Evening all! Hope everyone has managed to have as good an afternoon as poss! And thanks again for all the thanks
!
Ta for all the explanations about NISA. As Zoo said, it's worrying to hear about traditional corner shops disappearing that is exactly the type of shop some people will be relying on atm.
A very warm welcome to Fluffiest (great nn!
) The gardening sounds great!
Giveme I hope you family member recovers quickly
Arf at your ds rubbing his face on your legs like a cat
That's really funny! I hope you sleep better tonight.
It is a very worrying time money-wise atm with everything so uncertain.
Toostressy I'm not surprised you feel the way you do. Wishing you lots of strength xxx
KTCluck I entirely agree and I don't think you are being over-dramatic at all.
Thank you very much for article Expletive it is amazing what horses can do for people - hippotherapie is quite a 'thing' over here - especially for children with autism. Rhubarb planting sounds good! Is it the type you blanch? (My late pa used to use old chimney pots.)
Hope you enjoyed your supper Lane!
We3kings love the fact that your ds3 blow dried your hair!

Zoo Love your ds's word of the day idea! Slouper is a good one!
Well done for long list and tidying hallway
! Dd went through a soap dodging stage at around about 12 yrs but that passed a couple of years later thankfully!
Generally speaking we tend to be "up early, scrub and dress to shoes" people because of the dogs and because this house is cold and old has sticky out nails and falling plaster and doesn't lend itself to loungewear ifyswim! You definitely need hard footwear too because some of the floorboards are a bit rough, the floor tiles are cold, and we don't have a stitch of carpet anywhere. And the stairs aren't carpeted either! (I'm selling it well aren't I
)
Love soda bread Lisette (although mine is always too heavy!) And yes, apologies for dual name use there, which was not my intention (and rather undermines the purpose of name-changing!). Huge thanks again for volunteering for May!
And thank you, yes, I am totally fine now and have been for a while. Dh and dd have mild colds though (like me they have no cough, no temp). Had to make a judgement call about going out to supermarket today after calling our doctor and state info line and seven days of self-isolating on a different floor to dh and dd - today was eighth day -(rules are not as specific here as in UK) as we were getting very low on food for us and furries. Collective decision was that the least risk for everyone else and for us, was for me to go out straightaway before I mingled with other two. So I chose nearest supermarket (4 mins in car) straight after morning shower wearing clean clothes having disinfected bank card, keys, glasses, shopping bag, wore enormous cotton scarf wrapped around my face and plastic gloves and spent 12 mins in there (I timed it!) . Only one other man in there thankfully (distant) and cashier behind plastic screen.
I got a bit panicky in the shop though because the atmosphere was so silent and tense. Has anyone else experienced this? You could literally hear a pin drop which is really strange in a supermarket; it felt rather unreal! And my legs felt like they wanted to run very fast in a different direction the whole time. Very odd! It sounds really silly because there was nothing hard about the trip at all (in fact it was easier than usual, no crowds, no queues etc) but I hated it and told dh that I'm not going again for another seven days so we will just have to make things last. The furries are getting a bit plumper than usual anyway (fewer walks) so they can do with a few less rations and dh and I need to diet too!
Scrubbed hands, face, glasses, keys, wiped bank card, changed shoes and changed in to trackie bottoms and t-shirt and slippers in outer hall when I got back, and spent a lot of time Dettoling door, fridge, freezer, cupboard, kettle handles and taps and light switches and wiping down all the shopping and cupboards when I got back. I don't know whether this is over the top but I don't care!
Also today cleaned kitchen sink, surfaces inc stove top and kitchen bin, changed towel and tea towels.
Cleaned downstairs cloakroom and changed towel.
Folded clean bath towels and pants.
Served lunch (home made soup, bread, cheese) and cleared up
Cleared top of dh's chest of drawers
Cleared out BRC
Emptied dw
Soaked some whites
scrubbed dog bowls
X 2 wms then hung up on terrace
washed dog blankets and towels and td'd
dead-headed lots in the garden
moved lots of pots around on terrace
planned next moves in garden
did some shredding of papers in office
did about 2 hours of work work (dh had calls all day so didn't have much time to hand out work)
dh still busy this eve so served cold chicken and veg for supper for me and dd, made him up a plate for later, and cleared up kitchen again.
(NB newcomers BRC = bag of random crap)
Feel a bit guilty saying this but (apart from rather tense supermarket this morning) today hasn't been too bad. The house looks visibly cleaner. And the weather was sunny and bright (if cold). I have some narcissi in pots on the terrace that are giving off wafts of lovely scent. And had a lovely twenty minutes with Dog the Younger playing "mind games" on the lawn.
Boudoir is at stage where there is a massive pile of boxes and BRCs along one wall but the rest of the floor is clean and clear but now need to work my way around and finish clearing tops of all the horizontal surfaces again. It is starting to look a bit better though.
I am definitely a "butterfly" in Clutterbug terminology because all my clothes are hanging on hooks and all my drawers and wardrobes are relatively neat and fairly empty. Need to rectify that too!
Gah, sorry for the long rambling essay!
Going to give up now for a bit and read a book for a bit before bed! Drank too much coffee today! Sleep well everyone!
It's been really lovely "chatting" to you all this month!
In the words of Willow, No Fledgling Left Behind"!
G'night all!
