Down the side of the computer?
In a bag you haven't used for 6 months?

TMH sory you've had a rough time

ruby is t in the draw/box/cupboard where everything gets shoved for next time you need it? which then extends into those cupboards/draws/boxes as there is soooo much??

i have just been to uni to hand in last assignment and had lunch with some others o the course. seems i wasnt the only one who misread the e-mail regarding this afternoons lecture. i took dd with me, she slept through lunch and woke up ahlf way through lecture, which turned out actually just a chat about how this year has gone- nothing important. so she was good excuse to leave
off now to sort out going to collect ds from school

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 15:48

Hi everyone

DD1 had a meltdown when I dropped her at pre-school today. It was awful - she sobbed Completely ok when I collected her though. She now has a few spots in random places. I'm wondering if we may be in for a bout of chicken pox. Do they start as normal red spots are are they pus-y to start with? Thes er just red spots atm.

DD2 has such a sore face from all the snot & wiping.

We did go round the shops though and have been to a friends for lunch. Now they are both tired and grumpy.

Can see I'm in for a great weekend!

TMH - it happens to us all. And if someone had stopped to help you, you'd probably have been even more embarrassed so dont let it get to you.

She seems fine other than the tears this morning and we dont have heaps of spots yet. Only about 5-7 and they are little pink ones, not blistery or anything.

FGS They start as just red spots, and get a little blister on them after a few days.
The blisters then pop and they scab over (nice!)
Camomile lotion is good to sooth them....and I also gave piriton when mine all had them.

TMH Awww you are definately not alone there...I have had plenty of moments just like that... no one helped though...maybe they thought it would be better not to interfere.

Ruby did you find the cheque book?

Well sun is shining here now so the kids are all in the garden...apart from DD2 who is asleep on the sofa.....she was sick again this afternoon

Better go and fix us up some grub really....I sooooo can't be bothered to cook! No idea what to have tonight.
If it was only me, I'd have some toast and a packet of crisps and be done DH would FREAK out if I put that on his plate LOLOLOLOL....the kids probably wouldn't mind, but they would think I'd gone mad

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 16:22

Not sure actually. I had it at 27 and had over a month off work. very nasty. But....I'd quite like a nice long weekend thank you and not reams of calpol, nursing etc

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:24

I got them for my 21st b'day....LOVELY pressie! NOT!

Keep a count of the spots....I have heard that a hot bath brings them out (obviously not too hot!)

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:27

oooh...or is it Calomine lotion?? I'm confused!

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:27

I think it might be Calomine....not Camomile

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:28

Its pink and smells chalky....you know the one LOLOLOLOL!

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:29

Camomile is tea isn't it.....

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:29
Grin
FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 16:31

I know the one you mean. Calamine. Yukky stuff. I think she has one on her forehead that she didnt have earlier. She has 6. How quickly do they come out?

well DD2 was the first to get them, and I noticed 3 spots on her when I went to pick the other two up from school....by bed time she had quite a few more....by the morning she had loads! It took about 2 days for them all to come out.

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 16:34

Can I just say......

Shit Shit Shit.

Just in case it is chicken pox.

To those of you who are a bit new, this is rare as I dont often swear.

Of course if it isnt, then I will be full of the joys of spring later.

Hmm....she says she is really cold now, but actually she's warm.

Can I have some sympathy just in case please?

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:35

Oooh I hadn't heard that Ruby.... mine seemed soothed by it....I think the first initial coldness takes the itch off....but I can see that the drying of it might not help...

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:38

LOL
Sympathy comming your way....

I had all 3 of mine completely spotty from head to toe! DS and DD1 were spotty for their birthdays DD1's spots were so bad she had them in her mouth and the soles of her feet!

Not so sure I'm helping here! but good luck

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:40

Are Chicken Pox going around FGS? Do you know anyone with them?

We picked ours up in Scotland....and infected the whole of 2 villages

FunkyGlassSlipper · 02/05/2008 16:43

at luda's plague! I dont know anyone who's had chicken pox recently. It was going around about 3 months ago but we missed it then.

Ludaloo · 02/05/2008 16:46

hmmm it could be doing a second round...that is what happened here...a few missed the first bout, but pretty much everyone's kids I know got it eventually.

(I think they should have thanked me really....I think it is less stressful/painful when they are small....speaking from experience, I was ill for days at 21)
