Everyone welcome, newcomers and old(ish) flappers alike!

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I will also be posting Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm making the coffee and brewing tea. There might even be toast...

Good luck!

MulleredOnWine · 03/12/2009 14:44

okay, hi everyone and thanks for the instructions MC.
Have been out for a walk and am about to go and shine my sink. (not wearing shoes tho )
Will try and do 15 minutes in the zone. God knows it needs it.

StainlessSteelCat · 03/12/2009 15:13

I succumbed to the easy way out today - after getting nowhere this morning, I went to soft play centre for lunch. Thankfully it was quiet, and feel so much better that they have to wash dirty dishes and pans that I might get soemthing useful done this afternoon! Or I might just try and keep on top of the basics.

Revised list:
sink (still shiny from last night)
babystep: read FlyLady site (well, some of it!)
wash up
washing x1 load - done
put away clothes
wrap dad's bday present + write card
cook supper

Wishing everyone a productive afternoon, and hope none of you get this lurgy. I feel totally wiped out but am determined not to fall off the wagon this soon.

MulleredOnWine · 03/12/2009 15:41

and sorry to hear about your DD mellie. Has her temp come down any?

Stillcountingthebaubles · 03/12/2009 15:50

SCthebaubles climbs out from under heap of tinsel and says ....

"hello"!!!

Sorry to have been absent and thank you for asking after me .... have been rather poorly since Monday ... up out of bed for first time today ...

So much to catch up on with this thread ...loads of newcomers (warm welcome!!)...and lots of namechangers ... Mummyclaus??? Is that you Droitwich?? ... brilliant !! ...and you've all been Flytastically busy!! Well done!!

Still feeling a bit wobbly so back to my bed of straw and see you tomorrow hopefully ...

I've missed you lot [sniff]

MulleredOnWine · 03/12/2009 15:59

woo you should see my sink, and hob and bin top now!
slight concern tho - dp does most of the cooking so how do I avoid becoming a naggy old cow if he dares to mess any of those up?!

pushmepullssantassleigh · 03/12/2009 16:41

Welcome back SC, we've been missing you. Sorry you're poorly though, there seems to be a lot of it about!

Mullered i've found that it's not as much about not making a mess as it is about clearing it up afterwards , which gets progressively easier a\s you go on (no really it does!)

QueenofDreams · 03/12/2009 16:54

Mullered - DP now gets funny about pouring anything down my shiny sink Seriously.
The first day, he came home, saw the sink (amidst all the mess) and said 'WOW! that's different!'

Today I have:
DOne all the washing up
done one load of laundry
Packed away the pile of clothes on the piano
retidied living room
scrubbed kitchen floor
cleared rubbish from bathroom
wiped kichen counters and cooker

Still to do
Clear dining table
Shine sink

Phew. Not bad considering how clingy ds is today. Hope these blasted teeth come through soon.

Plutothatpresentdown · 03/12/2009 17:30

Oh dear, no real flying done here today to speak of. I just seem to be so busy ferrying DS to school, clubs etc etc. Where do the days go at this time of year?

Haven't organised anything for tea - forgot to defrost chilli for tonight. DH will come home about 7 and there will be an overtired baby who needs a bath and no dinner sorted and a son who needs collecting from cubs. Wish me luck - I think it's going to be a long evening.

Waving to you all - and welcome to all new flyers. I am totally confused now we all have our Xmas names - I think I'm going to have to write out a list!

optimistletoemumma · 03/12/2009 18:27

SC - so glad you're back! We missed you! Hope you feel better soon...SSC too!
My girls weekend has gone down the pan too because of this lurgy so I'm .
Mellie - poor little DD and you! Hope you've managed to collect the pee . How wonderful and full our lives are!!
Pluto - good luck! Can't you get someone else to do the cub run? Get DH to order a pizza or something...

Right I think this thread needs a good glug of alcohol so I'm leaving out a chilled white, lovely red and an assortment of dips and nibbles. Help yourself!

MellieChristmas · 03/12/2009 18:34

Unfortunately optimistletoe my life is not full of pee . Left her to walk across the room and she peed on the sofa...I swore quite a lot at that point .

On a serious note, am actually really worried about her, temp still not gone down and will do nothing but sit on me, listless, shivering etc. Am about to ring hospital back up

Waving to everyone and a big welcome to all new fledgling flyers. I am not usually this miserable .

I need vodka...not wine.

optimistletoemumma · 03/12/2009 18:41

Mellie - if you're still worried I would ring the hospital back up. Trust your own instincts.
The vodka's on the table...Let us know how you get on...

PositivelyFestive · 03/12/2009 19:24

Oh dear, not a happy thread here tonight, is it!!!

Mellie - Poor DD. Hope she improves soon. As OM says, if you think she needs to get her back to the hospital, call them. Thinking of you both.

SC - Welcome back! Sorry you are poorly, though. Take it easy and don't rush yourself back too soon. Thinking of you too!

OM - Sorry about your girly weekend. Hopefully you can replan. I think your wine bottles are going to be emptied very quickly tonight, so I will put my order in now, Big glug of rose, please, and a few nibbles would go down lovely!

MM - Hope you have a good time with you friends who you had to postpone.

PMPSS - (have I got the initials right?) I also went to the dentist today. Hope yours went well. Always a relief when its done. Last appointment for me is next Thursday, after not going for too many years, cos I was too petrified!

Not a lot of flying here today. I spent the afternoon having a lovely cook with DS, who wants to be a chef when he leaves school, so we have fantastic "kitchen afternoons". We made, biscuits, stuffed peppers, homemade pizzas, chocolate torte, cake, waffles and naan bread! Phew!! Fridge is about as full up as I feel!! So my flying consisted of dishwasher x1million, cleaning kitchen x1 million. Off out tonight, so have a good evening everyone, hope you all get a good nights sleep and feel better tomorrow.

Tomorrow I plan to get into town between jobs and do my first bit of CHristmas shopping. So far I have planned this three days and it has rained every time, so I haven't made it. At this rate I'll be shopping on Christmas eve!!

Evening everyone, sorry too many names for personal waves, so a gigantic one for everyone. Help yourself to homemade biscuits.....yum!!!!!

pushmepullssantassleigh · 03/12/2009 19:31

mellie was going to offer brandy as no vodka, but see OM has beaten me to it!

Hope your poor DD is feeling better soon. Def worth a call to the hospital if you can't get her temp down

MiniMincemeat · 03/12/2009 19:36

Evening All

Mellie sorry to hear your DD isn't very well, pool love. Hope she is on the mend soon - and agree about trusting your instincts. W

e have the opposite of the no-wee situation today as DS just peed on a cushion when he got out of the bath!

SC poor you too. Glad to have you back but rest up and no flying please!

PF not wishing away my DS's formative years but I can't wait to have kitchen afternoons with mine, sounds lovely (and yummy , thanks). Mine (15 months) did 'make' biscuits with the childminder today but seems to have eaten all but one of them!

Right, I've been working today and we're going away tomorrow so I now need to:

  • clear away dinner things, clean and tidy kitchen, shine sink
  • pack for DS and me (DH to sort his own things)
  • get clothes out for tomorrow
  • ironing (of course)
  • put away dry clothes (have done about 3 loads of washing so they are all hanging out to dry (indoors)
  • phone DH - he is at the supermarket and I've forgotten something on the list!
  • oh, save cushion from the wee!

Will report back on my progress. Neighbours coming in at 9 to watch tv so I'm on a time limit!

pushmepullssantassleigh · 03/12/2009 19:38

PF Dentist was rubbish. Patronising and cost me £300 . I'm in the same position as you having been too petrified to go for a while. Plus the root filling he put in 2 years ago was loose so he pulled out and told me it would cost another £90 to replace it!

We are financially challenged as it is here as we have cross company 'voluntary' pay reductions due to the recession. Plus it is my sister's 30th next weekend and DH's 40th on Christmas day. Not to mention the £800 car bill last week...

Sorry

Wow, this thread is getting busy. Welcome to all the new people.

SC - glad you're back take it easy, also welcome back to Chica who reappeared yesterday.

Mellie - fingers crossed for DD

PF - seriously impressive cooking day, my kitchen overflows with washing up if I try and do two things in one go, let alone all that.

Mullered I know what you mean about DH, at the weekend mine kindly put on a load of washing while I was out with DCs, but it was not the load I was planning for that day and it threw me totally off my week plan. I had to bite my tongue, don't want him to think I have disappeared up my own backside with all this Flying

I survived the bake-athon with Year 1 today, hats off to all you teachers, I am knackered. Working at a very low table all day has done my back in a bit too. Quite proud to have organised and single-handedly supervised 26 of them without incident (apart from a tooth falling out, thank goodness it didn't end up in a biscuit). Have sent DH out for fish and chips.

walkthedinosaur · 03/12/2009 19:59

This is a fast thread this week, with name changes and new flyers I'm completely lost so hello to all.

First day went OK, throat is killing me now, I have no idea how you teachers do all that talking I've spoken more today than I have all year I think. I think the students liked me, there have been Facebook friend requests pinging in all night, my surname is not that common in the UK, so I bet I stick right out here in France.

Was out of the door for 7.30 this morning but managed to get DW loaded, and S/S before I left, lovely coming home to a clean kitchen.

Not done much tonight cleaned kitchen after dinner, reading with DC's, watched True Blood I taped last night.

Off for bath and early bed now, do you know how many years it's been since I was at school? I'm shattered.

Hope your DD feels better soon Mellie but take her to the hospital if you feel at all worried.

See you all tomorrow!

havingarudolphreindeer · 03/12/2009 20:15

Just had a quick skim so apologies if I miss anyone.

mellie That all sounds a bit scary, hope DD is on the mend. Poor you.

Pluto You've had a bit of day too! V/flytastic to write a list of our names - will you keep it in your control journal.

SC Good to see you back - was worried you'd jumped ship.

Well, I have stopped walking around my house whinging that there is too much to do with xmas and decorating and all normal stuff too and decided to just be happy that I get anything done.

Managed to get some decorating done today when DS napped and DP was supposed to get home from work at a decent hour to do some before returning for the school disco - he didn't so I'm making him do his shift now! Well if I can do 2 hours with a 8mo old then honestly!

Also MM I have done some ironing!!

swanriver · 03/12/2009 20:24

I'm back again ladies to do two room rescues, playroom and front room see you in 20 mins

mummyclaus · 03/12/2009 20:27
