right,back from nursery drop off.....

Have received letter in reply to my 2nd letter about dd's acident at school. It is more suitably grovellingly apologetic, but states openly that prior to dd's accident, they didn't have a written policy for the assesment and management of head injuries I can't believe a school wouldn't have a procedure in place for this.
Also, the letter itself is incredibly badly written, with 10 spelling and gramatical errors, including spelling dd's name wrong twice
Is it any wonder this school can't teach dd3 to read????,...
fed up of everything being such a struggle, and the world being full of incompetent people LOL

ok...rant over....BBL

dylsmum1998 · 26/05/2010 13:20

MickyLee · 26/05/2010 14:14

OFM I can't believe your DC's school and the badly written letter!!! I am far from a perfect speller but I would expect school toget it right.. I don't blame you for ranting.

Just got to organise what to pack now and Iron what needs taking plus enough clothes for DH while we are away.

We have no TV at the moment.. so going to find it hard to get packed while DC are not entertained.

I've just got to get on with Washing now

BBL

swanriver · 26/05/2010 15:55

Done
piano lesson
bought dd her leggings from Peacocks
grovelling apology to chief catechist for losing dts communion books, and signing off myself as future catechist I think this has been straw to break this camel's back much as I enjoyed the sessions

now
take ds2 to his piano lesson
dh is back at 5.30 so need to destress before he appears in bad mood from doctor
still need to buy main supper ingredient

OFM I'm amazed they don't have a protocol, I thought all school were now so entrenched in paperwork that they would have been waving one at you and pretending they had followed it.

Wolfcub · 26/05/2010 18:54

ofm that's appalling, they should have a head injury policy, mum's school had one was back in the 80s. Also shocked at the lack of care they took with the letter. I'd write back and recommend that 1. they get a head injury policy pronto and why didn't they have one already and 2. that the school secretary uses spellcheck and proof reads all her letters

swan don't worry about the odd socks. DS always has odd socks even though I endeavour to buy packs of socks that are the same!

micky yuck at the bathroom, makes me feel pleased that mine isn't that bad

Can I join the phonics-haters club. I hear ds saying letters phonetically (thanks nursery!) and it makes me cringe.

MickyLee · 26/05/2010 19:31

wolf thank goodness for Swish and swipe
ofm I agree with wolfcub.. make a stance!

Well i got a shock tonight when my muslim DH came home with a nice bottle of red .. his french customers gave it to him. He has never drank except on our frist date 4 years ago.. I have a glass or two when i go out for a meal but nearly fell of the chair when he opened it and said 'lets have a glass' Bless him.. must know he will miss me while i am away.

As for my day all done except not quite finished the ironing.. so boring without a TV

wendyhappysmile · 26/05/2010 20:41

ML That's sweet of your DH ... have you enjoyed the wine?.
The teacher who wrote that letter has been teaching phonics so long they have started to spell that way ... LOL. Honestly, that's my catchphrase 'GRR is the whole world incompetent?!!' I hate bad spelling and grammar especially in school when they are writing a formal letter

Scan was all fine - baby all present and correct. We have finally told DD and DS who took it really well. DD immediately said she wanted to sort her toys and give the baby ones to the baby ... bless.
See you tomorrow

Morning all

could have swore I posted on here yesterday although I was having PC probs so maybe a gremlin in the system. Good day yesterday, had an extra session at the gym - I've started the couch to 5K podcast to get me running and I'm on week 2 with no knee or hip probs so far. Managed to get housework tasks done and then went to my last sign language class - quite sad but will mean that I will have a full day to myself. Just need to do the exam week after 1/2 term. We all arranged to go to dogs after exams so should be fun but sad as others are carrying on together to next level but I can't cos of PGCE course.

Todays jobs

  • 1 load of washing (all I have powder for before shops)
  • Dinner for all
  • DD to nursery - Last day for 2 weeks - no idea how I'm gonna fill the time
  • To shops for essentials (washing powder and beans according to DH)
  • More washing
  • Tidy understairs
  • Paperwork mountain
  • online banking
  • DD to ballet - she has been warned not to mess as she is still saying she can't walk proberly on her leg - but was running and jumping tuesday - I've told her that her ballet teacher won't stand for messing (they are very strict)
  • Whats for tea (no idea)
  • Friend coming round for Uni prep night

BBL with individuals - have no time now

dylsmum1998 · 27/05/2010 23:04

finished my list and I didn't just start the dress for dd, I finished it! I was sewing the beading on while ds did his jujitsu and one of the mums was so impressed she suggested I make them and sell them to others, shame she had teenagers. I have been thinking about it all evening and am tempted to try as I do enjoy sewing.

MC hope your hip and knee continue to behave

hoping the weather behaves tomorrow as we are planning a trip to legoland and dc are very excited .

Ds has just had a nosebleed so have cleaned the carpets of his blood am off now to check on him and go to bed.

Night all

Makingchanges · 27/05/2010 23:17

Makingchanges · 27/05/2010 23:18

Dyls - I definately think you should if you have the time to fit it in. - Enjoy Legoland

swanriver · 27/05/2010 23:25

Did you use a pattern Dyls?

I wish Boden would sell trademarked patterns for some of their clothes, it would be nice to make up some of the dresses/skirts in one's own fabric, (I mean ladies' styles..)

Busy day, two hours at dentist, so glad I got something done to my fading gnashers.
Assembly this am at school with dd doing wonderful dancing (despite having given up ballet a year ago - it obviously had left graceful traces] and ds2 was the Holy Spirit For once he was extremely pleased with his part (no speaking just FLAMES)

Out for a party at another cousin this evening.
Have come home to find dd had defaced ds1's homework book Dh and I have repaired it. She wrote a rude message to his teacher - under his description of Victorian children in factories. oh dear.
Better stop going out.
Just waiting for uniform to finish washing

One more day of fun filled organisation and then joyful chaos rules

wendyhappysmile · 28/05/2010 08:12
