I think she should have been told to get off the bus for calling her kid D'Marion.

Otherwise the driver and all the people who commented should just fuck the fuck off and mind their own business.

I'd have like to have seen the driver make me get off the bus.

However, I've just read the first few pages of comments on this article and they weren't all bad. Okay, so a few were quite incredibly bigoted, but most comments were in support of this mum.

I would have refused to have got off the bus. Actually would I? Confronted by a ranting old bus driver and other tutters on the bus?

Hope CCTV backs this up, unlike that similar case in bristol some time back in which the mother made it all up.

I never even bother to cover myself/baby with a blanket, as long as my top is covering the top of my breast and baby is covering the nipple I think that's quite sufficient.

I don't doubt that sometimes a mother may be caught out and has to breast feed in public. It may also be legal, but I still find it offensive. Berate me all you wish but I can't change my feelings about such things - and clearly I am not alone. It seems this lady had a mile to go on the bus. For the sake of a mile, a few minutes bus ride, was it really necessary? The discretion and sensitivity should not be all one sided. She didn't have to get off the bus - she could have just stopped, perhaps used a dummy for a few minutes. I think the bus driver had a fair point.
