Everyone welcome!

Here you can, for one month:

  • repeat or start baby steps
  • repeat baby steps + do 15 mins a day decluttering in the current zone
  • reinforce babysteps and do daily missions if you have finished decluttering

As we are coverning more ground, to avoid confusion, I'll be posting links early in the morning on the relevant day.

Good luck!

[Looks sternly at Snitch]

That's quite a list for someone who is supposed to be taking it easy. Sit down and put your fit up - I am giving you a special dispensation - you don't want any more wobbly moments!! Seriously, go very, very, gently won't you??

tibni - hope your meeting goes well this morning

I'm feeling good this morning. Friday was nausea and headaches and flashing lights!! But the doctor says I am fine - just pregnant. Am so glad this will be the last time!!!

Am sticking to babysteps with the occasional bit of nesting. All this decorating in preparation has left the upstairs of my house looking like a bombs hit it! I have to do something!!

I promise to sit down regularly though. DS has rediscovered his love of reading books so that gives me a lovely excuse

paranoiabigdestroyer · 05/10/2009 09:29

Hello everyone,

I did a meal planner last night - so hopefully the Sainsburys run I'm off to do in a minute will be much more focused and perhaps a little cheaper - as long as I don't get sidetracked in the cleaning products aisle!

Still on babysteps - so far so good.

Snitch be sensible!

havingagiraffe · 05/10/2009 09:46

My sympathies to all you pg ladies. As much as it's an exciting time I have to admit I didn't enjoy the experience. Plus your stories stop me getting broody, although why I am is crazy as DS is only 6 months and we are still not getting enough sleep!!

He still has a cold and so last night was another sleep-lite experience. Arrrgggghhh!!!

So, I am going to try and 'fly' as much as possible but in the flylady tradition am going to be kind to myself. My main aim is to keep on top of it during the day and try and do bedtime routine a bit earlier so I can curl up in bed (DTG also have clean sheets - must be a Sunday night thing) with a book and get some zzzzz's early.

CTGH You are so sweet, you say you haven't got time to catch up with everyone and then do - bless you.

Star and Jumbs Make sure you don't miss the 15 min magazine reading babystep - it's the best one!

Elliepac I want that spare house - it sounds just what I need and only having to clear up my own mess would be bliss.

Tibni Fingers crossed for the interview, you sound as if you have quite a day today. take it easy.

PA Surely flying with one baby is easier than flying with 6 DC's - you amaze me!

Plan for this morning

Make bed - done
Dressed - done
express milk - half done
Clean bathrooms
Washing on
Go swimming with DS
Check out flight plan for this week

Wish me luck [smile}

annmar · 05/10/2009 10:22

Good morning everyone.

Plan for the day

Wash dishes after meals & shine sink
Sort out glass cupboard in kitchen
Sort out 4 small dump it drawers in kitchen (there are 2 more big ones, but I'll do those later in the week)
Steam clean kitchen and living room floors
Fix tumble dryer vent
Put shopping away
Go for some retail therapy
Put washing from yesterday away

That should keep me busy.

hellsbelles · 05/10/2009 10:39

how odd - I posted then it didn't show up! Anyway - just said that it's great to see how everyone is getting on and the horrid weather is inspiring me to make it nicer in the house - as that's where we will be stuck for the day!

Also to CTGH - I hope it's not too licky to say - but thanks for being such a lovely thread leader - you make us all so welcome.

frazzled74 · 05/10/2009 11:11

hi everyone,
so far I have,
taken dc's to school and nursery,
supermarket shop (small one)
online shop for next week
1 load of washing
1/2 load tumble drying
washed up from breakfast
tidied bedrooms
hoovered downstairs.

To do -
pick up ds from nursery.
de clutter under sink cupboard
make a curry for tonight dinner
make pasta dish for tomorrow dinner
iron my work uniforms for next 2 days.

I really need to clean my oven, it is disgusting, but my leave it til friday.

tibni · 05/10/2009 11:59

Hi all,

ds family support worker just left so too late to go to education meeting! No news on the interview - beginning to think I'm not going to get called

Puppy gets next vacination at 2.30 so I have a couple of hours to get some cleaning done. Sitting room is quite straight, only need to take meeting paperwork from this morning to study.

Think I will do a bit more decluttering in the conservatory which is the dc's playroom.

stepaway · 05/10/2009 13:15

hi all

A good friend came to visit this week-end and she helped me declutter the living room so that was great. It was useful to have someone to make sure i didn't get distracted and kept on the job! She is a neat-freak so loved helping someone else tidy up their place.

In other amazing news, DH deep-cleaned the Aga!! He's not usually into housework at all... It is sooooo shiny and new looking (despite being well over 30 years old). Better than when the professional Aga cleaner did it!

Still managing to keep the sink shiny and keep on top of the laundry.

You all sound like you're doing well.

Countingthegreyhairs · 05/10/2009 13:35

Yikes Hellesbelles the same thing just happened to me

Oh well, will start again ...

Thank you HavingaG and Hellesbelles - it's very kind of you but having to post on here helps me keep up with my routines and often, when I do post, I am procrastinating waiting to speak to someone at work

Yes I am in awe of PA too - how does she do so much and remain so cheerful at the same time??? She's brill!!

BTW HavingaG I like the bit about you being kind to yourself (if you'll forgive the barftastic Americanism)as that is really the most important thing about the Flylady system. My bedtime routine is fast becoming my afternoon routine too (if that makes sense).

[Temporarily distracted by vision of ParanoiaBigDestroyer running down the aisles of Sainsburys, waving an outsize foam sword, seeking out microfibre clothes] Well done with the meal planning!

Well done anmar and frazzled sounds as if you are totally on track!

oh no, fingers and toes crossed for you tibni Stepaway - send your dh and friend over here immediately please!!! Well done, sounds as if you are on a roll

Fingers crossed when I post this it won't disappear in to the ether again ...

OP posts:
Countingthegreyhairs · 05/10/2009 13:37

PS - won't always be poss - but always a pleasure to speak to you guys individually and, being nosey, I love hearing what everyone has been up to of a morning ...!!

Everyone is doing brilliantly!!

Carry on!!

hellsbelles · 05/10/2009 14:11

stepaway - your friend sounds wonderful - can you send her round here please

paranoiabigdestroyer · 05/10/2009 14:16

Well, CTGH - you weren't far wrong - I am now the proud owner of a microfibre cloth, an ultraperformance one no less.

Frazzled and Anmar - your lists have put me to shame as I have done very little today apart from food shop, although I have made a casserole for supper later.

Now I have 15 mins to declutter a kitchen drawer.

ssshhhh - the baby has been asleep for OVER AN HOUR!!

annmar · 05/10/2009 14:26

Well, I've done the retail therapy, sorted the drawers and the cupboard. The vent is back on the dryer and I've put most of the shopping away.

I have made the mistake of sitting down and have lost all motivation now.

Plan is to have a cup of tea, pick DD1 up from school, then put the washing away while the DDs play/watch telly.

The rest will have to wait 'til they're in bed.

positiveattitudeonly · 05/10/2009 15:20

I would encourage anyone who is even considering thinking that I am something wonderful because I have 5 DCs to actually come and spend 10 minutes in my house and your ideas would soon change!
A little touch of insanity, or a large sense of humour goes a long way to help when you have a house full permanently and I certainly have that! (house full, insanity and a good sense of humour!)

Still at work at the moment. Waiting to go home, but really need to discuss something with a colleague before I leave and he is stuck in a meeting. I will give him 5 more minutes, then run and phone him later!

I know Kelly's missions say that the kitchen is this weeks place to do but,....Please do not throw things at me, but my kitchen is all clear. I have no clutter since the blitzing in August. All my cupboards are cleaned and I just have to do all the usual regular stuff like cleaning floor alongside all the daily routines. So I am not slacking in not writing up what I am doing. I am ticking over nicely and sticking to my journal. How satisfying it is to tick, tick, tick! I think I should have been a teacher!

tibni - Good luck.
Annmar - Retail therapy... OOOOOhhhh!
CTGH - Hope your day got better!

Oh he's just coem out meeting, so i will go and nab him before he gets busy with someone else.
Sorry not to mention others of you, Hi to everyone!

havingagiraffe · 05/10/2009 15:26

Well have done my list for this morning AND the washing is on the line although it's so grey and dank I'm sure it has no chance of getting dry.

Just been having a cup of tea while looking at the detailed cleaning for the kitchen. Am so glad we're in the kitchen this week as we replaced ours a year ago so not too much decluttering to do. Hurrah!

Feel all inspired now so may go and do 15 mins now while DS is still asleep. Must not go mad though.

Just looked at de-cluttering rules too and love the working clockwise from the door.

Question : Do I dare get Dreamteam's control journal? I'm scared it will be too much too soon. I have started a control journal but you've all been so complimentary that I'm very tempted! (DTG Your control jounal is like this seasons 'it' bag! You just have to have it daaarling - not that I know what this season's 'it' bag is!)

dreamteamgirl · 05/10/2009 15:28

Hi all

Is my Kelly's mission a different one from everyone else's? Kelly's mission as mine says Living room still?

I am at work, so not doing it yet, but very confused

CTGH you are doing amazingly well with this thread- just hope you are remembering to be kind to your self and not overdoing it?

POA I think you are amazing whatever you say

paranoiabigdestroyer whats an ultra performance (?) micro fibre? Are they better than the value ones? I have about 20 white ones and 3 blue. Blue are for the flat screen tvs and never have any chemicals on them

Everyone, have fun. I am so so jealous of the pg ladies that I could burst, but pleased for you all as well of course

dreamteamgirl · 05/10/2009 15:33

Cross post with HavingaG

Darling this seasons it bag is the one I bought on Saturday
Real Leather, turquoise blue, big enough to hold a netbook book, but not oversized. I fell in love with it, and couldnt believe it was reduced from £150 to £50... Ok so probably last seasons 'it' bag ... But stunning nonetheless

Oh and the Control Journal, yours whenever you want it- even if all you do is read & delete!! Or you can be like me and have it in 3 months

havingagiraffe · 05/10/2009 15:44

ooooh that sounds gorgeous. I mourn the loss of even using a handbag since I now use a changing bag most of the time! I knew I should've got one of those extremely girlie leather ones - bloody DP!

Yes I was rather confused about the mission too but as I'm avoiding my lounge (worse room in house) I decided to ignore the mission - how naughty am I!

paranoiabigdestroyer · 05/10/2009 16:00

dreamteamgirl my ultraperformance microfibre was a lilac Vileda one that was yelling "pick me! pick me!" in Sainsbury's today. One of the sides has textured stripes which, they claim, pick up even more dirt, grime and limescale than mere ordinary cloths.

I shall do a Good Housekeeping Institute style test on it and let you all know.

According to those factoids on the dreadful Steve Wright today 15 mins of cleaning a day produces the same happy hormones as falling in love. The big fat fairy is a great help but I think that's a step too far.

dreamteamgirl · 05/10/2009 16:02

LMAO at havingaG Your handbag days will return soon, once they are totally potty trained, and then you just shove their crayons, biscuits, toy cars etc etc in your lovely handbag!

I am so pleased with it, it may even replace my Radley for day to day use ...

dreamteamgirl · 05/10/2009 16:04

Oooh lilac cleaning cloths... I would have been tempted too PBD

I dont know about falling in love (Been too long to recall!!) but the 15 mins do seem to keep the depressision away LOL

pushmepullyou · 05/10/2009 16:10

Hi all

Please can I join? I followed the September one, but had got too far behind to catch up. I've been away for the beginning of October but am going for 'new week, new start'.

Can't shine my sink yet though as waiting for DH to finish grouting it!
