There is a lady in my town with a pet monkey (, chickens, dag, cats, rabbits, birds and other assorted wildlife) She lives in a old semi right in the town centre, too!

DD1 has made a miracle recovery and is cooking tonights tea as part of her brownie cooking badge.

I've cleared out the food cupboard and the only out of date thig I found was a pot noodle

I've also tried to rehang some picures and succeded in making big holes in the walls, but not got the hooks to stay. I'll have to ask dp to do it for me.

lol at cookie

Ludaloo · 14/03/2008 14:41

ooooh they are just about to blow the bomb up!!!!! Dh has just phoned to say they have taken it to a nearby field.

I'm going to see if I hear it!

babyjjbaby · 14/03/2008 15:16

TheMadHouse · 14/03/2008 15:22

Wow I have missed loads

Luda a bomb how thrilling

Nab Receipe please

Bianca 12 hours is a big commitment

BW get well soon

Get Well Vibes for the poorley ones

We have been to music and had a great time, lunch was great and then I managed to hoover whole house and spend some auality time with DS2. We watched ice gae and did jigsawa and played snap!!!!

DS2 has a bit of an off tummy (runs), so not sure what is going on there.

I really need to pop to the shops, but not sure I can be bothered, also not sure of what to cook for Dinner

Ludaloo · 14/03/2008 15:56

They set the bomb off...I didn't hear a thing! Just picked the kids up and they were super hyper...they had been out on afternoon play time and heard it

DD2 seemed overly interested...wanted to know all the where's why's and how's (I swear she will be an investigator one day)

I drove back past to just catch DH and some of the garage lads heading off toward the field....I don't think he has done much work today!!!

Well what an exciting day!

baby well done you on the ironing! 5 Hours!! gosh I can see why you are knackered.

TMH Glad you had a good day

Better go and contemplate supper.
Keep fit tonight, but I'm going to give it a miss I think. Wait until Monday just to make sure.

BiancaCastafiore · 14/03/2008 16:07

Luda, how disappointing, lol! I like the elephant story
Jas she sounds like an intertesting character My neighbours are not far off her for pets...no monkey (yet) though, thank heavens!
TMH I know, I wish my bro would see it from my point of view - he has no concelt of what's involved in having small children.
babyj wow @ 5 hours ironing! Well done you! Put your feet up for the rest of the afternoon

Glad to hear Shannon Matthews has been found All a bit odd though, waiting to hear whta's gone on, hope she's OK.

Ds has his friend here and they're upstairs on the computer. His frned is the type who's reluctant to do anything much at all so is quite difficult to entertain.

I heard at school that the school has had 44 applicants for the 30 places available to children entering school in Sept so has to turn away 14 kids - unheard of for our small village school! It just shows how much the current head teacher has raised the standard in the school (when dd started 3 years ago several parents wouldn't even apply cos the school had gone so downhill under the last head) Both my childern have been lucky in entering in low intake years (24 in dds class and 21 in ds)

Basic muffin recipe for TheMadHouse

9oz plain flour
3 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt (I leave this out and they are delish)
3oz granulated white sugar
1 egg
8fl oz milk
3fl oz corn oil or 3 oz butter, melted

Prepare muffin tins with liners or grease. Preheat oven to 190-200C/375-400F/Gas mark 5-6

In a large bowl, sift together (or stir well with a fork) flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in sugar and set aside.

In another bowl, beat the egg with a fork. Stir in the milk, followed bu the oil.melted butter.

Pour all liquid ingredients into dry mixture. Stir until just combined, scraping sides and bottom of the bowl as you stir. This mixing should only take about 30 seconds. The batter will be lumpy, but no dry flour should be visable.

At this point I added choc chips and raspberries.

Fill muffin cups 3/4 full or to the top for larger muffins. Bake for 20-25 minutes until tops are lightly browned and spring back when pressed gently. Allow muffins to cool for several minutes to make removal easier. Best served warm.

Have a lovley weekend with my family

DontDreamItBeIt · 14/03/2008 19:29

Evening

NAB - Can I make muffins in ordinary tins or would it all go horribly wrong?
TMH - Have a lovely weekend. I hope ds1 enjoys his birthday.
babyjj 5 Hours ironing, and it wasn't even yours! Your sister is a lucky woman.
Bianca - I can see what you mean. I don't think I could do 12 hrs study a week at the moment, and I don't already have a job!
Luda - I love the elephant story

I'm visitin a friend who has recently moved away tomorrow, which I'm looking forward to, so I will try and finish off the housework and leave the pace nice to come back to.

DontDreamItBeIt · 14/03/2008 19:30

oops. It is a while since I did that

3NAB · 14/03/2008 20:52

I use proper muffin tins with muffin cases but you could make them as normal size buns.

tortoise · 14/03/2008 21:48

Evening.
Haven't read the thread yet!]
DS1 is home. The arguing started almost as soon as we got home lol! Lots of muddy clothes went straight in the WM! He had a great time.

DontDreamItBeIt · 14/03/2008 22:39

Thanks NAB, I'll give it a try before I invest in a proper tin

Tortoise - Glad he had a good time.

I've spent the last two hours painting

dylsmum1998 · 14/03/2008 22:44

nab thanks for the recipe, will have to give that a go later.

was going to leave the dishes on the drainer til morning cos I'm knackered tonight, went for a shower walked in the kitchen and theres this little thing in my head saying "you'll feel so much better in the morning if you dont wake up to those".
guesss what- the sink is shining! did not think flylady would stick in my head, especially after just a week, has anyone whos been flying for a while given up sink shining yet- or does it stay for ever

DontDreamItBeIt · 14/03/2008 22:45

The sink shining comes and goes for me, but I always do best if i can keep it up.

tortoise · 14/03/2008 22:51

My sink is full of dishes.
Will tackle them in the morning!

So tired tonight. off to bed now i think.

EHM · 15/03/2008 07:05

Something for the weekend

3NAB · 15/03/2008 12:48

I make muffins all the time so the proper tin and cases are worth it for me.
