Desperate Flyers - it's the weekend again

Apologies if someone has already started a weekend thread - I couldn't see it. Haven't been on here all week. Parents visiting (mixed blessing), lots of appointments for DD. She's been ill, DH ill and grumpy, DS1 had a burn on his foot, DS2 very difficult at the moment and
I have completely let go of my routines this week. SO need to get back on track today.

To start: DW, tidy kitchen, wipe surfaces, sweep floor.

Good weekend wishes to all x

Hi FGS. Sorry but I've no ideas other than those already suggested. I hope both your dds get better soon.

luda Not before 5pm! [pretend gasp of horror emoticon]

Hi Ruby. Yes, that thread is something else, isn't it? I'm interested in where you came up with the idea about the neighbours! I don't remember seeing anything like that on the thread!

Right. I'm going to do some more and then it'll be time for tea. It is so strange having peace and quiet here this w/e. I'm at home in case ds needs me (he's at a residential course about an hour away) and dd is away with dh and the dog, so it's just me and the cat here. It's so peaceful - other than the twits who drove noisily out of the estate at 4am, of course. Grrrr.

FGS Poor DD. It does sound like it could be the milk causing it. Hope she is ok now.
RR I saw that thread too. I think TR was sticking up for us well! I didn't bother posting.
Luda Well done, you have done well today.

I have been busy sorting DD's room (again)! Now tidy! For 5 mins. And i have managed to get them to give up a few toys/teddies.Yay!!

Simply · 16/02/2008 17:49

Really Ruby! Ha ha ha!

Hi Tort. Good to see you.

Bad news. My chess playing ability has gone! I'm not playing regularly and I think I'm just not able to concentrate atm and even level 2 is beyond me! I was on level 4 before. (No pun intended.)

tortoise · 16/02/2008 17:56

DD1 is looking poorly. She is shivering and feeling tired. Just how i felt on Friday!

ludaloo · 16/02/2008 18:08

Where is this thread I'll tell em!

(actually I probably won't as I can't be bothered to rise to it....I had enough trying to defend my FLY babes to a thread cod started once....falls on deaf ears!)

tort Hope DD is ok sounds like she has caught your bug.

tortoise · 16/02/2008 18:14

It is here luda! Go get em!

ludaloo · 16/02/2008 18:30

Ok...I rose to the bate!
Grrrrr I hate people who think taking pride in your home is some pathetic female stereotypical crap!
I would much rather have a tidy clean home thankyou very much.

Pofacedandarrogant · 16/02/2008 19:45

Hello all!
Well to fill you all in, we managed to get our mortgage offer 5pm wednesday and to my disbelief we actually completed on Friday and now I have a lovely big house to move into next week!
I have namechanged by the way, you'll never guess who! Got flamed last night on another thread which really annoyed me!
Have spent the day moving DD1's possessions from her room-that girls has created a tardis-we moved 3 carloads of stuff and have another load to do tomorrow!

Pofacedandarrogant · 16/02/2008 19:46

Well done pofaced.Very ! I would love a nice big house!

Pofacedandarrogant · 16/02/2008 20:07

Hi Ruby and tort-yes it will be lovely, though methinks my de-cluttering could do with a kick up the proverbial.
Feel free to check out that thread ruby and tell me by all means if I was living up to my new name!
Lovely day down this way but oh so coooooold!
DH has taken DD2 and DD£ to watch some basketball and DD1 has gone on a school trip for halfterm so I have the evening to myself!
I'm going to watch Tv, catch up on the ironing and drink some lovely chilled sauvignon blanc, then settle back into a hot bubble bath and nestle into bed........

intravenouscoffee · 16/02/2008 20:44

Hello again - have been offline all day helping my brother put up a kitchen blind (it's a non-stop party at my house) . Thanks to Bianca for the website and to you all for the warm welcome...I'm almost feeling motivated to do some dusting!

Simply · 16/02/2008 22:13

I can't call you by your new name as it isn't you (iyswim) and I don't want to use your old name incase you don't want it on this thread. After reading the thread I've lost the will to live! I agree with you. I've chosen (ooops, sorry, dh and I chose - but after seeing me go through labour twice he thought I had first choice!) three first names for ds and two for dd. The name ds is known as is very Welsh but very easy to say. The other two are very Welsh and much more tricky to pronounce correctly. Very much the sort of names you see in the credits on S4C. Dd's names are very Welsh and are a bit tricky to pronounce depending on where you're from. Dd's first name can be shortened (the first time I can think of that happening though was in Year 5 and the teacher apologiesed (not that she needed to) and explained that her sister had the same name and was known by the shortened version; it is often shortened by friends now and even by me, which is fine) and the middle name can be used as a whole, or the first half only or the last half only. All 3 ways are correct Welsh girls names. I liked that flexibility. So, no, I do not think that you lived up to your new name as I agree with you and I'd like you to change it now, please!

intravenouscoffee I like the "non-stop party at my house" bit. When people in work ask on a Monday what I did on the w/e, I feel a bit like that! "Ummmmmmm...." Whilst they have been out with friends, to parties etc!

Right. I'm off to bath and then bed. See you tomorrow.

TrinityRhino · 16/02/2008 22:15

I was standing up for flylady on that other thread
I was getting pissed off too
BUT
I reckon if you dont 'get it then you just can't be made to understand it IYSWIM

so I kinda gave up trying

TheMadHouse · 16/02/2008 22:39

Evening all

Po name does not suit you at all and good news on the house front. Space bhow cool. BTW both my boys have old fashioned and shortenable names. DS1 (nearly 3) was asked what his name was for his nursrey peg and he chose one of the shortened version. DS2 well whatever takes my facey really. I think that there names should be able to grow with them. SO we made sure that we liked all versions and possible versions. I am old fashioned and it is not an insult in my book.

Ruby Pah the thread just doesnt warrent a response. I fly is suits me, it doesnt matter what it stands for, for me and mine it means we have a routine that suits all and is done by all. It means that things are not insumountable and i can achieve something, it fits in with our lifestle. The boys are growing up learning to do things too. It is not linked to be being a female, just being in the house more often. Oh yes and it helped my depression.

Anyway Whitby was lovley and Saga Yep on the mary shelly and dracula. It is a lovley place. We had great fun and DS2 even had a donkey ride. It is great to live so close to some wonderful countyside, we drove back over the moors and just had a fab family day.

Washer has been on and I will iron tomorrow, but I am going to let DH have a lie in as he is feeling a bit under the weather.

Night All

Pofacedandarrogant · 16/02/2008 23:45

How lovely are all my flylady friends! Thank you for the nice comments and I will change my name back soon!
This thread is such a haven!
intravenouscoffee welcome and I am sure you will find loads of support here!

Janni · 17/02/2008 07:56

Morning ALL
Was just thinking about the anti-Fly Thread. Every so often someone comes and has a go at it. It's not worth getting upset about and what I notice is that a few new people join after the anti-Fly thread [grin.] (I don't think anyone leaves).

I'm not even trying to get back to cleaning routines at the moment after last week, just tidying and preparing to go away next week for half-term. My last post yesterday was that I was entering THE DARK ZONE of DS2s bedroom and I never came back!!

First jobs (apart from a second cuppa)
Tidy kitchen, do DW, putDDs toys out of the way, DD meds.

Anyway....

Quick tidy round today...kids have homework to do and I need to get their school stuff organised. they are back on Tuesday.
