That might be it, my glasses were spinning off my head and apparently I visibly changed colour - so they stopped it. I had no street cred at all. We went with a group of DHs work mates

dylsmum1998 · 14/06/2008 19:57

lol fwiw only 5 of us out of the whole group will go on that one(there were 12 of us) so you're def not alone in liking it. i love rides like that - the faster the better. put me on the teacup etc and i end up feeling very ill for hours after

dylsmum1998 · 14/06/2008 19:58

here

Bewilderbeast · 14/06/2008 20:08

Hello all

Went to the Klimt exhibition in Liverpool today. Very nice, was pleasantly surprised at how nice the centre of Liverpool is.

Done

WM unloaded, washing hung up and another load on
quick tidy downstairs
en-suite s&s
bed made

Think I need to go to the docs back and hip problem is bad and I now can't feel my toes and have pins and needles in the ball of my foot when walking as well as sitting down. Arse!

Money saving tips:
hand me down clothes, cot, toys, highchairs etc - they are barely used anyway unless the hander has a lot of kids
buy everything for kids for the next year in the sales.
buy a whole chicken and joint it yourself
make a shopping list and meal plan (and stick to it )
change electric/gas provider
use a blanket before you switch the heating on

dylsmum1998 · 14/06/2008 20:18

sell what you no longer use on ebay
list things on e-bays 5p listing days (unlike me who reads her emails the day after the said listing day )

so i guess you could add to that read your emails everyday!

bwb the centre of Liverpool is lovely. i really enjoyed going there used to go everyweekend. the world museum is great!

Jas · 14/06/2008 20:26

Eww@ jointing a chicken yourself.
Bewilderbeast - Is it sciatica?

Eww@ scary rides, too!
Glad you enjoyed it though dylsmum Hunny - He bought a random selection of rubbish, including a huge thing that looks like an old school drill, but is for making tenon (? sp) joints, and is being used to make a shed door

dylsmum1998 · 14/06/2008 20:45

thats a good idea tmh

tortoise · 14/06/2008 22:01

Evening all.
DS's grandad is still alive.XP stayed in hosp with him last night so he said would prefer to miss contact this weekend. I had already said that would be ok.
Only problem for me is that i have to feed and have no money left! I wasn't expecting them here so didn't get anything in for them. DD's have breakfast tea on Fridays as a treat. Bought take away tonight with my last £4! I just had a few chips. They had jumbo sausage. (ds2 got invited to a friends for tea(phew!))

Tomorrow will probably be cheese, potato and onion pie! With veg if i have any! Monday i have no idea!

Jas · 14/06/2008 22:40

Tell us everything you have and we'll come up with something tort

I like the money saving tips thread TMH

tortoise · 14/06/2008 22:51

Really dont have much jas. Will have a look tomorrow and then see what can be made. I know there are 3 burgers which ds's can share and a few nuggets but not enough for both girls! Some ham and cheese but need ham for sandwiches really. Will probably be no spuds by the time i do tomorrows tea. As long as DC eat thats ok. I can live on the LDC i made today!

tortoise · 14/06/2008 22:53

OH and has everyone see MNs competitons page? Great prize for FLYers. Look on home page for link and you will see it! Good luck if you enter too (But i am going to win!)

Jas · 14/06/2008 22:57

Money saving tip thread, for FLYers

EustaciaVye · 15/06/2008 06:33

Tort - could you cut the burgers into chunks and serve on pasta with some peas and sweetcorn or something?

EHM · 15/06/2008 07:42

Not sure if this is of any help found this site for tips on meal planning & using food which you have left etc

EHM · 15/06/2008 08:02

tort sorry to hear about ds's grandad When I running low on cheese I always grate for sandwiches it makes it go a longer way. Not sure if that helps Would dc's eat Pasta with grated cheese?
TMH I 2nd that big grouchy hug for you & yours. Since reading your news I can't stop thinking about it. I wish there where words of comfort/advice I could offer..Hope pain of tooth extraction is easing & you get some rest today{{{HUGS}}}
Bewilderhope you get yourself sorted soon.sounds painful.
jas thanks for the money saving tips. I've always found if I do a massive once a month on line shop which includes everything from Asda I save the most money. I can only manage 2 weeks meal planning when I do this.
hunny love the new name.
NAB shortcakes sounds delish!
dylsmum sounds like a fab day.
luda glad the rubbish man has seen sense

Sorry if I've missed anybody its taken me so long to do this.ellie is pulling at my pj's bottoms.

intravenouscoffee · 15/06/2008 09:55

Hello all. Happy Father's Day to all DH/DP's (doubt if any of them will be posting today)

Jas Thanks for the thread - have added the nappy wipes 'recipe'.
TMH from the (few) families I've worked with who have lost a child the only thing that they seem to want is for people to be there. Quite often friends and family don't know what to say or do so they avoid the parents and that makes everything worse. If you can just be around in the weeks and months to come I'm sure that will be invaluable.

And on a much more trivial note, I'm listing again as it really works and my house looks much better this week as a result.

To Do

Morning
Breakfast done
Wash dishes
Sweep kitchen floor
Washing load on done
Room rescue lounge
S and S bathroom done

Afternoon
Ironing 15mins
Wash dishes
Where's the laundry?

Evening
Vac lounge
Feed dog
Dinner!
Wipe down highchair
Shine sink

Will go and achieve.

Happy Sunday all

Had a lovely morning. Kids all made DH cards and breakfast in bed. We went into town and now we are back enjoying the sun

I'm just un packing shopping and tidying round while the kids play in the tent. (Lord knows how it is still standing!)

My mission for today is to get the limescale out the bottom of the loo...have bought some heavy duty limescale busting stuff.

grouchyoscar · 15/06/2008 14:58

Hello All

I'm loving the money saving tips we're sharing.

I'm also feeling sorry for myself. I've fallen over in the garden and added to my bump & bruise collection. I look like I've been in a car accident when I take my clothes off {blush]

I've made some cookies, made the bed and have butties to make for tommorrow and a bit of ironing to do

So, what's happening then?

intravenouscoffee · 15/06/2008 15:14

Hi GO. Sorry to hear about the added bumps, surely a good reason to have a couple of cookies to cheer yourself up?

Nothing much happening here. Am supposed to be doing my 15 mins of ironing and hanging out the washing but an clearly just faffing about on here, flicking from active convos to reviews of items I will never even buy.

Need to focus.. will iron for 15 mins and then have cup of tea and bit of banana loaf. Back soon.
