just to put a positive note on luda's plague- my ds got them at 5 he had no more than 20 spots in total. was not ill at all
drove me mad cos we couldnt go anywhere in case he infected anyone was off school for a week cos that was policy not because he was ill. maybe if yours get them they can be like my ds- very mild

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:57

oh...god yes...my neighbours little boy only had a few spots too....sorry....should have mentioned that

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 16:59

Just in case anyone wanders on to the FLY thread looking for talk about housework - I havent done any today

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:00

Aww FGS I hope it isn't the pox but it sounds as though it might be (sorry!)

@ Ludas posts!

TMH I'm another who has had moments like that - nightmare that no-one offered to help though

Did youfind the cheque book Ruby? I always have to hunt high and low for mine too.

well, dh and I didn't make it to the shops cos I was too anxious But we did a supermarket shop together which was suprisingly nice (and expesive) and then had a lovely lunch out so all-in-all a good day off.
We attempted to take the kids to the park after school then got caught in an almightly rain storm so came home v damp indeed!

We have a party to go to this evening

i have bad stories of pox too, my friends twins were worst case? lol to share or not to share

Jas · 02/05/2008 17:19

Just passing through.....piriton syrup for the pox (don' think you should give it as well as medised though)
I don't think I've ever heard you swear FGS. I hope she is ok. The dds came out on the same day, dd1 was covered (even internally ) and wouldn't let me touch her so calomine no good. DD2 had about 6 spots, but still has scars on her tummy where she scatched them.

House is tidy , kids are fed, just need to hoover, s&s again, and relax

Ooooh bianca a party tonight that sounds great.
Hope you have a good time

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:24

Not looking forward to it at all tbh Luda...

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:28

This is me in the kitchen tonight!

LOL...

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:29

lol

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:30

Except its pizza....not chicken in a basket

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:32

Are you going somewhere local? or is there travelling involved?

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:33

It's local, just the competitive mum crowd (am sure I've mentioned them to you before!)

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:34

Oh...you have indeed! Is there someone friendly to sit by?

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:37

What is it with competetive mums? We have a small group who are VERY cliquey...but I tend to avoid them at all costs!

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:39

Actually

It is the hardcore welsh speaking mums who have the clique...so i couldn't join in even if I wanted to..

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:39

Me too. They can be a nightmare - literally turning their backs on me as soon as one of their own comes along.

Our friend couple are away and unable to come

I'm sure it'll be fine. Plenty of them are friendly really...I'm just being mean and trying to get out of going lol!

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:40

you know you are not wanted around when they switch to welsh as you approach! LOL

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 17:44

There are some like that I know too....one lady is a good friend of my friend....but blanks me completely when she is around. My friend will even say..."You know ludaloo don't you" and she will smile a forced smile, and then continue to talk to my friend!

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:46

I sooo know that type Luda

Shocking really.

tortoise · 02/05/2008 17:50

Hello all.
I am all alone! DS's have gone to their Dads and DD's have gone to tea at a friends. (well, actually it is their Half Brothers!)

Bianca Glad you had a good day. Shame about shopping and rain! Been pretty sunny here today.
Luda Lol @ all your posts!
FGS Sounds like it could be pox. Really good to get it while younger. It is going around here at the moment. Mine have all had it. One stupid mum at DD's school has been doing the school run all week and her DS has pox. She told me the Dr told her it is ok and only passed by skin to skin contact! Me thinks she lies! She just didn;t want to stay home all week!
Hi SMS TMH What a nightmare. no one helped you out.
dylsmum well done.

I have been busy in the loft today looking for more stuff for the car boot sale. I have loads! But really unsure of how to price things. Maybe i should start a thread to ask car booters advice!
Really proud of DS1 too. See thread from last night. Will do link in mo.

I will need to do a big tidy ready for my Dads visit! Would be good for him to see it tidy! I was always the one with the messy bedroom! Just shows all his telling offs didn't make me into a tidy adult!

BiancaCastafiore · 02/05/2008 17:52

I saw that thread Tort, how is he (and you) today?

tortoise · 02/05/2008 17:55

Hi bianca. We are fine. Nothing has been mentioned today. Hope when i get 5 mins with him i can tell him i am pleased he could tell me. And have a general chat about things.Thread here
