MC congrats on the weight loss

I got feed back from the head of the school I interviewed for the other day, he said that my knowledge is great but felt I lacked in confidence. So I didnt get the post.

Not heard back from most of the applications yet. Would like to get on the GTP but I still have the PGCE place so will get to teach one way or another.

Have just been on the housing website, we have been moved up a band, we were band c and are now in band c. So whilst that doesn't make us moved in the next month or so it feels like a breakthrough- we are getting there .

housework wise, nothing much done apart from cook and wash up. been in uni all day and spent all eve working on assignments.
tomorrows am on placement, then drop off bike i sold on ebay, then to nephews to drop off birthday stuff, will drop off easter while I am there if I remember to pick them up. So no housework tomorrow either.

nevermind its not that bad in here anyway, plus side of being out most of the day

lunches are made for tomorrow so I am off to bed.

night all

Morning all

Grotty wet miserable day here too.

Already done

  • Washing x 1
  • Drying x 1
  • DD to GP's

To Do

  • Find marriage certificate to send re change of name on student loan - That in itself could take me all day
  • Sign language revision again - DID some last night but there is tonnes of it and its not sticking. I looked a bit like this by 11pm last night -->
  • Clean out freezer - its full of rubbish that we shouldn't eat or out of date stuff so need to streamline and tomorrow is bin day so best time to do it
  • Whats for lunch - maybe jacket potato and cottage cheese. Not had cottage cheese since a teenager and bought a tub so may risk it
  • Me to school this afternoon
  • Hoover lounge after putting DDs toys away - looks like some kind of toy explosion has occurred
  • Whats for tea - May defrost some chilli
  • Me to sign language class
Leg exercises - haven't done for last two days cos poorly so need to pull my finger out again.

Right best get on - back later. Have a good day all whatever you are doing

Simply · 24/03/2010 12:30

Hello all.

I thought you'd had your nose pierced and had a stone (diamond) stud MC! Well done on the weight loss.

dylsmum I'm glad you had some feedback. It is useful to have as then you can work on that particular part of your presentation ready for the next time.

scatty I've changed the beds, too. I normally do it on a Monday but was too busy. No prob, though, it's done now. Just the delightful re-making with fresh sheets to be done! Groan.

Today I have:-
~ done lots of ironing
~ stripped 3 beds
~ done 2 loads of laundry
~ put stuff on the w/l which isn't drying atm but I'm hoping it will clear up this afternoon
~ unpacked an item I bought on e-bay (teapot) which is missing its lid! I've notified the seller. He must have forgotten to put it in the box.

To do:-
~ sort out ironed clothes and leave in the appropriate bedrooms
~ find new bedlinen for the beds
~ make lasagne for tea. For the first time, I'm ashamed to say! Tut.
~ go to the post office to get b/d cards and gifts posted
~ walk the dog
~ possibly go swimming this evening

Have a good afternoon one and all and I may see you later.

Makingchanges · 24/03/2010 16:21

Updated list

  • Find marriage certificate to send re change of name on student loan - That in itself could take me all day - Can't find it anywhere - Must keep looking
  • Sign language revision again - DID some last night but there is tonnes of it and its not sticking. I looked a bit like this by 11pm last night --> Done but there must now be about 150 words to learn from one topic and I can only remember a fraction so will do more before I leave
  • Clean out freezer - its full of rubbish that we shouldn't eat or out of date stuff so need to streamline and tomorrow is bin day so best time to do it Done My freezer is half empty now but my bin is full. I was ruthless but DH thinks things will last in the freezer forever.
  • Whats for lunch - maybe jacket potato and cottage cheese. Not had cottage cheese since a teenager and bought a tub so may risk it Done
  • Me to school this afternoon - Done - Bad afternoon, had a chocolate muffin to recover
  • Hoover lounge after putting DDs toys away - looks like some kind of toy explosion has occurred - Must go and do
  • Whats for tea - May defrost some chilli
  • Me to sign language class - defrosting yummy
Leg exercises - haven't done for last two days cos poorly so need to pull my finger out again.
Makingchanges · 24/03/2010 16:22

Obviously my sign language isn't defrosting - must preview my posts

TeaMonster · 24/03/2010 16:32

Hello - peeking head in and out.

I am OK, mum is being mum and not making it easy to do the things I need to do for her and me to keep us both same, plus Maxi turned 5.

I have had flu with vertigo

I miss you all

Forgive me.

Still managing to blog once a day though themadhouse-themadhouse.blogspot.com/

Ruby thank you for the card
Groucy thanks for the e-mail, I would love to meet up.

I will try harder

scattyspice · 24/03/2010 16:32

LOL MC. Hope you find that marriage cert.

To do
laundry - reboot
change our bed - done
beavers and rainbows - to do
banking - done

I have got into a complicated arrangement with one of DDs friends Mum's who wants me to take her dd to rainbows too (regularly), I am trying to resist as I also have to take DS to Beavers and pick both up (lots of running between the 2), I also stay and help at Beavers. 1 extra child is likely to tip me into chaos I fear. The other mum doesn't see the problem though (and is being quite persistent ). I am practising my assertiveness .

Wolfcub · 24/03/2010 18:21

tea it is very very good to see you and there is nowt to forgive you daft woman.

Hello to everyone else

done
ds collected from granny's

Nice day here! I have managed to get the top end register of my voice back after three singing lessons! That has made my day for some reason.
Otherwise usual Wednesday chaos, Mexican homework for dcs, (lots of watchng A Banderos singing in "Desperado" on Youtube - does that count as cultural exp) helped at Beavers, left ds2 behind, so much easier

Scatty say you will do it once a month, or else do firm reciprocal. Very easy to get tired and badtempered in these arrangements. I know from bitter experience. Now they are older the dropping off seems much less stressful. But one more child to wrestle into a car seat, find coat of etc, can be last straw.

TM do you know something? - your blog is a great way to communicate. It's like Alistair Cooke or all the great colummists. And sometimes on this thread great thoughts can get lost amongst the dusters...
I read your blog every day.

OFM if you are there somewhere, please update yours, as I would love to know how you are doing.

Wolf enjoy tomorrow

BiancaCastafiore · 24/03/2010 21:06

Hello all Just having a little MN browse for the first time in ages.

Nice to see you're all still keeping busy. Still lots of names I remember from my regular FLY days

I'm working full time these days so don't find time to post here but am still keeping the FLY ideas going - the routines are my saving grace.

Starbear · 24/03/2010 21:28

hello Just popping in while my DIY hair colour does it thing. I've left my hair unwashed for 3 days as my sis said it was better for the hair! Work is easy and I get to go home (at the moment on time) but since Monday I have had terrible pain in the right side of my rib cage and I don't understand what I've done to myself! I've never had pain like it especial when I breath deeply. DH thinks I've damaged the muscles but I don't understand now! I've got tons to do tomorrow and hope the rib pain doesn't stop it.
Scatty Its very hard for women to say no without seeming to be rude. Maybe a polite no might be very refreshing to utter without giving any reason why!
RR I do that all the time. My close friends think its very funny when they watch me do it! I think they are very cruel to not
cut in quickly to save me
Right off to wash this stuff out and take some tablets!

dylsmum1998 · 24/03/2010 21:37

evening all,

busy day minimal flying.

I took the story time in school today, super proud of myself, I only usually work with v. small groups so was a challenge but I enjoyed it. Also have an idea of something to do with the children during fridays interview.

TM good to 'see' you and know you are ok. Hope you are feeling better after the flu and things ease up for you soon.

had a bad night with dd last night, thoughtful neighbours woke her at 10.30pm and I couldnt get her back off. so shattered now gonna have an early night.

Starbear · 25/03/2010 09:40

Morning all have to get into a new mind set now. The pain in my ribs has died down but I must look after myself and go get some exercise. I can't run anymore due to my hips but I need to work around that.
Dyls Could you squeeze in a nap in the afternoon, it works wonders for me. Even 20 mins with my eyes closed works!
Planners will be here in the morning to check over the house cross fingers they say yes!
Right back in a bit

Makingchanges · 25/03/2010 10:53

Morning all

I have been made to play school, mummies and daddies and tram conductors so far this morning so I'm escaping for 10 minutes to my PC before I make lunch.

Star have you been doing any weights or core work at the gym my ribs always hurt after a session, I think its cos I'm unfit so they are protesting

Dyls well done on the story time. I was made to do that on my first day as the teacher had to go and move his car. Baptism of fire on my own in a class I didn't know reading a story i'd never clapped eyes on before . I hope your new idea goes well for your interview on Friday.

Today I woke up with a big headache and its just about got to a dull one. I'm hoping it will have disappeared by 1pm when I have to be in school.

Jobs for the day

  • More washing - especially DH's cricket top from practise last night - phewwieeeee. I don't wash it during cricket season so he'd better not start getting used to it.
  • DD to nursery. Me to school
  • Copy up sign language notes from last night
  • Work on assignment
  • Ring DM about night out tomorrow night. Leaving party from our old work and she is going to pick my up so I can have a drink
  • Ring school to confirm my placement week
  • Sort out paperwork

I bought my academic diary for my PGCE course last night. I'm mad about stationary anyway but I got soooooo excited. How sad am I.

Right must get on. Need to make lunch as it takes DD soooo long to eat it Back later

swanriver · 25/03/2010 11:17

Dylsmum and MC the one thing I am good at is storytime to large groups. It's interesting which books work and which don't..

Starbear · 25/03/2010 11:44

MC I am ashamed to say it came about because it was my first day in girly office clothes and the sun was shining when I left home. I didn't take a coat and spent the rest of the day tense and cold. To the point at the station I think I hugged myself so tightly that I hurt my ribs!!! I think my stabproof vest keep my body too warm!!!
Right I've fanny'd around too long
Changed beds
W/M on 2nd load
dry on
2nd load ready to go
kitchen tidy
Now shopping a little food and a variety of other bit
Shepherds pie for tommorow night & for tonight stuffed peppers with rice & mince.

Simply · 25/03/2010 12:50

Hello to all esp Tea and go.

Well, the lasagne worked out ok in the end. Dd (a teenage wind-up merchant if ever there was one) gave me 1 out of 10 for effort and then decided to award me another 1 point "for not burning all of it". Dh awarded me 9 out of 10 and ds cleared his plate and had left the table before we got to the silly point awarding stage. Tonight will be YMCA (yesterday's muck cooked again) as both dh and ds are out so only dd and I to be fed and the leftover lasagne will stretch to us two.

Ds got through in all the competitions he entered so will be going to the Eisteddfod in May to enter 5 comps to try to get stage and then perform in front of an audience. He was in a concert earlier this week and is performing again somewhere tonight. He has a lift sorted, so that's ok.

Starbear I can understand your excitment but you really need a warm waterproof layer in March, you know!

MC I recently bought two items from Organised Mum as I like stationery items, too! I thought I'd use one and keep the other one as a gift for someone but I'm using both. Still, if it helps me to get organised!

Right. I've finished my cup of tea so I'd best crack on. I have to stay in for a wine delivery. Dh ordered it online at 11pm and they are in the area today so are bringing it this afternoon. Excellent service once again. Back later!

Starbear · 25/03/2010 13:58

Simply Yes, thank you 'Mum' for telling me. I'm really not use to wearing girls clothes all day I think, I'm walking like Dick Emery at the mo. Ha! Ha! I've got flat shoes in my bag if I need them!
You must be such a proud mum at the moment.
Right
Lunch in the oven M&S have brought out Salmon & brocolli flan yummy! it had disappeared for a few years. Diet next week!
W/M rebooted

Evening all Scatty we have a busy w/e too. I'm off to the Country Living Fair. Its not the shopping but a chance to hang out with friends. By buying tickets we all make sure we put everything in place to get there.
So DH is taking DS to gym he is ging to ask if he can return in Autumn, so we can go out as a family on Saturday in the sun.
Sunday we are going to visit my friends in Chigwell I can't figure out the best route to get there without getting trapped in traffic!!! Through the city? On the M25!
Looking forward to see them they haven't seen ds since he was born I find going to Devon less of a hassle than Essex.
So today I have

OP posts:
swanriver · 25/03/2010 22:37

star yep it always takes an hour to get ANYWHERE in London, that's our rule of thumb!
Not tried Chigwell yet, sounds like an invented place name.
Scatty just offer her two dates that you will do it (out of ten dates) so that it appears you are doing her a favour. tiresome lady

Dylsmum I hope someone (ds?)is going to bring you a nice cup of tea this weekend, you deserve it.

Just menuplanned for my exasperatinglovable sister for entire Easter break for what appears to be 16 people all greedy.

Not yet done cake for dd's party this w/e,(or in fact any arranging - booked tickets for cinema though) do I really ahve to make another...she asked for a cake resembling a cinema with children outside. I am touched she thinks I have these skills. I do NOT.
