I think she should have been told to get off the bus for calling her kid D'Marion.

Otherwise the driver and all the people who commented should just fuck the fuck off and mind their own business.

Iklboo · 11/08/2010 14:35

I'd have like to have seen the driver make me get off the bus.

greenbananas · 11/08/2010 14:43

Oh dear, oh dear...

However, I've just read the first few pages of comments on this article and they weren't all bad. Okay, so a few were quite incredibly bigoted, but most comments were in support of this mum.

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/08/2010 14:48

Good on a young girl BFing.

I would have refused to have got off the bus. Actually would I? Confronted by a ranting old bus driver and other tutters on the bus?

Hope CCTV backs this up, unlike that similar case in bristol some time back in which the mother made it all up.

D'Marion, though...

bronze · 11/08/2010 14:52

wonder if he was taking the no eating on the bus rule to extremes

It is quite scary to read those comments - put it in a bottle ffs.

I never even bother to cover myself/baby with a blanket, as long as my top is covering the top of my breast and baby is covering the nipple I think that's quite sufficient.

Women get a lot more naked on the beach and no one seems to mind that

cornsilk1010 · 11/08/2010 15:08

It's in the daily mail as well. I like this girl - she is funny. I like this bit ...
'He said you can either 'put them away', which didn't make sense because he couldn't see anything, or 'get off the bus'

also

'They bang on about breastfeeding and nag you to do it all your way through pregnancy like it can stop wars in the Middle East or something.'

Stretch · 11/08/2010 15:18

Are they going to ban The Sun and Daily Star newspapers as well?? No? I have sat before on a bus with my children behind a man ogling page 3. Sick.

Good on her. I would have liked to see him make me move too! In fact, I may have to bf next time on a bus and see what happens!

Feenie · 11/08/2010 15:21

Don't read the comments at the bottom of the Mail article, unless you enjoy getting really pissed off. I only read six of them and my blood pressure must be at boiling point! Fuckwits.

Stretch · 11/08/2010 15:24

I enjoy using my red arrow!

I saw this on the news board outside the shop earlier and knew it would be discussed here. I shall refrain from comment until the CCTV footage is seen.

bronze · 11/08/2010 16:07

I wonder if all the people who say 'just express' have ever tried it

bronze · 11/08/2010 16:08

I'm liking how the arrows are going

bronze · 11/08/2010 16:11

taken from the mail comments
I don't doubt that sometimes a mother may be caught out and has to breast feed in public. It may also be legal, but I still find it offensive. Berate me all you wish but I can't change my feelings about such things - and clearly I am not alone. It seems this lady had a mile to go on the bus. For the sake of a mile, a few minutes bus ride, was it really necessary? The discretion and sensitivity should not be all one sided. She didn't have to get off the bus - she could have just stopped, perhaps used a dummy for a few minutes. I think the bus driver had a fair point.

  • Cllr Chris Cooke, Tamworth, UK, 11/8/2010 14:10

shall we get him on for a webchat?

Ronaldinhio · 11/08/2010 16:16

for Christ's sake doesn't she know that breasts are purely for the enjoyment of men??
preferably within the confines of a porn situation?

the only exception to this is saint gisele bundchen...

PueriSimilisCanis · 11/08/2010 16:19

I'm going to reserve judgement til we get more info

AnyFucker · 11/08/2010 16:20

i think I shall have to take up breastfeeding on buses

I don't have a baby though < damn >

hugglymugly · 11/08/2010 16:23

BBC news site is saying that the bus company deny the allegation and which isn't showing up on CCTV.

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 11/08/2010 16:33

people who say use a dummy for a moment haven't met my DD,she is the picture of perfectness,,as long as she is not hungry,i HAD to BB yesterday at a sushi place,we were sitting outside, and no boob was showing coz i covered myself,,MIL was horrified, told me i shouldn't do it,,DH said she was crazy to even mention it,,in Norway, they guilty trip you into breastfeeding,,its their motto but MIL has other ideas,,i could go on

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 11/08/2010 16:34

anyway will comment on this later

FallingWithStyle · 11/08/2010 16:35

Eurgh...the comments! Pond life. Some people really need to get on with dying out.

Amazed how this has all turned out exactly like the Bristol 'incident'. How very very odd.

D'Marion indeed...Grin
