In the vein of KonMari and inspired by the £200 bin. I feel the need to know what else I'm missing out finding joy from otherwise boring yet necessary household crap

I don't have the iron station yet but think it would make my heart sing compared to tripping over how my ironing board iron and laundry is currently stored

I have squealed at least 4 times reading this thread. My husband thinks I'm having an organisation orgasm Grin this thread is THE BEST!

candykane25 · 02/04/2016 19:39

I have a little silver tin from Myji which is actually a small tissue dispenser but I use it for keeping cotton buds in. I've had it forever.

puglife15 · 02/04/2016 19:51

We have two cordless Dysons... At one point we had three but sold one as it was getting ridiculous. Ahem.

I love my new Tumble drier, it's the first time I've ever had one. Be gone, crunchy towels!

We have a HUGE kitchen drawer with built in dividers which fits all our cutlery and utensils. It's magic.

Also Mason jars for pulses, cereals, flours, etc etc. Actually a bit of a faff but they look cool Blush

I'm obsessed with magic eraser sponges - is there nothing they cannot do?

I insist on nice looking hand soap by the sink; a good cheap one is by Method.

I also have a thing for dusters despite hardly ever dusting my microfibre duster which is the shape of a trowel covered in little fluffy microvilli style bits is my favourite but I love how my feather duster looks.

I hate my bin, after this thread.

I always enjoy a humble lint roller Blush

sparkly72 · 02/04/2016 20:03

I love my cordless dyson... My cleaner hates it and has had to change her routine so she hoovers downstairs first then puts it on to charge while she dies other stuff... Then hoovers upstairs ...so many things wrong with my post I don't know where to start

londonrach · 02/04/2016 20:04

For those who have never been in lakeland....dont....there is nothing to see in the shop at all. (Hides the pineapple cutter, heater airer). Seriously never enter lakeland with either a credit card or money. www.lakeland.co.uk

londonrach · 02/04/2016 20:06

Have this too.....to go with washing up bowl. It looks so pretty and keeps everything together.... www.lakeland.co.uk/24010/Joseph-Joseph®-Caddy-Sink-Organiser-White

My saucepans. Tefal Ingenio pan set. A lovely set of tough non-stick pans WITH NO HANDLES - you get a handle separately in the set, you just clip it on when you need to lift the pan, then remove.

So the pans take up less room in the cupboard (because they just stack flush inside one another), less room on the stove - and they are safer, as no handle to be knocked accidentally, or grabbed by small children. You can put them in the oven, fridge, freezer and dishwasher - where again, they take up less space because no poxy handles to fit in! They are brilliant and they make me happy every time I use them.

Caught MIL sticking a metal fork in one the other day. I might have gone a bit shrill Blush

3 bag travel system is detailed above Apple

Justfivemoreminutesplease · 02/04/2016 20:12

Oh lord - I have just looked at those Lakeland shoe boxes. How on earth did I not know about them....

SymphonyofShadows · 02/04/2016 20:13

Nespresso here too. Best present ever

RumbleMum · 02/04/2016 20:16

excited that's genius, thank you Smile

bananafish81 · 02/04/2016 20:17

Just five - the shoe boxes are a total game changer!!!

DisappointedOne · 02/04/2016 20:20

I have those too Puntastic. Life changing.

DisposableName · 02/04/2016 20:21

Puntastic I am cooking in my Ingenio pans as we speak! I LOVE them. Possibly more than I love DH.

Also we had stainless steel pans and metal utensils before so have had to buy a nice new set of funky silicone utensils too. Shame. Grin

PoppyAmex · 02/04/2016 20:21

My hoover / steamer - I can hoover and steam rooms at the SAME TIME. Can't get over how genius it is, especially for the kitchen. Only works in non-carpet areas, but we have tiles and wood all over, so happy days!

My walk in larder. It's a balm for my soul. Almost everything is in clear containers and it's a joy to look at.

The pulley maid in the utility room for all non-tumble dry stuffs.

My homemade essential oils air fresheners in pretty spray bottles with beautiful minimalistic labels. HATE artificial smells and love being able to customize them for each room. Children's rooms currently smell of a blend of lavender (for sleeping and eucalyptus, because there's sniffles).

My posting station: boxes, envelopes, stamps, wrist sellotape, pens etc. all in the same place.

The linen cupboard. When it's tidy, it's lovely.

The Wi-Fi sockets DH got me - ridiculously happy about remotely turning stuff on and off and programing lights, etc. for useful times.

My InstantPot - digital pressure cooker/slow cooker/yogurt maker/steamer/rice cooker and saute. Changed my life.

I also love Lakeland and get super happy when the catalogue arrives.

PoppyAmex · 02/04/2016 20:24

Hoover Steamer thingie.

InstantPot

Tartyflette · 02/04/2016 20:26

Huh. Well , I have over half the Lakeland catalogue (I am very old and have been buying from them since about 1986 when they were still called Lakeland Plastics) cluttering up my kitchen at home but the best. things.ever. are the 'fat trappers''.
Say goodbye to greasy grill pans! No more grillpan fires! Marvel at the amount of gunk they soak up!

But really, they are great.

PuntasticUsername · 02/04/2016 20:33

all round for Disappointed and Disposable Grin

Yep, I have a lot of silicone implements too. Especially the dinky little spatulas. In all different colours. Because they are LOVELY.

Lucked · 02/04/2016 20:44

We have a pulleymaid in the utility room and it is great to just hoist the clothes up out the way, the boiler is in there too so it dries really quick up there.

I love the fact we have a cloakroom I don't know how people cope without one.

Little things like ikea bottle seals and bag clips are constantly useful and my aeropress for work means I can have decent coffee whenever I want it.

I actually ordered one of the Joseph Joseph sink bowls this morning as Next have them and it is just what we need, glad to see its MN approved!

SmallCarrot · 02/04/2016 20:49

A bin which has a sensor so it opens and closes automatically! It's too close to the kitchen door though, it opens every time we walk past but it does remind the DCs to put stuff in the bin not on the counter top

AlisonWunderland · 02/04/2016 20:52

puntastic those handl less pans look ace!
I have some similar Arcoflam ones, white ceramic with separate handles but I've broken one pan and a different lid, and they no longer make them. My other non stick pans are looking ropy so your ones could replace the lot.
I see no pouring lip. Is that a problem?

BeaufortBelle · 02/04/2016 21:04

I have a "new" house to refurb. These are my top priorities:

An American sized washing machine
Converting the strange utility and adjoining corridor with it's own 2nd front door Shock into a proper BOOT ROOM.
