Oh dear - I feel you are all going to tell me off....

Yesterday went to work and at lunch time walked to the car to go into town and thought my bump is aching a bit, so I rang the midwife in the delivery suite and she said to take paracetamol and if it didn't go away to ring them back. She also said to go home but I didn't cos I knew I would just be sitting down at work and there was an interview etc. etc. .

Anyway, took pain killers and felt fine. Continued at work then went home and bump aching again on left side.

Got home and was feeling a bit crap so rang delivery suite again and they asked me to go in. Arrived about 9pm. Had 30 mins of baby monitoring. They checked everything and said it was fine etc. Not dilated but was having braxton hicks every 5 mins. Baby fine, CS scar fine. Sent home and told to rest today. Which I am doing .

DH in a foul mood at hospital. Moaning that if I had come home at lunch time none of this would have happened etc. He was really tired after long day of work and there was definitely no sympathy from him. I was a bit narked to be honest and thought bloody hell this is your baby / wife here.

He is the type who definitely needs his sleep to function but I was thinking how the hell is he going to get through the labour if he is in this kind of state now and we've only been in the hospital between 9-11pm!

He announced this morning that he needs to rest more so he will be able to deal with the arrival of the baby [slightly selfish emoticon - what about me for Gods sake!]....and another thing, I pulled the muscle as a result of taking DS to his cousins (on DH's side) bday party that I said I didn't want to go to! [ranting emoticon]

List today - looks good to me
watch telly
do a bit of internet shopping
mumsnet
cancel dentist
maybe ring midwife to tell her what happened
drink lots of tea

mumof2rugrats · 22/09/2009 11:15

i like the tea drinking
rainbow i need a big kick up the bum as i have put on alot of weight i looked a pic taken on sat nite and i look like a tranny so the diet starts here
any tips please

cikecaka · 22/09/2009 11:23

How are you now HMHB? Reminds me of DH, the day before going into have DD3 (planned section). I was running around tidying, ironing clothes so that I could leave clothes ready for the other 3 DCs while I was in hospital. DH was lying asleep on the couch. When I went to have my bath later that evening, DH took it upon himself to tell the other 3 that I was having the baby the next day, so while he watched Lost in peace, I had a question and answer session with the 3 of them while having my bath

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 22/09/2009 11:23

I can't kick due to pulled muscle but I can offer a prod in the right direction to all who need it this morning...

HalfMumHalfBiscuit · 22/09/2009 11:31

cikecaka - I'm not too bad. Its just aching a bit now - only feel it if I move about.

I might take some more paracetamol.

Am going to set up the lounge in a mo so I don't have to move from the sofa and catch up on cheesy tv DH doesn't like e.g. Holby City, X factor etc. with tea, biscuits, phone etc., nearby so I stop moving about.

comewalktheplankwithme · 22/09/2009 11:43

Right have managed to kitchen so it looks all sparkly for about 5 minutes.
Have just given P dinner while L sleeps I am dreading this afternoon as I have go to the doctors for L?s last set of jabs and P?s preschool booster.

JKS - sure the cake will be fine. Probably end up being extra light??

Am now browsing for drawer organiser to stop baby clothes moving all about and need link to those lovely good housekeeping type diaries / organisers. Can't remember what they are called though. They were on a mumsnet link once but can't find them...

JustKeepSwimming · 22/09/2009 14:54

Organised Mum?
here

the lemon cakes are def odd...not sure they will be eaten, which is a shame as the last time they were yum.

the choc ones are fine cake-wise just not v nice.

Both from ready made mixes

chaosisawayoflife · 22/09/2009 14:55

Is it Organised Mum you are thinking of HMHB? I just got my pocket life book and cover last week and I love it!

I think I may have been a bit over-ambitious with my list yesterday, clearly yesterday's achievements and the red wine went to my head!

So far today:

Get me and dd dressed done
Take dh to work done
Take dd to park done
Finish washing and putting away done
Put away washing up done
Clean sink and kitchen surfaces done
Tidy dumping ground corner of living room
Tidy bedroom
Decide what to do for dinner and do appropriate shopping about to go
Send in electoral roll form
Tidy and hoover living room
Hoover and mop kitchen floor
Clean bathroom
