Okay, I am clearly worrying way too much about this but there are only a few spaces left in the old thread!

(What do I think will happen if we finish without a new list? We'll just make a new one. Relax woman!)

Thanks to alicecrail for the title.

Please finish the old thread before starting on this one - there could be a prize if you are number 1000.

It has to be something quite nice, SIL and her boyfriend are coming for the weekend. I need to get DP to find out what they don't eatand he just keeps saying 'oh I'm sure they eat most things'. I'm fairly certain she won't eat anything spicy which makes things a little difficult since we eat a lot of spicy stuff.

Today:
get up and dressed DONE
go talk to recruitment agency woman in person because their email is not working DONE
washing up DONE
lunch DONE
put away clothes if dry DONE
something nice for dinner?
or something quick for dinner if we're going out for beer

This week:
take spare chilli plants to people who want them
clean bathroom
think of something to cook when SIL comes to visit
supermarket (don't buy extra crap)
clean cooker top
make place look tidy
take DP's thesis in
think of something good to make DP get me as payment for taking his thesis in

CC (((hugs))) The first day is awful I had just started posting on slatterns when dd4 started nursery and I can remember coming home and it been too quiet ..now I can't wait for wed/thu/fri .

cikecaka · 19/05/2009 16:56

Wouldnt mind, I was just leaving in the application form, still have 5 months before she starts, she loves company and most of my friends kids are too old so she gets her own way everytime. It will be a massive shock when she is not the only centre of attention in the room

Meglet · 19/05/2009 19:45

PlumBumMum · 19/05/2009 20:44

No CC and I wouldn't even put us in the animal lovers box either, I actually rang dh today to say new dog would have to go as it tried everything to jump out the fence!

But we're going to give her another chance, the wee kitten is cute though and I loved seeing dd2 play with it, (even if she did nearly kill it), I like it now it is small but once its bigger it will be outside!

stray donkeys don't let dh hear that, his friend got one think he was tempted until he seen all the clegs (clegs love dh)

Morning everyone

MM - Yay! We will all want to see pictures!

CC - you go for a walk at 6:30am?

TA - I have a fab recipe for slow roast leg of lamb. It's mega easy but looks impressive. I do it often when we have visitors as you can just turn the oven down and cook it for an extra 3 hours if your plans change and you want to go out (or if dinner keeps getting put back because you are trying to persuade small children to go to sleep!!!)

1 leg of lamb
1 bottle of white wine
750ml of water
assorted root veg and onions of your choice (I use shallots, red onion, celariac, parsnip, carrot and some potato)
smoked bacon
mushrooms
thyme, rosemary, black pepper, salt to taste

Chop bacon and mushrooms and brown off on the hob in a large, oven proof roasting tray.
Chop up veg and onions and put into tray along with herbs.
Plonk lamb leg on top and nestle it down a bit into the veg.
Pour over wine and water.
Cover with foil and put into low oven - fan.150/160ish
Cook for 5-8 hours or until you get back from the pub. The longest I've left this for is 9 hours - it was amazing.

MuppetsMuggle · 20/05/2009 10:22
