Hello.
DS1 went off on the coach happily.
DD1 appears to be much better. teacher said there are 6 off with sick bug. Still hoping no-one else gets it!

Have had a tidy up in the kitchen this morning. No electric until 12. Been off since about 4am!

Bianca Hope DS is feeling better soon. Hope you get to go and get some flowers. Will do DS good to get some fresh air. DD1 went in the buggy to school this morn. DD2 wasn't to pleased!

Sorry, forgot all the rest! Have to get some lunch now.

OOoo ruby you are a wise old bird (Can I join you're fan club?)

TheMadHouse · 10/03/2008 15:45

Ruby You made me cry Thank you for your support. I just feel well, really confused. I know I am doing the right thing. I am prepared to fight for it. But I know that if defo means no more children (not that we are planning any), but it is a little sad.

DH said to me yesterday - we could always adopt or foster

EHM · 10/03/2008 15:50

TMH I think if you need to cry you should.ruby is very wise. My fear is that I'll say/post something & it will be inappropriate. I've said before you are brave + you are going to be on the biggest emotional roller coaster with lots to consider. YOur dh sounds very very supportive & that must be fantastic. You also have 2 very gorgeous little fellas who will love their special mummy regardless of what your boobs look like.{{{Hugs}}}

OP posts:
BiancaCastafiore · 10/03/2008 16:15

Ruby that link was interesting - didn't her boobs look great?!
TMH you have all our support in whatever you feel is best for you. I think you're very brave x x

I really ought to think some more about genetic tests for myself...too anxious about it all though tbh...I might approach the doc sometime and see what they feel is suitable for me...

EHM · 10/03/2008 16:16

bianca i've just sent you a txt.

OP posts:
TheMadHouse · 10/03/2008 16:24

EHM I am a tough Northern Bird - you could not offend me if you tried

Bianca you know where I am if you need to chat

sagacious · 10/03/2008 16:27

What Bianca/Ruby and Ehm said !

Ds has just culled some old toys .. I am in

Minkus · 10/03/2008 16:49

Bianca reading your post about your mum made me realise how lucky I am to still have mine around- went and called her straight away- so thank you for sharing and for your loss all those years ago.

TMH your story (what I can gather from it being a newbie to this thread ) is another one that has made me think. In both mine and dh's family there is a history of breast cancer and when I was in Lloyds chemist the other day they were selling breast examination guides so have bought one for me, my sis, mum, MIL and SIL too. No suggestion of any genetic predisposition in in either family but it's another thank you from me for sharing your tale on here, hope that it is as useful for you as us xxx

tortoise · 10/03/2008 17:04

TMH Lots of wise words on here from wiser people than me! As Bianca says You have out support whatever you decide is best got you.

Bianca Hard for you to make the step towards getting drs advice but really worth doing. I think i would want to know either way myself. My Nan died from breast cancer.

BiancaCastafiore · 10/03/2008 17:05

minkus we often don't appreciate a good thing till it's gone. I never had the chance/thought to appreciate my mum properly (something which has only really come since having my own children)
TMH Thanks

I managed a quick trip to the cemetry after I'd collected my dad from the station. Mums grave was covered in snowdrops and daffodils and primroses so looked really pretty and full of life I'm glad I popped down there and feel better for it

Better go and serve supper - tuna and pasta bake, nice and easy

BiancaCastafiore · 10/03/2008 17:05

tort I know, I know - it's soooo scary though

tortoise · 10/03/2008 17:09

Glad you manaaged to get to the cemetry. Sounds like the grave looked very pretty.

Grouchyoscar · 10/03/2008 17:12

Hello again everybody

Ed is flatly refusing to attempt to read {grr} I think he may be tired as he was up at 6:05 this morning

Been to work, DH is making minestrone for tea and I'm searching for cool things to do with Ed for the Easter Holidays. nd some light flying in the laundry area

DH has also helped with Ed's Easter Bonnet (Well, boater with tissue flowers and pom pom chickens on) which was nice. I think he's looking forwards to going back to work tomorrow!

Bianca a hug for you and one for Minkus too

TMH You are being incredibly brave. Positive vibes from the Grouchy House going up the A1 to you

TheMadHouse · 10/03/2008 18:44

Evening all

Just had a "moment" Screamed at DH that I might as well do all the bloody disapline and be the one that the DS's hate - exactly what we didnt want, but god he can be waste of space on that front sometimes.

He baths, I room rescue the conservatory, get drinks ready and PJ's etc. Chaos coming from the bathroom, more water out than in and he is just shouting - yes a 20 month old and a 3 year old are going to listen

Bianca It must be nice to have somewhere to visit. My dad is out at sea (Mum scattered his ashes on her own and wouldnt tell me or my bro exactly where- no suprise there then). That is one of the reasons for the tree.

Minkus I am not brave just stuborn - took a while to get the DS's I Will be well enough to watch them grow up. Aunt died from ovarian, another aunt currently in remission. loads of relatives have had stuff

Tort I have no advise I am afraid on your issue
