Day 2

I have never worn shoes in the house, nor do I wear makeup, but the general idea of getting ready for the day before you go donstairs is a good one (says Jas hoping no one can see her in her pjs)

Here is the Crisis cleaning plan. I love it. It really does work, and anyone who wants instant results this week, this is the way to go.

BigBear - mm22boys is right. Once you are up and running the bath gets a swish and swipe every morning, and when you use it.The routine also runs on a weekly pattern, and during bathroom week you do an extra clean/shine of the bath.
Setting up your own routine is the thing though. I have set aside Mondays as bathroom day, and always go over it all every week.

OK, I have taken over active convos ith FLY threads, my work is done

My sink is still shiny, and my children are still sleeping, so I am going to do step 2 and go and have a quick shower and get dressed.

(I have started earing fake crocs in the house and it does mean I can go outside to hang washing without hunting/geting wet feet.

Morning everyone

I wear flip flops on my dustbin journeys.

Sink still shiny and I have just loaded the dishwasher.

Look forward to the debate about shoe-wearing

SouthEastLondonMummy · 28/08/2007 08:08

Thanks Jas.

Now, shoes in the house, I'm just not willing to go that route.

I'll do anything for a clean house, but I won't do THAT.

Does leaving a pair of old Birkenstocks by the front door count? Or is that clutter?

iris66 · 28/08/2007 08:14

morning all - (sink still shiny ahhhhh ) flip flops here too

ludaloo · 28/08/2007 08:17

Lol at Jas....you are taking over the world Mwah ha ha !!

Off to get dressed in a mo. ..... ludaloo looks sheepishly at her tatty grey slippers and decides that these will suffice in the case of an emergancy dash outside. (I've even been known to forget I have these on and do the school run in them!! )

Sink is not shiny now...it is full of dishes from supper last night (mis-timed the dishwasher and realised as I was about to load supper stuff in...it was already full!) Will empty it and reload it in a mo also.

tjacksonpfc · 28/08/2007 08:30

ok im up and dressed down to shoes just finishing my coffee then going to start got to do the kitchen first

pobletsmum · 28/08/2007 08:33

Please can I join in? i'm soooo daunted by the whole idea of keeping my whole house clean and tidy that I end up depressed about it and do nothing at all. I think your BabyFly steps might be a way forward.

I am dressed, although will have to change before going out, and wash, clean teeth & do makeup. I don't wear shoes in the house but have fake crocs by the back door ready for bin trips/hanging washing etc. I'm a day behind, but WILL clean my sink tonight (positive thinking...). It's empty so that's a good start.

I really hope that this might be what I need to get back in the swing of things. I will have to ignore any other lists of chores/targets apart from the baby step on here each day, otherwise I will be overwhelmed. I hope that's OK?

pobletsmum · 28/08/2007 08:35

Can I just check - today I just have to get dressed? And make sure my sink is shiny? I don't have to 'do the kitchen' yet do I?

Jas · 28/08/2007 08:40

pobletsmum - you sound a perfect candidate for FLYing. [ You are supposed to build up gradually, and keep reminding yourself that it took for your house to get like this and you aren't going to have show home overnight.

washing is almost finished, and sink is clean. I'm off out.

Have a good day FLYbabies

Thanks Jas, that I CAN do!

tibni · 28/08/2007 08:59

Well up, showered and dressed (no shoes here either!). Detail made our bed this morning down to cushions and posh teddy (gift a couple of years back) came out of the shower just hesitating to give sink a bit of a swipe round to find me SN son in my bed with "bear". Oh well, it will be baby steps for me

ludaloo · 28/08/2007 09:06

Ok I'm washed, dressed..to socks...although have to hop over the wall to the shop shortly so will put shoes on in a mo.

harleyd · 28/08/2007 09:09

ok so if you tell me i have to wear crocs i am going to leave and never come back.............

sink is shiny, dishes are done, sink is still shiny
I AM DRESSED! first all summer this has happened before 11am

alycat · 28/08/2007 09:30

Morning!

My sink did make me smile (rest of kitchen is a tip, but hey) I even used bi-carb, it was brill!

Have emptied dishwasher/reloaded
dried my sink
put on some laundry
read my FLYing messages
got dressed - not outdoor shoes allowed in my house! Have some crocs for indoors - sorry harleyd, have stone floors that eat a pair of slippers every month!

I feel strangle excited and a little on edge, like pobletsmum I'm concerned that it will take me the rest of my life if I only add 1 FLY per day. But I'm guessing I have to do my normal cleaning routine (used loosely)as well as adding the babysteps stuff.

FLYers pls help???

alycat · 28/08/2007 09:30

strangle =strangely

ludaloo · 28/08/2007 09:48

Alycat....don't worry about it feeling a bit slow to start with...by the end of the week, you'll have 5 extra things to do a day! Hopefully, these will becom normal routine, so you won't even have to think about them, and you'll be able to do them really quickly, which will leave more time to do extra things.
If you feel you really need to do more (on top of what you normally do in a day) then have a go at a 15 min burst...or put out a hotspot, or do a 27 boogie fling (or whatever they are called!!)

runnyhabbit · 28/08/2007 11:10

I shined my sink last night, and it made me smile this morning

Jas · 28/08/2007 11:16

I love that shiny sink smile.

Everyone ho is worried about going too slow, don't. It soon builds up, and this ay you make it part of your daily routine, rather than just cleaning everything in a mad frenzy, and then leaving it all again for ages.
