Morning Jelley Hope you feel ok today
Grouchy Sorry to hear about this nits.
Tortoise I hope your wee ones feel better soon.

I off out this morning taking Ellie to Babysigning Class. Will make a list when I return.

hope you all have a good morning.x.

JustIvor · 17/01/2007 08:49

Hello to all.

Jelley I thought in my sleepiness at around 6.10am this morning that I could start the thread then remembered that I was downstairs to unplug things because of the storm! Doh. Twit. Still, they say that it's the thought that counts. Thanks for starting the thread.

EllieHsMum I hope you have fun at the class.

luda I'd hoped to have some adverts in our local paper but they haven't appeared. Poor dh spent time on Sun writing them and went to the office on Mon morning to drop them off in time for the deadline but they must already have had as many as they had room for. That's a thought. Could I ask you to cut out the advert form and keep it for me, please? If they don't sell when they do appear in the paper, we'll have to get some more forms to fill in again. Not to worry if you need the form for yourself or anything.

My list for today:-
~ walk the dog
~ fetch the paper done
~ do a load of washing
~ tidy the kitchen
~ ring the Urdd office
~ ring the school nurse
~ tidy up the bedroom a bit

JustIvor · 17/01/2007 08:52

grouchyoscar I just read your last post. I hope you were able to get to sleep again.

satinshoes · 17/01/2007 08:54

Morning all.

Wow! DD slept from 12.15 until 5.30. yippee! Admittedly it was in her car seat as she wouldnt settle in the moses basket but it means i got my longest sleep in ages so feel great. She fed and was up for an hour and is still asleep now. (on my bed - hates the moses basket)

Got to take DD1 to preschool in a bit. Then HV coming over later to weigh DD2.

will try and tackle bathroom later as havent touched it but that will be it as plan to rest too

grouchy - sorry to hear about nits. yuk. hope all gone soon.

have a good day all

JARM · 17/01/2007 08:55

Morning all!

On a mission today - house will be sparkling by 6pm! (needs to be - SIL/DB coming for tea!)

Will try and keep popping in and out! xxx

shouldbedoingthehousework · 17/01/2007 08:58

Good Morning

grouchyoscar poor you! Lice are nasty - we have had a problem in my dd's class where there's a known little boy who has lice permenantly but the school don't seem to be able to do much about it "for fear of upsetting the boys parents" Since the summer the problem seems to have improved but last year several of us parents felt we were fighting a losing battle. I hope you manage to nuke the little blighters!
tort hope your dd's are OK this morning
EHM have fun at the class - sounds interesting...

I'm just about to take my ds to pre-school (an extra day for him to try this week) but will be back later and try to do a list and I need to do some work too. The washing machine broke again last night - this time the drum doesn't seem to be turning so we'll have to call someone out (at great expense I expect!)

JustIvor · 17/01/2007 08:58

satin Good to hear that you have a longer period of sleeping time last night! Have a good day.

JARM Are you doing a list or just rolling your sleeves up and getting on with it? As I wrote that, the housekeeper in Father Ted popped into my head! Must have been the sleeves. Sorry about that.

Did a lot yesterday so have an easier day today
My list ~
~change beds
~wash bedding (neighbour is lending me her wm - she's out though so I hope I can work out how to work it

That'll do really...there are other bits I could do but I'm going to just get on and see how the time goes.

ludaloo · 17/01/2007 09:51

morning ladies

Ivor not a problem...I'll cut it out for you.

grouchy ARGH! I really feel for you...I hate them!!!!! Dd1 gets them fairly often...its really really annoying. It gets me so angry!! And like you I strip the beds too...all of them infact...even ours!!! I don't know if it helps or not physically, but mentally I feel better. I hate the thought of any jumping off and waiting on the pillows for the next unsuspecting head! I heard you were not supposed to share hats or scarfs...as nits could spread that way (our school even warned us of fluffy coat collars!)So I'd rather be on the safe side where the bedding is concerened...EEWWWWW!!!

Elliesmum Is it baby signing as in sign language?? I think I have heard of these...its a very good way to communicate to infants apparently.

satin glad you had a good sleep, take it easy today though..you never know what will happen tonight!!!!

Jarm Good luck with your list!!!!!!

ivor.....forgot to say....did you have storms??? I don't think we have, do you think it might be heading this way??

Well my list today:
~dishwasher done
~washing load in
~bit more in bathroom..then I think I'm done in there!
~hoovering

See you all later xx

shouldbedoingthehousework · 17/01/2007 09:52

oh, and also need to make some phone calls and do some work for my actual paid job. Hope to only take a couple of hours at the most for that though.

ludaloo · 17/01/2007 09:53

ooh sorry shouldbe I missed you off!
I haven't got too much to do today either...luckily, I did a big house tidy on Friday and i'm still managing to keep on top of it

ludaloo · 17/01/2007 09:55

actually shouldbe I have just spotted your bed changing on your list...I should probably do that today too....especially as I have no more to wash...

shouldbedoingthehousework · 17/01/2007 10:00

that's OK luda I'm finding it more difficult to remember all the names on the threads at the moment too and am getting really bad a catching up with all the posts
What I really want to do today is sit and watch rubbish daytime telly....not really in the mood for much else. BUT, can't do that all day so will get on and maybe have some me time before I collect ds at 12.30 - it's 10am already though so had better press on!

shouldbedoingthehousework · 17/01/2007 10:02

AND went to buy some flowers on the way home form pre-school but shop was shut! Really wanted to cheer the house (and me)up - I may even drive the 7 miles to the next closest shop later just to get some!

JustIvor · 17/01/2007 10:02

luda Thanks for offering to cut out and keep the form for me. We've got several things to sell which are cluttering up the house, so we'll keep advertising them until they go. The storm came and went in about half an hour. I saw one lot of lightening so went around unplugging things but didn't see another. By the time dh got up less than an hour later it had all blown through.

Good lists on the thread.

JustIvor · 17/01/2007 10:04

shouldbe I always have either Radio 2 or the tv on in the background, too. The way I work it is that if something good is on i.e. an interesting interviewee or a soap update, I iron whilst it is on. Then when an uninteresting one is on, I'll hoover. You get to see what you want and the jobs get done too.

Right. Rest break over.

bewilderbeast · 17/01/2007 10:04

morning all, my day will mostly consist of packing packing and more packing. Also a trip to the solicitors and lunch with a group of mums I've never met. I hate packing!

ludaloo · 17/01/2007 10:06

ivor Thats ok I think the storm may have passed then...its actually brightened up here.

shouldbe Oh yes...I forgot about the flowers...I will get some today too

ludaloo · 17/01/2007 10:07

ooooh have a good lunch bewilderbeast Are they MN mums???
Good luck packing too

Flamesparrow · 17/01/2007 10:07

Ello... still babystepping quite a bit, but got the washing drying, dishes done (and have even finally managed to convince DH that if one of us does dinner dishes whilst the other does bedtime, I am a much nicer person!).

Will do mission later when DS is awake

bewilderbeast · 17/01/2007 10:14

ludaloo they are nm mums! I don't post there but I have found the meet a mum board useful

TisMeMellowma · 17/01/2007 10:18

Hello ladies, I am thinking of joining you today. I have name changed so none of you know who I am

I have 3 loads of washing to do

ludaloo · 17/01/2007 10:27

bewilderbeast OOOhhhh NM mums.....you'll have to let us know how you get on
I have had a look on NM but it is all a bit alien...especially as I'm used to MN....I'm a creature of habit me!
