Morning, thanks for the thread

Just looked at the time of your post TMH I hpe you got back to sleep, and can see the dentist (again) this am.
that your dh is wonderful. You need him to be just now. I hope you get lots of rest.

Thanks for explaining Dylsmum .....I was imagining a barefoot 9 yr old! Will it get easier as he grows, or will he/you always be buying expensive shoes to help?

The dds had massive problems getting shoes to fit when smaller and it cost me a small fortune, but thankfully as they have got bigger, their feet have grown into a more average shape and I can buy cheap shoes now I tend to try and buy "proper school shoes but get away with cheap sandals and traienrs.

GO - Not sure about calling you sagtit! I'd stick to GO Thanks for finding the debt free thread for me.

I'm in the process of emptying the fish tank today to move it back into the sitting room......I'm just a bit worried that ds will stand on it.

TheMadHouse · 14/06/2008 07:13

Morning Jas No more sleep for me, I just curled up in to DH, but then DS1 woke and spilled Lucozade all over the bedding. DH sleep through it so I just popped a twoel over it nad will change it once he is up.

I am goiing to call dentists as soon as they are open. I think I have dry socket, there is a lot of goo, which I have tried to clean. I have been folling instructions re salt water, but the pain is pants

tmh thanks for hread, i hope you got some rest after. as jas said its good you have wonderful dh.

jas we don't know yet. the doc said he may grow out of it, or it could stay for life. just glad they dont tend to go for the old fashioned treatment anymore- theyused to break your ankles and reset them apparently. as it was thought the prob was in the ankles, as with out support you end up walking on your ankles!

I'm off to chessington with my family today am very excited. i havent been since i was 13/14

dylsmum1998 · 14/06/2008 07:18

Morning Ladies

TMH I'm sorry your tooth is still giving you gip I hope the dentist fixes the pain once and for all.

Dyls Hope you have a fab day

IC my dh is working today too, I have promised the kids I'll take them fishing

Morning Jas you were up and at it bright and early!

The sun is shining here this morning. I am going to get the lawn cut (have been meaning to do it for weeks!)
I would like to put our tent up and try to fix the zips on it (two of them bust on our last camping trip)
We want to go camping at some point this summer.

Oh...and guess what, the man who kept throwing rubbish in our garden has stopped!! and yesterday he walked past me by the shop and rubbed my arm and asked how I was today! and that he didn't want to fight! so that is a plus!

TheMadHouse · 14/06/2008 09:02

Morning

Dlys Chesington sounds fun.

Luda Oh what happened to change him then?

IVC I dont mind lists. that DH has to work

Well I am off to sit in the dentists and wait for him to look at it

OP posts:
intravenouscoffee · 14/06/2008 09:19

Back again.
Hi Luda! Fishing sounds like fun (for the kids more than you possibly..) When I was 12 we went on holiday on a canal boat and my brother spent the whole week fishing off the side of it. Unfortunately he did this when it was actually in motion - the fish would have really had to love his bait to go chasing down the river at 2 knots . He didn't catch anything, in case you were wondering.

Right, updaste on list (glad people don't mind me cluttering up the thread)

To Do

Morning
Breakfast done
Wash dishes done
Sweep kitchen floor done
Washing load on done
Room rescue lounge done
S and S bathroom done
Make pasta salad for lunch

Afternoon
Dust upstairs
Wash dog bed
Wash dishes
Where's the laundry?

Evening
Vac lounge
Feed dog
Wipe down highchair

Getting there! BTW, how does my kitchen floor get so dirty? Inspired by Jas' morning list I've started sweeping it every day and it's DISGUSTING. Where do all the little bits of dirt come from? I need a self cleaning floor.

Jas · 14/06/2008 10:15

Good luck with the dentist TMH Dylsmum - Enjoy Chessington.

Luda - You have odd neighbours. Better the stroking arm than chucking rubbish though!

A Huge hug to the wonderful TMH who seems to be having a bloody awful time of it. Hope the dental situation resolves soon. Teeth are great but can be a PITA as well as the head.

Hello FLYers

I've been busy. Ed was being the worst sort of small child imaginable at 8:15 this morning so I got up and tried to hide by doing stuff

But

He followed me. And I was living up to my name 'Scram' 'beat it' 'go away' 'leave me alone'

I was tired

Threw myself into a bit of gardening. I Took plants out of pots and replaced them with herbs, tidied round the back door, tidied round the greenhouses, Planted a new patch of spring onions and carrots and sewed the bulb fennel. (phew) Then lots of sweeping up.

I'm shattered now

Need to get Ed to write his Fathers' day card. Oh and do 2 job apps

Joy

grouchyoscar · 14/06/2008 14:33

Money saving tips....Hmmm Grouchy is well cheap! I was raised by a single person on benefit so I've been tight all my life.

Free fun trips with the kids. EG I take Ed to see the donkey up the road, cost, 2 carrots and an apple.

Minibeast hunting in the garden, Worms, ants, spiders, woodlice etc.

Bird spotting
Rambling walks (If it's nice and you're up for it).

Hand me down clothes are brill and charity shops are a lifesaver. Ed would have no clothes at all if we didn't have them. Plus it's good for toys for putting away towards birthdays. I've notice U5s are more impressed by volume rather than cost.

I don't wear make up, I don't use beauty stuff. Aqueous cream is my cleanser, witch hazel my toner and aqueous cream is my moisturiser (all over)

Peg out or use a clothes horse rather than the TD. Only use the TD to 'finish off' the drying. Wash at 30 degrees not 40+

God I'm so boring

intravenouscoffee · 14/06/2008 15:27

Hi GO and Hunny
TMH Hope the ABs kick in soon.

Okay, list going well. DD grumpy and tired cos she has a tooth coming. Have just put her down for another nap. She keeps waking up after 45mins-hour and as a result is quite cross

To Do

Afternoon
Dust upstairs Done
Wash dog bed Done
Wash dishes Done
Where's the laundry? Needs putting away

Evening
Vac lounge
Feed dog
Wipe down highchair

Have also made a banana loaf so am expecting some sort of 'housewife of the year' award from DH. The advantage of always being a sluttish housewife is that when I make a small effort it gets more notice. Always good to set the bar quite low I find

Right, cup of tea before DD wakes I think.

NotABanana · 14/06/2008 16:26

I didn't get a lot more housework done, except for 2-3 more wash loads, but I have nipped to the shop, made lunch for everyone and baked a chocolate cake with butter cream filling and icing with chocolate buttons on the top (for the kids) and strawberry and vanilla shortcakes served with strawberry jam, fresh strawberries and clotted cream.(for us.) Now I am making dinner for us all.

grouchyoscar · 14/06/2008 17:59

I have done my TO DO list for the weekend already! Just need to iron, get sandwiches and uniform ready and do some homework with Ed

May spend tomorrow in bed

How goes it TMH

TheMadHouse · 14/06/2008 18:24

Groucy Tomorrow in bed sounds good to me. I am feeling a little sick at the moment, but never mind.

We are waiting for information on the PM for Baby L. My Bro and SIL et all where due to fly to Turkey on Wedensday - that wont be happening. Just feel so useless to them all. I can not offer any comfort. I can not imagine taking one of my children in to hospital and then leaving without them . My boys are the light of my life and I just want to squeeze them tighter.
