. I think her and Charles have been in love for the best part of 40 years, but he wasn't allowed to be with her as Queenie saw too many similarities with her uncle who had to abdicate to marry his divorcee lover. There is no way she would have let her son, as heir to the throne, follow the same path.

He was ultimately kept away from the woman he loved and forced to marry someone he didn't - I feel sorry for them, and am really pleased that they've managed to be together eventually.
