FallingWithStyle · 11/08/2010 16:45

MrsChemist - I believe the correct pronunciation is poor kid...

TooBlessedToBeStressed · 11/08/2010 16:50

MrsChemist · 11/08/2010 16:53

ROFL Falling Grin

GetOrfMoiLand · 11/08/2010 17:14

I breastfed my daughter all over he place 14 odd years ago, nobody evr said anything to me. I just got a load of old dears nodding and smiling.

Morloth · 11/08/2010 17:16

Why does no-one ever bother me? It isn't fair! I am bored and would love a good bargy, but I just get kind smiles.

bronze · 11/08/2010 17:19

Morloth

I was lining up my good retorts in case it happened to me but it never has and ds 3 is 15 mths and rarely feeds out so I'm not going to get the chance to give a twassack a piece of my mind

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2010 17:26

Wow again?? Confused

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2010 17:28

Do you know what annoys me most about this story?
The "Do you think mothers should be allowed to breastfeed in public?" debate style links at the bottom
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

ah that feels better

Maybe we should have debates about whether middle aged men in suits can jiggle their bits through their pockets in public? Or whether elderly ladies are allowed in public with blue rinse

nickelbabe · 11/08/2010 17:39

omg.

here we go again.

:(

I wonder what she would have to gain by lying though?

If she is lying, she's just made herself look like a right tit, going to the newspapers.

MrsChemist · 11/08/2010 18:00

And I know the buses that travel that route, and most of them are modern buses, that make no secret of the fact that they are full of CCTV cameras.

AnyFucker · 11/08/2010 18:01

attention, MrsC

some people will do anything for 5 mins of "fame"

I dunno if she is lying though, I can't be arsed to read the link, tbh

it's all been said before, innit

FallingWithStyle · 11/08/2010 18:06

Well it looks like she is lying and if that is the case then I can only think she wants a bit of attention and isn't the brightest spark.
Can just imagine the conversation where she was told the whole journey was on CCTV and sound recorded... Doh!

MrsChemist · 11/08/2010 18:06

I suppose AF, I just struggle to understand why anyone would go to such lengths just to get their pictures in the local rag.

I mean, if she was angling for some sort of monetary compensation, or freebies from the company, then I could perhaps understand it.

Then again, many she thought the CCTV was just pictures and not sound. Easier to fool people then.

StealthPolarBear · 11/08/2010 19:12

falling, why does it look like she was lying?

gingerkirsty · 11/08/2010 19:30

PMSL at 'Gary' who left the second comment, saying that he winks at breastfeeding mothers - now that would freak me out!!!

Yes, Gary's cheeky wink made me crings too... perv!

Ponders · 11/08/2010 20:41

Another one here reserving judgment Hmm

I thought the bus company's comments were spot on

'We fully support mothers who wish to breastfeed their babies. There are clear health benefits from breastfeeding and we are more than happy for mothers to do so on our bus services. We are taking this matter extremely seriously and are carrying out a thorough investigation into this case, including a review of CCTV evidence from our buses. We are extremely sorry for the way this situation appears to have been handled.'

Ponders · 11/08/2010 20:48

well, I didn't have long to wait Grin

I just looked at the Mail link & it now says:

Tonight a spokesman for Stagecoach Manchester said: 'We fully support mothers who wish to breastfeed their babies. There are clear health benefits from breastfeeding and we are more than happy for mothers to do so on our bus services.
'We have now carried out a thorough review of CCTV footage from our buses based on the information provided to us by the mother concerned, and have also spoken to regular passengers on the route to try and obtain more details about the circumstances involved in this case.
'While we have identified the customer boarding the service as described, the voice-enabled CCTV footage quite clearly shows that there was no dialogue between the mother and the driver at any point during the journey regarding her decision to breastfeed her baby on board the service.
'The footage simply does not match the events described by the customer.
'Our position on this issue remains very clear - we are more than happy for mothers to breastfeed their babies on board our bus services.'

there was no dialogue between the mother and the driver at any point during the journey regarding her decision to breastfeed her baby on board the service

Do people still not know there is CCTV on buses?

hugglymugly · 11/08/2010 20:49

Stealth: falling is probably referring to the bbc website:

A spokeswoman for Stagecoach Manchester said: "We have now carried out a thorough review of CCTV footage from our buses, based on the information provided to us by the mother concerned, and have also spoken to regular passengers on the route to try and obtain more details about the circumstances involved in this case.

"While we have identified the customer boarding the service as described, the voice-enabled CCTV footage quite clearly shows that there was no dialogue between the mother and the driver."
