These are all really impressive!

Things are very slow going here as I have a young baby. However I feel like I could get quite into this.

Today I got rid of an old bathrobe, old dressing gown and quite a few socks with holes in them.

ShockedandStunnedRepeatedly · 15/04/2025 21:47

What is it about old dressing gowns eh?!

ememem84 · 16/04/2025 10:18

Used up a tub/tube/pot or arnica capsules and a travel size shower gel and the shampoo I brought with me (this was decanted jnto a travel size squeeze bottle. I didn’t seal it properly. It broke. So I’ve binned the bottle)

deodorant (also travel mini) will be used up today too.

MrsBird03 · 16/04/2025 12:01

I've sorted the office space today, gone for the container concept that everything has to fit in space provided and i need to be able to put everything in the desk at the end of the day and switch off! Next stop is the craft space

Realfastfoodie · 16/04/2025 12:17

2 old toiletries/moisturiser minis
3 boxes
1 returned bowl to a neighbour

Little bits. Not making a big dent!

PissedOffNeighbour22 · 16/04/2025 12:41

2 pairs of broken kids princess shoes binned
2 broken cat toys binned

2 unused tubes of metanium binned
70 Vinted sales that I’ve finally added up from last month
1 Xmas decoration binned
3 broken toys binned
30 toys sold on vinted including large playsets
4 items of clothing given to my mum
2 damaged kids plates binned
10 clothing items sold on eBay

still have more to count up from vinted but new total for year is 537

Pigtailsandall · 16/04/2025 16:56

wow @PissedOffNeighbour22 that's really amazing! Your Vinted sales are enviable!!

My out today for day 106 was a pair of loafers. I thought they were a mistake when I got them and they def have an orthopaedic vibe, which is why I haven't worn them. They weren't pricey so taking them to charity shop while they can still be sold

IndianSummer78 · 16/04/2025 17:43

3 catalogues recycled
1 uncomfortable bra binned
1 hand cream used up

Total is 3358

TidyClutterIsStillClutter · 17/04/2025 09:33

Two-inch thick pile of lecture notes went into paper bin yesterday.

Despite a few wardrobe culls recently, I still feel there’s too much that I’m just not wearing and it’s making the wardrobes look really stuffed. This is starting to annoy me when I go to put things away, so I am planning the Most Ruthless Clothes Cull Ever this weekend!

And I feel excited about regaining space, not sad or worried about losing any items.

Wish me luck and strength!

CherryRipe1 · 17/04/2025 10:36

Huge bag of soil in the garden, stones, pile of rotting wood, builders bags, old plastic pots really been bugging me & partner has an injured hand. I'm disabled so very frustrating about how to get it to the tip. The wood usually gets taken on free cycle etc but no takers so far. Sieved the soil into large pots very slowly in small stages, gradually put the wood out the front & into car with rubble & plastic pots etc, threw the bags out. Made appointment at the tip & got rid. Yay! 😊

Pigtailsandall · 17/04/2025 17:58

Day 107 - green sweatshirt-material t-shirt. I actually really liked it but it looked terrible on me

Dropped off the bag of recently-decluttered clothes to charity shop today, and cleaned out a pile of papers from my notes drawer. I'm starting to hoard boxes again so flattened those and put them into recycling

Had some clothes listed on eBay but it's Tumbleweed Gulch right now, sold one thing recently & cba with Vinted so bagged up for hospice charity shop. Eyeing up my shoe & boot collection now. Can't really do heels anymore so will list the higher end ones in the hope these go but the rest will go to charity shop. Silly impulse purchase of an expensive dehydrator is cluttering the house up so that can go too and binning some manky old hoarded make up today, along with toiletries. Daughter just did a massive declutter, she's quite ruthless and donated loads to the Sally Army.

SoScarletItWas · 18/04/2025 11:44

I’m not proud that it was stuffed in the wardrobes, but I’m pleased I’ve done it! Six bags of clothes on their way out the door.

Day 108 declutter - salt shaker. The pepper counterpart was lost/given away ages ago and we never use them. Think dh had them before I moved in

curlyrebel · 18/04/2025 20:55

Hi everyone, could I join? I’ve been doing bits here and there but could do with some group motivation so I do this more often.

Today I sold and sent off a top on Vinted. However, I have a bag of other clothes I put on Vinted sitting under my dressing table. At some point thinking I should just give the ones no one is interested in away.

Also put aside some costumes that no longer fit my DC. Again, plan to put on Vinted but need to find time to do that

Hasthisreallyhappened · 19/04/2025 07:49

Probably an odd one but today im going to dejunk the freezer, struggling to get my batch cooking in.

yesterday I defrosted a huge joint of beef that would have be fed at least eight, cut half into chunks for stewing beef and slow cooked with mushrooms and onions for meat pies and the rest I sliced on the meat slicer and packed in slices of six in greaseproof in a tub for dinners or sandwiches.

I know there’s a few bag of veggies like cauliflower that are a bit too frosty so I’ll let them defrost and put it in the wormery to be composted by the wigglies.

ShockedandStunnedRepeatedly · 19/04/2025 08:07

Your dish sounds lovely…

CheesePlantFeet · 19/04/2025 11:48

I've listed the stuff on vinted that didn't need ironing. Need to iron the rest before I take photos. Still have too many clothes that I don't wear, but I'm trying to wear everything once more before deciding if it's a keeper or needs to be sold on. Kind of like the backwards coat hanger thing, but with more intent to reach for things that I don't normally.

Vinted: dress, 2 skirts, coat
Charity shop: ikea bag tidy, shirt
Bin: half dead plant, 10x plastic nursery plant pots, coathanger

Total: 534

NW3Lady · 19/04/2025 12:00

I’m full of admiration @CheesePlantFeet My wardrobe is the thing I’ve been most putting off.

I’ve sorted the main bathroom cabinet this morning whilst baby played on her changing mat. I’m really pleased as it wasn’t nearly such a big job as I’d feared and actually didn’t take that long.

Hoping to get some more done after lunch…

Not odd at all! I did the same to make room for batch cooking at the end of pregnancy. It was a great feeling.

NoTimeToThinkOfUsername · 19/04/2025 14:32

Hi all, just saw this thread and it’s what I need right now (hope it’s ok to join!)

Recently, I went through the games, there were so many board games kids didn’t even look at that went to charity shop.
I find it hard to keep on top of games/toys because any excuse and family gift that sort of stuff. I’ve listed a few books that I thought were worth something, but I don’t think anyone is interested 😂

I was hoping to see the end of my decluttering by the time school holidays ended (Tuesday here) but I’m nowhere near that yet.

unfortunately, I have a loft and bed storage full of clothes, 2 dc and all the clothes they’ve outgrown sitting in the house. I honestly don’t know why! Today, I’m hoping to start with the bulky items, coats. I have told myself, by the end of the day the coats need to be out of the house.

I know the house will feel so much better once I’ve declutter properly :)

curlyrebel · 19/04/2025 18:45

I’ve got a similar problem as you @NoTimeToThinkOfUsernamewith house full of outgrown clothes and toys that have been gifted to DC. We hardly ever buy our DC toys or clothes as we get given lots, but then we have to keep on top of getting rid of older ones too.

Today I had quite a productive day. This morning I cleaned out the bathroom cupboards which I’ve been wanting to do for so long. Then this afternoon I went through my shoes and trainers. I hadn’t realised I had so many. I took out all high heels I can’t wear these days and ones looking very battered. Listed a couple of shoes/boots on Vinted but not sure I’ll have much interest. Others need to go charity shop when it’s next open!
