Everyone welcome, newcomers and old(ish) flappers alike!

Here you can do any of the following:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As Christmas is approaching I will also be posting Christmas missions.

I'll post links early in the morning on the relevant day while I'm making the coffee and brewing tea. There might even be toast...

Good luck!

Please miss, can I be excused for todays flying lesson. I am suffering from burnout after a weekend of blitzing and after a long day at work yesterday, I did a mega blitz to conclude cleaning all downstairs rooms, hallway/stairs & landing.

I know it is the 1st of the month, but long day at work again today and I need to put my feet up and relax tonight. Back on track tomorrow to finish the blitzing. House is looking good, though.

yawningmonster · 01/12/2009 08:39

mummyclaus · 01/12/2009 08:42

PAO you are excused but pop in for mulled wine later

To add to list - ironing and 2 loads of washing - I seem to have slipped back with my one load/15 mins ironing per day somehow.

mummyclaus · 01/12/2009 08:44

x post with yawning

Good manageable looking list - hope you get everything done that you need to. Let us know how you get on

MrsDingDongMerrily · 01/12/2009 09:09

Morning everyone, I can smell the coffee from here

A beautiful day here today, all clear and sunshiney, much better.

Advent calendar will have to do for today's festive mission, everything else decoration-wise can wait till the weekend.

Todays list:

DW
Washing
Fill bird feeders
Declutter dump dining room
Hoovering - this sunshine is highlighting every crumb

See you later

StainlessSteelCat · 01/12/2009 10:24

baby flying steps here I come ... all oiled up and ready for action

So, I'm going to shine my sink (well, sort of - it's horrible old white plastic, so shining it is not possible), and then I'm going to do today's mission - because the pile of paper/letters/crap by the front door is threatening to take over.

Will now shamelessly steal from MrsDingDong and do the xmas mission as well by putting up an advent calendar

Also:
washing x2 loads
change kids beds
tidy lounge
hoover downstairs
wash up and wipe over kitchen

see you later

Plutothatpresentdown · 01/12/2009 12:09

My washing machine emits a vile and horrible smell of drains at certain points in the cycle .
DS asked me if I had farted when he came into the kitchen this morning - it's time to do something about the stink. If I run an empty wash with a bit of bleach in the dispenser will this work and will it ruin my next proper wash?

Help me please!

StainlessSteelCat · 01/12/2009 12:25

I have no idea about the bleach I'm afraid, I'd try that only as a last resort though, jsut in case it can do damage. You could try this, but being a lazy mare myself, I'd just do the second part and see if that did the trick.

Plutothatpresentdown · 01/12/2009 12:44

Thanks SSC I'm off to buy some cheapo toothpaste now.

havingarudolphreindeer · 01/12/2009 13:09

Morning all

Lovely day here too - Pluto LOVE your Christmas name - very clever.

Had a nightmare morning, involving DP taking the pram chasis to work and me having nothing to get DS off to sleep in - much needed as we both have colds - still.

All sorted now so best so something useful.

My list of achievements so far

S & S - that's it!!

elliepac · 01/12/2009 15:51

Am loving all the Christmas names people, just have to come up with something myself now.

Had to come home from work at lunchtime because DD poorly at CM's. Been to doctors just a virus but she is very unhappy right now.

HARR i fully sympathise as had to rush down the stairs at 5.45am this morning to shout DH who was just setting off to work with DD's car seat in his car.

Pluto good luck with the washing machine.

SSC and YM good luck on your first day, sounds like you both have good achievable lists.

OM very upset i missed breakfast sounded yummy.

Waves to SC, WTD tibni PA PMPY DWM MrsDDM DEM and everyone else she has missed.

So, as DD poorly rest of day looks like this:-

Washing x 1
DW on
General tidy

That's about it as she currently won't leave my side.

Enjoy the rest of the day.

pushmepullyou · 01/12/2009 16:37

Good afternoon and happy December everybody

Welcome SSC and YM. Nice to 'meet' you . Thanks for the bacon OM and love the Christmas names Pluto, HARR and MC.
Might have missed this, but MrsDingdong - who are you? or are you new as well?

Pluto I would try a wash with a bit of vinegar in the fabric softener drawer. This is what I used for getting ammonia smells out of real nappies and it worked a treat without any risk of fabric damage. I bet it would work on the washing macine itself as well.

No flying done today yet

But... I have a 1 year old!

How did that happen

Going to have a light day today flying-wise as am feeling a bit sorry for myself. Not sure why, I think just seeing my tiny baby grow into a little girl already. Ridiculous really as I found tiny babyhood very difficult and was properly miserable for at least the first 6 3 months. Still feeling very tearful though

Do need to do some things today though if I am not to slip backwards! So here's my (teeny) list

Dishwasher unstack and restack
kitchen floor
washing
clear kitchen table
room rescue living room

pushmepullyou · 01/12/2009 16:39

Welcome YM as well! and general wave to the rest of the thread!

pushmepullyou · 01/12/2009 16:41

Oops cross posts ellie - hope DD is feeling better soon. I need a Christmas name too.

How about wishyouaelliexmas?

DidEinsteinsMum · 01/12/2009 16:45

Welcome one and all. today i have sucessfully;

tramatised y7
Annoyed y8
watched nativity dress rehersal (ds')
ordered parents pressies
picked up new fuses
got ds' hair cut
nearly commited murder (ds is driving me mad )
Sink is shiney but have school uniform to wash for the morning, and baking to do plus a christmas fair to go to. hiding from ds who is driving me mad because there is change today so today is wrong i hate it when ds' day is wrong it is hard work.

at least there will be nice [biscuits] to eat later.

PositivelyFestive · 01/12/2009 16:57

Just trying out my new name.

Hope your DD gets better soon Ellie.

Off to cook tea, then relax after working loads today!

Have a good evening all.

MrsDingDongMerrily · 01/12/2009 17:07

MrsDingdong = MrsDinky

pushmepullyou · 01/12/2009 17:34

Ahhh, now see I really should have worked that out

optimisticmumma · 01/12/2009 17:56

I need a new name too - have you got one for me too PMPY - am all out of ideas and jollity after my day of Christmasfest at school.

Be back later...with a very large glass of something...

Plutothatpresentdown · 01/12/2009 18:53

A genius creative person on another thread thought up my name - brain too addled with baby to think up one for myself.

Best I can think of OM is Optimisiltoemumma

Forgot the toothpaste for the w/m so I'll have go with the vinegar - thanks PMPY Sorry you have been a bit fed up - I go through spells like this with DS2 who is 9 months now. DH called him a toddler yesterday but I'm in no rush to see him grow as I really can't see us having any more.

PMPY PMPYmysleigh?

PushMePullingSantasSleigh?

MiniMincemeat · 01/12/2009 19:02

Hi All

Trying out my new name...wanted MiniMincepie but someone had already nabbed it but I guess this one goes better with my usual name.

Pluto napisan on a hot cycle works a treat for smelly w/m. We had this situation and eventually caved in and bought a new one which changed my life - the new one is much quicker, efficient and effective than the old one...but this is an expensive time of year without forking out for new washing machines!

Welcome to the newbies

Not going to be around much for the next couple of weeks - juggling a heavy workload with Christmas parties and still way behind with my Christmas shopping.

I did promise to post my meal plans so I will try to do that later tonight (as I do mine on a Tuesday anyway).

MiniMincemeat · 01/12/2009 19:04

Great new month message and threadtitle MC, thanks for leading us again

optimisticmumma · 01/12/2009 19:42

Pluto - you're a genius!

optimistletoemumma · 01/12/2009 19:49

Just trying out my name change then, you never know, I may get on with my to do list which has yet to be done!

StainlessSteelCat · 01/12/2009 19:56

Wow, cleared my list - well, near enough! Hall window is now visible again instead of being hidden behind pile of post, school notes, cycle helmets and shoes. Kitchen looks vaguely hygenic, and the counters are not covered in jars.

I'd would like to thank my DD (9 months) who made this all possible by actually sleeping during the day today . Tomorrow is likely to be a bit less sucessful as I have her as well as DS who is only at nursery for 2.5 hours. But my sink is clean and I feel the warm glow of a friendly welcome to this thread so anything is possible!
