Morning all

scatty Oh no! poor ds. LOL at DD though...saw an opportunity and seized it!Bless her Meals out are always eventful when we try...hence they're very rare!(well that and the cost for 8 people LOL)
nutty sounds like a wise move on flower market.shame though

well, sister arriving this afternoon..should be tidying but being lazy instead...she cantake us as she finds us!

was hoping to get a bit more done in the garden today...but looking quite grey and threatening so we'll see...

loads to do but cant be bothered LOL

OFM Feel the same. Still in pink dressing gown and bed sock. I am going to make another cuppa!

scattyspice · 02/05/2010 09:48

Mmm Sexy nutty .

Hoping for a garden day today too. Trying to rally DC for a quick trip to B&Q first (they are not keen).

scattyspice · 02/05/2010 13:31

Anybody else freezing?

Have spent the morning digging out a border and planting 72 misc bedding plants with DC (am considering hiring DS out to the council to plant up the roundabouts, he is an excellent planter).

DD is insisting on wearing her cagoul indoors (even over lunch).

Dh has studied the 'teach your child to ride' link from nutty (thanks nutty) and has taken ds out for training before he takes his stabilisers off (he's had them on for 3 yrs!). I fear its going to end in tears.

Nuttybear · 02/05/2010 16:34

Scatty How old is Ds? We have had a discussion around this. I am not going to interfer. I'm going to have Telly, choc's, apple juice, beer & snack ready for the boys when they get back in. I'm going to mop brows, cuddle them & give fav rewards. This should make the process less painfull all round.
Went to lovely mates house this afternoon and got a lift back from her lovely DH. I bought her flowers as I really think she is a fab mate. her boys are also good friends to my boy too. How lucky is that

had a good morning, managed to get dcs to church despite pouring rain, they enjoyed it! Talked to a friend having an extension, she said in retrospect she should have moved out to a relative's house [alert Nutty] or put all her belongings in storage. This made me feel v.relieved not to have any building work on at the moment, I think it's the first year for ages that the builder hasn't been here. I miss him though - can feel a garden step coming on..

Lunch fine, then pm feelings of bleughness returned, read a good book, then have thoroughly cleaned and tidied kitchen again but can feel vague feelings of helplessness and panic creeping over again. Off to church again at 6.00 as ds altar server (typical disorganisation on my part) Dh took kids to funfair, which was deserted due to rain.

Anyway no need to fret, still another day to reconnect with positivity
also researched dd's First Communion dress with her [nice - but again tense making), and did some homework with kids - an extremely exasperating business

Evening all

DPs birthday today. We had a nice lunch out together and have spent the afternoon sorting out holiday clothes and packing the things that won't get wrinkled.

DS helped me to vac the sofa and living room this morning and we have made lolly stick people.

Overall a successful day

Nuttybear · 02/05/2010 23:23

Wolf It's getting closer and closer Need to do some craft with Ds but always figure out ways to get out of it
If we move out it will have to be to a mates damp empty house (don't ask very long story)
By the time we get going he might have fixed it and sold it No one else we can crash in on as the houses around her are TOO SMALL. Very cross with planner wanting us to preserve a 1850 slum house. The rest of the street are backing us as then they might get their bathroom upstairs!
Just spent time doing paper work! Why is it always so depressing.
Going to phone mate and brother in Canada now
Will be up until 2am chatting to them I suspect! Its 3pm over there now

scattyspice · 03/05/2010 09:47

Morning all .

nutty DS is 6.
We had a small extension built 2 yrs ago (had to change the boiler and move pipes so ended up involving nearly every room in the house though), it was chaos but luckily only took 6 weeks . We used a company that did the whole lot (building, roofing, electrics, windows, plastering etc) so didn't have to manage any of it and it was all timed to perfection (costs more that way though). Good luck.

swan lol at missing the builder. DD became good friends with all our workmen .

wolf when do you go?

Jus posted a long message but lost it when PC crashed - Just been ill all weekend but DH done the early mornings and let me sleep in. I feel rough, sore throat, earache and panic attacks. On the other hand DD really enjoyed spending a couple of days with DH and we have been and had a few meals out etc

Did manage to get the whole of the downstairs tidied though this weekend so should make for a less stressed day tomorrow.

Having a nice chill watching Marley and me then reasonably early night

BB tomorrow

swanriver · 03/05/2010 22:42

[Sigh] May in Italy sounds idyllic Wolf OFM cheers for your sister!and the lovely mediating dog
Ruby we reused the toddler table it works fine

MC sorry you are feeling panicky, your dh sounds lovely and helpful when you need him, it is horrid isn't it - well done for tidying, I find it helps to do anything as long as it is practical and doesn't involve thinking too hard. Today I was in a muddle buying mouldy turf - not a good day particularily, but Have Kept Tidying and weeding so that helped.
Bedroom is much better too
Dh hs laid the mouldy turf (only three strips hopefully it will revive)

This week ahead a very short one, which would be good, except for various commitments which are getting squashed into a corner. Off to Perth on Friday v. early for a confirmation (sounds v. near Gibbberish if you are ever lurking , and then Hexham to stay with friend whose daughter is being confirmed, on Friday eve, from Perth, dcs' school closed on Thurs for election, which would be lovely, except need to do a job which now can't fit into Tues and Wed planting up geraniums for my mother's tenant, which will take four hours.
And trying to plan First Holy Communion party for twins in June, need to send invites next week at least. I need your ds Scatty to make me a themed flowerbed! So far I have bought white snapdragons and dark red lobelia, dark red petunias and stripey red geraniums (dh likes red...)
