Sorry I am a bit late doing this - I am just back from the school run - but here is day 8

OP posts:
purpleturtle · 11/05/2007 17:24

Done it!

Am very proud of myself. Can you tell?

Chirpygirl · 11/05/2007 18:09

Well, I de-mildewed the bath and grout today for my 15 minutes (bought some dettol stuff, it's great) and my 7 bags of clothes/shoes have gone so my bedroom is starting to look a little tidier.

I have realised that my washing up is being done as it comes and I am putting stuff straight in the dishwasher instead of piling them up next to it so something must be sinking in!

glassslipper · 11/05/2007 18:17

well done both of you.

i feel poorly. whine whine.

Chirpygirl · 11/05/2007 18:23

Poor you glassslipper, it's only babysteps, take a day off!

sorkycake · 11/05/2007 22:58

God I'm knackered!
I had an agreement with Dh today that he would be responsible for the kids (except baby feeds) whilst I gutted the house to clean it.
Today I blitzed upstairs!
Bathroom- from top to bottom, walls, floors, skirting, all of it.
Nursery- top to bottom, all clothes replaced with the next size, wardrobe reorganised.
Kids bedroom- top to bottom, will not disclose what I found under the bunkbeds, needless to say it was Gross! Cleaned out the toy cupboard.
Our bedroom-op to bottom, rearranged and clothes vaccuum-packed for storage.
Landing area cleaned, stairs hoovered.
Oven cleaned- no mean feat!
Conservatory is a 'greenhouse' atm so tidied but not detailed.
Hall & storage area detailed.
All windows cleaned.
Utility cleaned, laundry done and up-to-date.
Have living room & kitchen to 'pull out' tomorrow, but the majority is done.
It took 8 hours to do! I'm never ever letting it get that bad again.
I'm very proud of myself I have to say

glassslipper · 12/05/2007 08:44

Morning all

day11 Be inspirational

Had a migraine yesterday so did nothing but I'm doing well today. swot

glassslipper · 12/05/2007 08:44

ps. sorky - you did really well yesterday

sorkycake · 12/05/2007 11:53

Swot LOL

Chirpygirl · 12/05/2007 12:38

OMG sorky! I have just cleared behind the sofa and under the corner table (loads of newspapers and junk mail...and DH's socks!) and thought I was doing really well!

Hmmmm...inspirational phrases.. how about

There's biscuits in the cupboard when you are done.

glassslipper · 12/05/2007 12:43

I like "chocolate hobnobs or a bowl of icecream when you've picked up all that rubbish"

purpleturtle · 12/05/2007 14:30

I've resorted to 'anything is better than nothing'!

Been out to walk a MIle for Maude, but dressing everyone in pink and making up a picnic put paid to most of my morning routine.

And what am I doing instead of sorting out the dishwasher and hanging laundry? WRiting down inspirational phrases and watching MN!

sorkycake · 12/05/2007 14:36

How about
"my idea of cleaning is to give the room a sweeping glance, then have a cuppa"

purpleturtle · 12/05/2007 14:38

I told you I was getting addicted - I've just set myself a timer so that ds1 leaves me alone at the computer till it goes off.

It might even work.

glassslipper · 12/05/2007 14:48

at bot of you.

DH and I just sorted out the spare room. We cleared away all the computer games and put them away, cleared the box of doom which we've been putting off for ages and picked up everything off the floor. The book cases are still overflowing but at least I can hoover it next week now.

I made home-made soup for lunch (not sure where this cooking stuff has come from as I'm normally a terrible cook) and now we're chilling for a bit while DD2 sleeps.

NormaStanleyFletcher · 12/05/2007 15:21

Hello all

Thankyou for keeping this up while I have not really been here - I was sooooo busy at work and then DP was away Thursday night, then yesterday the only time I was home I felt really ill and had to go lie down. So - not much flying from me!!

I am hoping to catch up with the thread and with the last few days tasks today.

I didn't want you all to think that I had started it and then done a runner .

My sink shines though!

I think this is day 12

Have been deleting as I go, so I can take a day off.

Although have created myself an extra load of washing. Ds2 woke up with a very sore bottom, so i thought some nappy-free time was in order. We were fine till he pooed in his highchair...

MrsBearGrylls · 13/05/2007 15:39

Can't we have a day off? All this cleaning and stuff is making DH decidedly nervous, and confusing the baby!

Having said that I came down to a messy kitchen this morning and couldn't wait for DH to get up so I could clean it without worrying about DD...

1 load of washing done, kitchen cleaned, sod the rest

purpleturtle · 13/05/2007 15:41

I'm just a bit scared that a day off will turn into a week, then a month...

Chirpygirl · 13/05/2007 15:42

Oops, that was me

That's a good point, shall do hot spot now and am going to take a box of DD's toys upstairs to declutter in here.....now you've made me feel bad and all!

purpleturtle · 13/05/2007 15:43

Wasn't my intention at all Chirpygirl! Am only really doing the bare minimum here today.

Chirpygirl · 13/05/2007 15:51

S'okay purple turtle, I knew someone would say something so I was just looking for a kick up the arse!
Although there is a chicken casserole in for DD, I have sauteed potatoes to go with it and made shortbread, and there is gingerbread loaf in the oven, so I am not doing too bad.

(and yes, I haven't shifted yet!)

glassslipper · 14/05/2007 10:26

hi guys, flying visit

here is day13

purpleturtle · 14/05/2007 13:26

I blessed my home this morning! All done by 9.20 so I could smugly go out and drink coffee for the morning.

Have done Kelly's mission for today - the base of the loo and the obvious rubbish in the black hole that is the kids' bedroom. Ds1 quite caught the bug and was rather miffed when I came down to make a cuppa, but he seems to have got over it quite quickly and now wants to leave the rest till tomorrow!

funnypeculiar · 14/05/2007 13:36

Hello all! Lost the thread (and the flylady plot) rather last week - but back on the wagon today

glassslipper · 14/05/2007 13:37

hi everyone.,

i've hoovered downstairs. cleaned the back of the loo and picked up all of the books from dds floor. Sink is shiny too. and d/w and w/m are on.

tired now so will have a cuppa.
