Morning ladies

I hope everyone had a good weekend, we went to the zoo yesterday with friends, and to be perfectly honest, it was horrendous. My friend's kids are so well behaved, and my DD screamed and ran feral, meaning much bribery with jelly tots, capri suns and hoola hoops. Thank god DH was there as he took her off to wherever she was happiest and let her play. He is much more patient with her atm, as i have had her screaming tantrums every time we have gone out this week. I love her so much, but sometimes i almost hate her at the same time. That makes me sound like such a horrid mother

Get up done

DD is getting so tired in the evenings that she is not eating her dinner, so going to try to get her to eat a proper meal at lunchtime, so that if she just has toast at night it doesn't matter.

wastingaway · 15/02/2010 10:30

Thank you Trinity! I've done it!
I have such a block with bill paying.

Alice, you are so not horrid. Sometimes toddlers are very hard work.
Good idea about the main meal at lunch.
I find I do better the rest of the day if I've had my big meal at lunch time too and keep meaning to forgo the sandwiches. DS doesn't eat them properly anyway, and that's where a lot of our food waste comes from.

Thanks Alibaba! She is 7 months and a little treasure, but a dreadful sleeper at the moment. Still, I am now on page 117 of the No Cry Sleep Solution. I also feel a fair bit better this morning, as DH took DD for almost an hour when he got up this morning, which gave me an uninterrupted 45 minutes of sleep. It was wonderful.

She is now napping and I am slowly and quietly cleaning the kitchen, using my new mantra of "a half-arsed clean is better than NO clean".

Congrats on getting DS down at 8pm! Have fun at your lunch today too!

Good on you wasting away for your British Gas achievement. It's such a nice feeling when you get to accomplish things that you have been meaning to do but haven't been able to get to.

Alicetheinvisible · 15/02/2010 11:44

Butterfly i think that would work. I would be so ashamed i would scrub my house from top to bottom before anyone came and hide everything in the loft

Wasting DD is having leftover shepherds pie for lunch today. I would rather we all have a nice meal together in the evenings, but it is just not working at the moment. DD gets tired and won't eat dinner, goes to bed, probably doesn't sleep so well because she is not full up, has breakfast in the morning (all ok) spends the day asking for stuff, eats toast/sandwiches/baked beans for lunch, spends afternoon wanting snacks (a biscuit/chocolate/cake) doesn't nap (over tired, too much sugar) then is grumpy and too tired for dinner and so it goes on. Probably one of the reasons her behaviour has suddenly changed, all of this has happened at the same time.

Hello everyone, had a lovely time away but too many late nights (& early mornings) mean i'm knackered now!
And although i did some laundry while away i still seems to have a mountain now

DH out for work later so i'll have an early & quiet night, hopefully.

To Do:

  • get off MN!
  • tackle laundry mountain
  • unpack everything
  • rehome everything
  • boys tea (fish fingers i think!)
  • boys to bed
  • DH out
  • quiet night (check Sky+ for recordings, think i should have lots of dancing stuff to watch)

Ongoing List:

  • contact new dentist & see if we can register
  • return borrowed stuff (2 x DVDs & bib)
  • upload & order online prints
  • order door curtain (& rail) for front door
  • thank you cards for DS2's birthday
  • clean kitchen cupboard doors (Started)
  • put pile of cds onto dh's pc, then they can go into loft with others
  • find out about swimming lessons for DS1 (Have tip about nearby place with spaces)
  • Vitamin E capsules ChemistStillRunOut
  • make 1 birthday card
  • fix airer if possible TriedNeedPliersFromShed
  • take odd bits of old bed to tip/freecycle
  • sort out spare room properly as too much junk in there
  • copy Wasting and think about Christmas! (maybe)
HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 15/02/2010 16:40

Hi all.

Plum I am feeling worn out too.

I could have a little whinge but I won't unless anyone else is fancying a moan too. We could have a one of moan and sympathy thread?

At PIL at the mo so only jobs are feed DD and help with meals etc. which means things are a bit easier than normal.

Hope everyone is surviving the holidays.
