Good morning, starting the thread for you this morning. Not as usual doing the link or my list, that will later. Am shattered though this morning.

OP posts:
BabiesEverywhere · 01/05/2007 11:15

Thanks for the lovely posts

I am just pottering on the internet (watching 2 loads of washing now on line drying)and watching DD play with DH slippers...poor child we must not give her enough toys BE Looks at pile of rejected toys in corner of room

I can't iron with DD around she pulls herself up on the ironing board and tries to get to the ironing lead...and if I put her in the playpen, I get ear piercing screams...so I'll wait for her to go down for an afternoon nap put on bad daytime TV chatshows on the V box and do the ironing later.

tortoise · 01/05/2007 11:16

DW emptied.
Washing out.
Dirty bits in dw.
Front room windows sparkling inside and out! I can see out now.
Worktops wiped down.

To do.
iron anything that needs doing.
Put washing away.
Maybe clean more windows!
Wash kitchen floor (will do after DD's are in bed, no ds's tonight!)

Shouldbe Sorry i missed you on MSN. hope you are off busy now.

tortoise · 01/05/2007 11:19

Londonmamma · 01/05/2007 11:19

Buongiorno!

Mhamai sorry you feel so awful, NUT - more hugs to your DD. Good wishes to all

I've had a nice but lazy morning so far.

To do now:

  1. phone piano dealer 2. clean fridge and put food delivery away 3. mission
BabiesEverywhere · 01/05/2007 11:29

Tort I wish !!!

Nice to see loads of FLYing going on since the couple of anti-FLYing threads recently.

We now have :-

:The offical efficient ;) FLY thread - i.e. Us

: The Baby Flyers - Yet to decide on a name

: The 'We are NOT Flyers but are doing the same thing - TO do lists and support '

Yeah

tortoise · 01/05/2007 11:34

Lol BE.

Ooops i am not really still here!!

SimplySparkling · 01/05/2007 11:43

BabiesEverywhere You are doing really well. Do what you can but put resting on the list every day when you've had a bad night, won't you?

LM My foreign language ability is not good. I should know where that is from. I don't like to go to a country without having learnt some of the language first, but I've been to several without knowing even the basics.

tort I know, it's funny that anyone could think me efficient and scary, isn't it? I think it's the rest of you confusing the issue! So long as MNers find a thread that they are comfortable in, then I don't mind if there are a few different ones. Horses for courses and all that.

Nine Yes, it does. I'm a bit at you saying GCSE, though. It makes me seem old, saying O'level!

Hi glassslipper and recoveringmum and yaddah. Jelley Bonjour is fine! Mhamai I hope you feel better very soon.

Done:-
~ walk the dog
~ open up greenhouse and water plants
~ two loads of washing
To do:-
~ I need to find my sunscreen and apply it
~ do lots of ironing and putting away
~ put 2nd load (just finished) on line

Jelley · 01/05/2007 12:04

LM Italian?(say it out loud, ad that's what it sounds like to me).

I keep reading the othe FLY-but-not FLY threads, too, and going to post, then deciding not to. I guess they look at the lenght of the threads (and lists) and don't actually read them
Or are scared by the fact that I get dressed every day as this has been my top achievement sometimes.

ludaloo · 01/05/2007 12:10

Morning Ladies

Not getting ANYTHING done today DS and DD2 are both poorly
DS was sick 3 times in the night, and once again this morning....his temp is sky high, which makes me pannick as he fits when his temp is too high .
DD2 was fine until about 10 oclock, when she was sick too her temp is high too, but hers is easily bought down with ibuprofen/calpol...DS can't have any more medicine, so its a cool flannel and all the widows open.

DD1 is fine though (I hope! school haven't rung to say otherwise)...apart from her cold.
I was supposed to be volunteering up at the school today (to help plant some flowers) and having a friends DD for dinner, but will have to cancel.

No FLYing being done really...just bed sheets and covers, and sicky pyjamas!! EEWWW!

Hope you are all ok anyway xxx

Londonmamma · 01/05/2007 12:37

&SS* Italian
and Buenas dias is hello in Spanish. Don't say you don't learn anything on Fly.
Yaddayah - you started it - are you from Bosnia?

Luda - poor you. Hope it doesn't last too long. Look after yourself.

Got to do school pick-up soon. Will have a quick tidy up then away.

yaddayah · 01/05/2007 12:50

Ahh the joys of learning !

No I am not Bosnian !

Before i got my yukky flu i decided to learn a new word everyday .. am trying to stop my brain from leaching out of my ears..

Unfortunately considering the snot fest i currently am (see .. what appalling grammar) i think it needs more than word word to work

Hence the big gracias for the bonjours/guten morgens and Buongiorno's!

Am still rofl'ing about us being scary (and me being efficient)

Have cleaned sink
Tidied away downstairs toys
And finished reading Closer magazine

BabiesEverywhere · 01/05/2007 12:52

SimplySparkling Thanks Hon. I am going to be bed very early tonight

yaddayah · 01/05/2007 12:52

Luda .. do you think theres some correlation between cleaning and illness ?

I'm sure the Yadda family have never been this sickly ?

Wishing your little illies a speedy recovery

NineUnlikelyTales · 01/05/2007 13:28

SS I only missed O-Level by a year so don't feel too old

Well I am actually getting somewhere today (shh, don't speak too soon..).

Done
Recycling put out and box brought back in
Bedroom immaculate
Bathroom cleaned (but still need to mop floor with mop not towel)
Bathroom glass shelf and mirror shining
Nappies on to wash

Still to do
Unload/reload dishwasher
Tidy sitting room
Vacuum downstairs
Library (just off now)

glassslipper · 01/05/2007 13:40

hi guys,

i'm going to dip into the baby steps fly thread as i've lost the plot when it comes to housework. maybe it is a delayed reaction to having a baby but i'll post here to chat to you guys anyway.

done nothing since i posted earlier . but have to take both DDs to Drs later (for different things) so booked a double appt.

hope you're all having a good day,

yaddayah · 01/05/2007 13:44

yadd hangs onto glasslipper 's leg wailing don't go ! I promise not to make you say hello in Swahilli

waaaaaaa

tortoise · 01/05/2007 13:47

1st load of ironing done!

DD1 seemed much better until now,. She ate a little lunch and has just been sick. I wish i knew what was wrong with her. Doesn't seem like a normal bug.

Luda Sorry to hear you have poorly ones too.

tortoise · 01/05/2007 13:49

Oi Glassslipper! You can't leave! Surely we are no different to their thread? I don't even do the whole fly thing really. This thread just helps me get a bit more done.

ludaloo · 01/05/2007 14:01

No improvement for DS he is asleep on the sofa with a damp flannel on his noggin. DD2 has perked up, and is pottering around.

yadd I was wondering that too....maybe the cleaner your house, the less immune to bugs you are!? I personally think its all something to do with the water. I am hardly ever ill, and I don't drink anything from the tap...not even boiled tap water (staple diet of coke and fresh orange juice!)

I still haven't done much..other than washing.

tort sorry to hear DD is still being sick very strange, I hope she recovers soon.

What are all these other threads?

glasss hope you pick the baby steps up again....don't leave us for long...I'll miss you! You were on here when I first started FLYing...with a halloween name...then you completely confused me when halloween was over!!!!!

Right...I must clean the glass on the fish tank it is doing my head in!!!.....another ruddy pet for me to have to take sole responsibility of!!!!

glassslipper · 01/05/2007 14:21

I'm not leaving....dont panic. I'm just going to start babysteps again with the other thread and then come on here to catch up and chat

I thought seeing other people at the same steps might help me get back into the swing of things....I havent had a shiny sink for a whole week. DD2 is stil up twice a night and its come as a bit of a shock as dd1 was always such a good sleeper.

grouchyoscar · 01/05/2007 14:21

Hello ALL

Been out all morning. I've had a hair and make up test for my bf's wedding. I feel really good tbh

Managed to get DS delivered at 1 ish so no panic there

I have done today

Cuddle DS
Up, washed and dressed
Make bed
Make DS bed
Load DW
Check bank accounts
Go to tests
Home, have DS delivered
Change him from uniform
Put away clean laundry in bedroom
Create new ironing pile
Find 'missing' school shirt
Water plants
Sort out Xbox for DS
MN time

To do
Prep veg for evening meal
Ironing
Bring washing in and sort
Hunt for suitable underwear for the wedding (it has to be strapless, smooth and shapely)

Oh I found a beautiful Hawthorn Sheild Beetle on a shirt on the washing line. It was so pretty

NineUnlikelyTales · 01/05/2007 14:29

Luda I hope DS is better soon
GO - makeup test...is that where thet make you name the 4 best brands 9 mascara, and you have to demonstrate your competency with a blusher brush?

NineUnlikelyTales · 01/05/2007 14:30

Erm, instead of 9 it should read 'of'

tortoise · 01/05/2007 14:37

GO I always call them leaf bugs.

DD1 seems fine again apart from tum hurting a little bit! She wanted to go out on the trampoline!

2nd load of washing out and dd2 asleep on the sofa! She got upset because i stopped her from sitting on me for a minute when dd1 was sick.

glassslipper · 01/05/2007 14:44

i've always wondered what those bugs were!
