Hi all I am just posting this in order to keep Joannes name in the public domain- This case is very mysterious and so far the police have no real leads although her parents suspect she has been abducted!

The link is below-

www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1341106/Distraught-parents-Jo-Yeates-plead-help-finding-missing-architect-daughter.html

Hopefully someone has the information needed to bring Joanna hope safe and well- her parents are distraught!

TDada - there will be all kinds of things, written by all kinds of people, on the internet. It's life. The family know that and they will choose whether to do searches or not and will then choose whether to read stuff or not.

Lovecat - I'm really sorry to hear about your brother x

TDada · 27/12/2010 18:11

ChippingIn - yes, but I think that shouldn't be an excuse for bad manners and good grace.

TDada · 27/12/2010 18:13

If a family has suffered such tragic loss, then it is not too difficult a sign of sympathy and respect for us to be measured and considerate?

ChippingIn · 27/12/2010 18:16

TDada - I don't think there is any need for you to ask adults to mind their manners with the implication being that you are the only thoughtful person on here - I find that quite rude tbh. You aren't a moderator and telling other people how to behave isn't your place. I'm sure you meant well, but...

IAmReallyFabNow · 27/12/2010 18:17

Surely there can only be your way of reacting to news like this, not the perceived right way of someone not involved.

TDada · 27/12/2010 18:19

was your post in answer to mine IAmReallyFabNow ?

If so, I am not suggesting there is an absolue right and wrong. I am just appealing for people to show empathy and good manners.

TDada · 27/12/2010 18:22

ChippingInNow - please allow me to express the view that it is bad manners to write inconsiderate of the family members /friends. That is my view and I don't feel that I have been agressive or offensive in expressing it?

IAmReallyFabNow · 27/12/2010 18:22

No TDada, just what came to me when reading some of the posts.

TDada · 27/12/2010 18:23

ChippingInNow - understood

Sky news reporting that the cause of death cannot be determined.

I've said it before but am not convinced she was murdered(, and if she had been, the injuries would be more noticeable.

CaveMum · 27/12/2010 19:14

If they cannot find footage of her walking across the bridge than I am sorry to say that I am of the belief that she WAS murdered. As others have pointed out you CAN get to Failand from Clifton via routes other than the Suspension Bridge, but it would honestly take hours to get there.

Some reports suggest her body may have only been in Failand a short while (perhaps dumped the night before) as the area is popular with dog walkers and it is unlikely that she would have lain undiscovered for almost a week. Of course that is pure speculation on my part.

FlightoftheCrimbleTree · 27/12/2010 19:15

I think it means 'still unknown' because they have not released the results of the post mortem, Wannabe.

None of it makes much sense given the information we have in the public domain.

There are a lot of things I don't get, even with what we have been told. So presumably someone somewhere has far more idea than any of us does. I really hope so.

PercyPigPie · 27/12/2010 19:22

Re the postmortem - DH was pointing out that the body would probably have to thaw first Sad. Horrible.

I am totally shocked by her death not least becuase I know the areas being talked about and it seems to bring it closer.

Wannabe,How do you know what condition the body was,or wasn't in? I thought those details hadn't been released yet.

FlightoftheCrimbleTree · 27/12/2010 19:42

Shhh, of course. Good on you for keeping it to yourself, it must be weird knowing things you can't share.

I just will say one thing...the flat is bothering me,

Saying that they knew how she was, the sort of things she would do, and therefore the state of the flat made them think she had been taken.
But the flat wasn't untouched since she had gone, her boyfriend was there for a few hours before her parents saw it. And presumably it didn't seem odd to him, the state of it?

Presumably he didn't touch anything, also.

I don't understand that.

gah.

exexpat · 27/12/2010 19:43

Various stories around the place say there were no obvious signs of injury, eg in the Telegraph here. But it's all speculation and there are obviously things that have not been made public.

I live within a mile or so of where she lived, and I am just hoping that if the police had reason to suspect she was abducted by a stranger she opened the door to, they might have put out some kind of warning by now.

Thankyou Exexpat. All I'd heard was that the body was fully clothed when discovered.

FlightoftheCrimbleTree · 27/12/2010 19:51

yes Shhh that is a terrible, terrible thing Sad

Sorry to repeat your comments, I hadn't noticed them earlier. I'm glad it isn't just me.

Maybe when it is all over it will make some kind of sense...in a way.

ShhhhSantaiscoming · 27/12/2010 19:54

great minds and all that Wink

exexpat · 27/12/2010 20:01

Quite detailed story in the local paper here.

MoonUnitAlpha · 27/12/2010 20:07

Seems like a fair old walk to do as a late night drunken wander - at least an hour?

SleightiesChick · 27/12/2010 21:31

I assume there is a lot the police aren't making public in order to have the best possible chance of finding the guilty party (and it seems pretty likely to me there is one) in the face of the press pushing for every little detail. If it means they find who did it, I am fine with not knowing any more. But surely there must be a good chance of following a trail that will lead them to a possible killer. There will be DNA evidence, phone records, CCTV all to be checked... it may take time but surely something will point up what actually happened. Cases like Madeleine McCann and Claudia Lawrence are pretty rare, aren't they?
