Everyone welcome, newcomers and old(ish) flappers alike!

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I will also be posting Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm making the coffee and brewing tea. There might even be toast...

Good luck!

OM Glad you know how to spell mistletoe

I am glad to have thought up a crimbo name for you - good karma!

Hot wash going round with vinegar in softener drawer. Lets hope Pluto Family don't waft around smelling faintly of chips for the rest of the week.

I have a new thing to boast about in my evening routine. I lay out all the breakfast things in the kitchen after I've done my sink shining. This has allowed me ten more minutes in bed made me much more efficient in the mornings.

MrsDingDongMerrily · 01/12/2009 20:58

Evening all, I like the Christmas names.

Well done with your list SSC and welcome to the thread
Welcome to YM too, hope you got DD "going"
I like the idea of "greater efficiency in the morning" PTPD Ellie hope DD is feeling better

Hello also to everyone else.

I managed quite a lot today, considering it is stay at home with DD day. She was quite cooperative and spent ages watching telly amusing herself, so I could catch up a bit - the second half of this week looks a bit manic plus ILs coming at the weekend so want to get ahead. Didn't actually do much decluttering of dining room as all the clutter seems to be DH's crap important paperwork, but did manage to sort out two longstanding hotspots in kitchen and lounge.

Anyway, going to go and finish kitchen before a glass of wine and Delia (just to make me feel totally inadequate). See you tomorrow

pushmepullssantassleigh · 01/12/2009 21:27

Evening all, just giving my new nickname a quick twirl !

Love all the Christmas names, feeling quite Christmassy at the thought.

Pluto might be worth doing a clear rinse cycle to avoid potential chippy embarassment!

SSC you've definitely got off to a 'flying' start - just the kick up the bum us last month flyers need

Managed all my list plus a quick clean of the hob and my evening routine, so feeling a bit more positive now .

Hi to MrsD, ellie, MM (great name - I prefer mincemeat to mince pie), SC, DEM, MC, OM, HARR and everyone I've missed

If I do nothing else this week I must:

Clear shoe and coat racks in front hall and bottom of the stairs (I know this was today's mission, but my racks are too cluttered for a mere 5 minutes to make a dent!)

Clear/tidy hair and makeup area at top of kitchen stairs.

If this hasn't appeared as done on my list by the end of Thursday please throw baubles at me until I go and do it

DontFuckWithTheNames · 01/12/2009 21:43

With pleasure pushme am in a bit of a battle /show of support so appologies if the name offends the more sensible of you.

I have done the christmas fair and doing the uniform but could do the baking as someone ds ate the dried blueberries which are essential to making mince pies that are grape product free. So will have to wait. Ds tucked into bed and i am heading in that direction if i dont get sucked into the balckhole that is mn when there is a good bun fight.

Anyone any ideas how to change my normal name into something chrismasy?

DEM

dreamingofawhitexmasteamgirl · 01/12/2009 22:04

Cant think of anything offhand DEM -maybe DidJesusMum ???

Where is the battle with names?

Gonna try out my name for a day or two and see if it fits- if not back to drawing board

Welcome to the newbies, loving all the new names, but where is SC (as opposed to SCC )

FLying errr. Done yesterdays mission- too scared of my junk mail to do todays!! Just remembered tax has expired tho so doing that NOW
Back in 10 minutes

mummyclaus · 01/12/2009 22:06

Hi everyone - mulled wine nicely warmed, come and help yourselves!

Where is StillCounting? I think everyone else from November has made it.

DEM I'll have a think about your name

List not gone fabulously well as having to do LOADS of washing up as the DW has broken. DH said he would wash up this morning before he went to work. He probably thinks he did, but he did not do all the washing up that was in the DW! Nice man is due in the morning to have a look at it so hopefully it will be working when I get home tomorrow night.

Off to do some ironing then off to bed

DontFuckWithTheNames · 01/12/2009 22:07

DontFuckWithTheNames · 01/12/2009 22:08

mummyclaus · 01/12/2009 22:09

pushmepullssantassleigh · 01/12/2009 22:23

DontFuckWithTheNames · 01/12/2009 22:37

MiniMincemeat · 01/12/2009 22:44

Evening All
Loving all of the Christmas names

Here is my menu for next week a bit too heavy on the pork but seemed to fit the bill for a busy week somehow...

starts on Sunday.

  • Roast pork with apple, cabbage, potatoes
  • pork, broccoli and other greens stir fry and rice (with leftovers)
  • Jacket potatoes (make extra and mash for Friday), hummous and salad
  • sausage, lentil and bean casserole
  • pan fried pollack with mash and veg
  • pasta with tomato and caper sauce

Night all

mummyclaus · 02/12/2009 06:44

Good morning everyone!

DEM pmsl at your acheivements yesterday
MM at parties to go to. V quiet here on celebration front and feeling bit sorry for self as am confined to barracks because of DH's new job (unsocial hours). Still he HAS a new job which is better than some people I know so shouldn't complain really. And thank you for posting your menu. I did some planning on Monday (at work) and shopped on the way home so there is some progress here. Need ideas though so keep the menus coming!
Cat well done at clearing your list - feels great doesn't it?

Babystep is getting dressed to shoes. Newbies, large pinch of salt here. Feel free to follow to the letter if you want to but I don't. Sometimes I manage slippers and sometimes I do some of my list in my pjs.

Fingerprint mission today - bet you get carried away

I'll think about a list when I get to work - adjusting a bit to DH work pattern atm but I MUST do some on-line banking

See you all later - how about egg nog later? Looking forward to the Christmas names!

mummyclaus · 02/12/2009 06:48

BTW this month's focus is pampering - enjoy

PositivelyFestive · 02/12/2009 08:33

Morning all.

Back on track today after my slacking yesterday.

Microwave "blew up" yesterday. It went BANG and stopped working. After leaving it for a few hours it then seems to work again. It makes things hot anyway, but smells terribly! I have doen the old trick of lemon in it and heating it, but do any of you knowledgeable lot know 1) if its safe and 2) how to get rid of the smell, or 3) how I can convince DH that I desperately need a new one TODAY!

MrsDingDong -Thanks for your tips on the last thread. I spoke to the gent himself as he answered the phone, but he was lovely. All sorted out. I have gone for a mexican meal, so it will all be put on the table and he can have what he wants, then a fruit salad with creme fraiche. Diet drinks are in the cupboard ready, many thnks for your help.

Time for a "HOORAY" today as I now have three toilets working in the house! - well, we haven't got a door on the wetroom yet, but as an emergency its ok for family use!

Morning routine all done so far, off to work, then another horrible meeting this afternoon with childrens disability team, which hopefully will not descend into an arguement!
Back to cook meal for guest tonight and out tonight with my DDDDDDDDsis. She's driving, so I may have a little tipple, just to get in the Christmas spirit of course and I promise to not go mad again!

HAve a good day everyone.

StainlessSteelCat · 02/12/2009 08:35

dreamingofawhitexmasteamgirl · 02/12/2009 08:42

DEM I absolutely LOVE mummyclaus's (?DWM?) idea of DidSantasMum as it is festive but everyone will still know who you are :-)

DWM Is there a Christmas mission for today?

For me. Have done morning routine, and am just about to clean teeth and walk out door to my big launch event for our new software we are trialling for electronic transfer of GP records. We haev been asked by the national NHS IT team to trial it. Very VERY exciting and a huge honor to be involved. Oh and masses of work

Have a great one everyone xx

optimistletoemumma · 02/12/2009 08:44

optimistletoemumma · 02/12/2009 08:46

Well done DOAWXTG!! Semm to be x posting with everyone this morning.

elliepac · 02/12/2009 08:46

MOrning all,

DD still poorly but loads of teachers off so mum is taking her from 11.

She's very quiet so am hoping to get the following done this morning:-

Washing machine on
DW on
general tidy
S/S bathroom

Tonight:-
Evenign routine
DS swimming
Order xmas pressies

Will be back in a min with namechange...I think.

walkthedinosaur · 02/12/2009 08:50

Your on page 2 already, look what happens I get sidetracked with work and you lot are busy nattering amongst yourselves.

Didn't do much yesterday just the routines and a quick dust and polish in the living room, was doing my paid work till 11.00 last night, didn't get to sleep till 1.00 and then DS2 came into my bed at 3.00 and has talked to me ever since I am not a happy bunny at all.

Today off today though so today I will:

Get dressed (after another cup of tea)
Check my work before sending it
Do dining room and kitchen
Make Muffins for DC's picnic tea tomorrow
Taxi DC's to swimming lessons
DS1 French lesson
DS1 homework and piano
Make a chicken pie
Ironing tonight

If any teachers out there can give me some advice, it's my first day tomorrow in my new job, I've been given a schedule but really little info, I know my first 2 hours are 18 year olds and it's only 25 min sessions so I've planned an introduction lesson for them but I know nothing about the next five hours and the age groups/abilities of the kids and the lessons will be an hour long. Does anybody have any ideas for activities to fill out a lesson which is going to mainly focus on introductions. The kids are all secondary age. Don't even know how many there are in a class.

Am loving all your christmas names, will some clever person think up one for me? Brain too fuzzy to do it for myself.

walkthedinosaur · 02/12/2009 08:50

Your, no it's you're - how the hell am I supposed to teach English with basic mistakes like that.

MellieChristmas · 02/12/2009 08:55

What do we think? Not sure .

WTD will ponder on your problem. Do you want some introductory games etc?

How about walkthereindeer or walkinginawinterwonderland?

optimistletoemumma · 02/12/2009 09:01

Liking mellie christmas. I was also going to suggest some ice breaker type games WTD I'm sure ellie has some secondary type websites up her sleeve that would help! (I use Primary resources - but no good for secondary level - great for stuff for your own DC though - interactive maths games to learn tabes etc etc ).
